WV State Fair Announces Additional Concerts for 2014 Event
Tuesday, August 12 - Scotty McCreery - In two short
years, Scotty McCreery became one of country's hottest new stars, with
album sales topping 1.6 million, including a platinum-selling debut
album that made Billboard history and helped him win several new artist
awards. During this whirlwind career explosion, he sang for President
Barack Obama, performed the national anthem at the World Series,
appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "TODAY Show," and
toured the country from coast to coast. In 2011, America fell in love
with McCreery, then a shy 17-year-old boy with a wide smile,
preternaturally deep voice and a love of faith, family and his hometown
of Garner, N.C.. But that boyish image is merely a fond memory now that
he's turning 20. While the core of who
he is and what he stands for remains the same, his strong voice has
deepened as he has grown into a seasoned, confident performer. His
impressive evolution is immediately evident on his second studio album,
See You Tonight, which artfully captures who he is now, both as an
artist and as a man. With See You Tonight, as well as his previous
work, his bass voice and an irresistible sound create the perfect blend
of contemporary and traditional country. With more than 150 live shows
under his belt across the U.S., Canada and the Philippines, McCreery has
become a favorite of all ages because of the universal appeal of his
music, warmth, and all-American values. Five months after winning
Season 10 of "American Idol," McCreery released his debut album, Clear
As Day, which became the best-selling
solo album released by a country artist in 2011. Indeed, he became the
youngest man in history to have his first album debut atop the all-genre
Billboard Top 200 albums chart.

Scotty McCreery Plays Pinehurst No. 2…And Sings
Scotty McCreery finally made it…and lived to sing about it.
He finally made it onto Pinehurst No. 2.
And after a round under glorious Carolina blue skies (sorry, Wolfpackers; have to call it like it is) at U.S. Open Media Day, the platinum-selling country music star and American Idol winner took a few minutes to tell us about his first round on No. 2, his recollections of attending the 1999 U.S. Open as a “youngster,” and then added a few bars of the song he most associates with Pinehurst.
You don’t want to miss that. http://www.pinehurst.com/news/scotty-mccreery-plays-pinehurst-2-sings/

Scotty McCreery is the hottest male in Country Music

Jason
Merritt, Getty Images
The fans have spoken and Scotty
McCreery is the hottest male in country music. The ‘Feelin’ It’
singer won Taste of Country’s March
Man-Ness contest, besting 31 other Nashville hunks.
The final pairing featured McCreery against Luke
Bryan, and while the tally was close the 20-year-old from North
Carolina never trailed. He ended up with over 56 percent of the vote.
Before beating Bryan, McCreery and his fans topped Dan
+ Shay, Hunter Hayes, Brett
Eldredge and George Strait. March Man-Ness was decided
entirely by the fans. Artists were split into four regions and paired up over
the span of five weeks. Bryan advanced to the finals after winning the Lady
Killers bracket. McCreery was the top Young Buck.

Scotty McCreery More Than Just A Country Star
Hanna Jorgensen | April 9, 2014 | no comments
Idol winner juggles the music scene and college life at North Carolina State UnvBy Scotty McCreery
Female fans across the country scream his name at concerts. His sophomore album, “See You Tonight,” was his second consecutive No. 1 album debut, following his 2011 release, “Clear as Day.” The video for “See You Tonight” spent an impressive 11 weeks at No. 1 on GAC’s fan-voted Top 20. Oh, and of course he won the 10th season of American Idol, making him the first winner born in the 1990s.
If the name of this young powerhouse escapes you, you may have been living under a rock since 2011.

Country musician Scotty McCreery will be performing at the Health and Sports Center Thursday, April 10. The concert is organized by the Loper Programming & Activities Council (LPAC).

His first album, “Clear as Day” was released after only three or four months. He said “See You Tonight” was molded to perfection for over a year and a half, and fans are responding to the lyrics.
McCreery had a hand in writing many of the songs. While many artists choose to write solo, McCreery said he loves to co-write with other people. “I love to be in the room with other people who have ideas to make a song better,” he said.
McCreery earned his first Top 10 tune with the lead single and title track “See You Tonight” which he co-wrote. In spite of the country star lifestyle spotlighted so often in the news and always hanging on him, McCreery says he is actually a pretty laid back guy. On tour he says he doesn’t get caught up in “all the humbug” and is pretty chill. He looks forward to simple pleasures, a couple rounds of golf and some time with friends. “In the summer we have a sweet setup outside,” McCreery said about his “backyard barbecue” atmosphere outside the bus: a TV, big ‘ol grass mat, chairs and a cooler with a game of Cornhole to pass the time. When all the hustle and bustle gets to McCreery, he likes to just be a regular guy again. McCreery says that he feels he is in the right place in the world. “This is what I’m put here to do, so I am enjoying it all,” McCreery said.
McCreey said he goes by the philosophy that everything in life happens for a reason. He can wish things were different and look back and wonder what in the world he was doing as a 17-year old Idol competitor, but all he wants to do is learn and grow. Even looking back at his first taste of the American Idol lifestyle doesn’t faze him. “Everybody has those awkward teenage years; I guess I was just going through them in front of 12 million people a night. But I would change nothing,” McCreery said.
As if being a full-time country star wasn’t enough work for McCreery, he is also a college student at North Carolina State University. McCreery was a full time student for the first three semesters of college, but has pulled back this semester to promote the album. McCreery says it’s all about priorities. “Instead of playing Xbox on the bus, you gotta pick up a pen and paper or computer and start writing,” McCreery said. McCreery believes he was really good in the beginning, but as college went on and got tougher he had to slow down and “re-work” his time management.
McCreery is a role model and even a beacon of hope for young people trying to make their own dreams come true. He says that young people need to keep fighting for their dreams, to work every day and really try. McCreery doesn’t want future success to just be a dream for other young people, but a reality. His strongest piece of advice for young people looking to fulfill their dream is to be unique. “Everybody’s unique, you just gotta show folks what is different about you. Nobody wants a copycat. Work hard and be different. Be you,” McCreery said.

McCreerian's Let's Get Our Votes in for Scotty McCreery this week

Ethan Miller / Jason Merritt, Getty Images
The final week of ToC’s March Man-Ness pits two artists with
the most active fans against each other to decide country music’s hottest male.
Both sides are surely thinking, “Is there any doubt?” but one week of voting
will bring back and forth punches in this quest to find the biggest hunk.
March Man-Ness started with 32 men in four regions. Luke
Bryan won the Lady Killers region, then topped Dierks
Bentley to reach the finals. His stage time at the 2014 ACM Awards
didn’t do anything to ebb his hotness. Bryan twisted and moved his hips during
a wonderful performance of ‘Play It Again.’ And his personality came through
generously during his co-host banter.
Scotty McCreery doesn’t have recent TV time to
aid him in his quest to be named the hottest male, but he may have the votes
anyway. McCreerians haven’t let him down yet, topping George
Strait from the Legends bracket to get to the finals. The
well-mannered, classy 20-year-old is going to need an even stronger effort to
win this round however.
So, who’s it going to be? Vote up to once every hour until
the final March Man-Ness poll closes at 11:59PM ET on April 13, 2014. The
winner will be announced on April 14.

Scotty McCreery Misses Out On the Red Sox White House Visit

Scotty McCreery
Had this been a small, local charter company, one might understand how one missing pilot could cause a flight to be cancelled with no available alternatives, but their flight was on American Airlines! When it became that the father and son weren't going to make it to the capital in time to be a part of the event, Scotty shared his disappointment on Twitter. He tweeted, "Woulda been at the White House today to celebrate the Red Sox World Series Championship, but @AmericanAir captain decided not to show up…"
The airline responded with, "@scottymccreery Our apologies for the inconvenience, Scotty. Please DM your six letter record locator and we'll see if we can help."
Sadly, all of the help their reps could offer at that point was mute because he had missed his window. McCreery replied, "@AmericanAir nope, nothing you can do. Had to be at the White House gates no later than 10:15. No free tix will help this either… thanks…" followed by, "As upset/mad as i’ve been in a long time…"
While fans shared their displeasure with the airline, another country music star, Taylor Swift, shared her thoughts (making one wonder if she hasn't had a bad experience with American herself). She tweeted, "@ScottyMcCreery ONLY FLY DELTA."
So instead of being on-hand to see David Ortiz, the World Series MVP, taking a selfie with the President, Scotty went and played golf with three friends to enjoy the beautiful spring day.

Scotty McCreery Releases New Single, ‘Feelin’ It’
Credit to: ToufiqLeVox·
By
Gayle Thompson April 2, 2014 3:00 PM
Scotty McCreery has released the second single
from his No. 1 album, ‘See You Tonight.’ The new tune, ‘Feelin’ It,’ sounds
like the perfect anthem to welcome in the summer season.
“Ain’t nothin’ like diggin’ that summertime / Diggin’ in
the sand, gettin’ tan / With your hand in my hand / I’m feelin’ it / Oh yeah,
I’m feelin’ it,” is bound to put listeners in the mood for warm weather and
carefree summer nights.
But while the 20-year-old might sing that “Cutoffs are
cuttin’ / Worry ‘bout nothin’ / But puttin’ something in my cup (feelin’ it),”
in the uptempo single, chances are, in real life it’s just going to be soda in
his cup this summer. McCreery, a devout Christian, says he won’t be imbibing
while crossing the country on his See You Tonight Tour.
“The road is a fun place and it’s a great place to get out
there and explore the country,” he notes.
“But as far as the road life with the ‘rock and roll temptations,’ there’s not
much of that with me … luckily I’ve got a great group of guys in my band, we
don’t usually face the temptations that you see in the old rock style kind of
folks.”
The first single from McCreery’s sophomore album, which was
also the title track, became his third single that was certified gold, indicating sales in excess of
500,000 units. But the North Carolina native says he carefully chose each song
on his latest record, regardless of whether it had potential as a single.
“If I put a song on the record, it’s because I thought it
had a point and a meaning to it,” he explains. “I’m excited to hear what some of the
reactions are to some of these songs because they’re a little different, you
know? We’ve got some new feels and some different topics we’re hitting on this
record, so it’ll be cool.” McCreery’s See You Tonight Tour is headed to Pennsylvania,
Nebraska and Minnesota. See all of his upcoming shows here.
