Scotty McCreery six-city Major League Baseball Tour

Edit: Just wanted to post this CMT Article about the Six City MLB Tour here instead of making a new post - Donna

Former high school pitcher Scotty McCreery plans donations totaling $50,000 to youth baseball programs during a six-city tour of Major League Baseball stadiums. Among the recipients will be MLB's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) initiative.

At each game, McCreery will invite local radio winners to be his guest as he throws out the first pitch, provides CDs for giveaways, sings as part of the seventh-inning stretch and serves as a guest broadcaster. He began the tour on Aug. 29 in St. Petersburg, Fla., during the game between the Seattle Mariners and the Tampa Bay Rays.

He'll appear Sunday (Sept. 8) in San Diego where the Colorado Rockies meet the Padres and Sept. 12 in Philadelphia when the Padres play the Phillies. Other stops are set for Sept. 15 in Chicago for the game between the Cleveland Indians and the White Sox and Sept. 22 in Washington D.C., where the Miami Marlins take on the Nationals. The promotion ends Sept. 27 in Atlanta for the game between the Phillies and the Braves.

McCreery was a pitcher for Garner Magnet High School in Garner, N.C. During his senior year, the American Idol winner continued to pitch for the team while spending weekends as the opening act on Brad Paisley's tour.

"I learned some of my greatest lessons playing sports and being a team member," McCreery says. "Sports teach you so many life lessons about self-discipline, responsibility, teamwork, setting goals and being fit. It's awesome that Major League Baseball provides opportunities for kids who might not have a chance to play baseball and softball elsewhere. I'm proud to provide assistance to this program."

McCreery's new album, See You Tonight, will be released Oct. 15.

Scotty McCreery spotlights NCSU's Brickyard and Pullen Park in new video

Scotty McCreery's new music video debuted online today, and in keeping with his tradition, it includes some scenes from the Triangle.

McCreery and his band perform "See You Tonight" on The Brickyard of the N.C. State University campus, where he is a sophomore.
The performance is mixed in with a storyline where a military man is missing his girlfriend back home. Scenes of the couple include what is obviously Pullen Park and its famous carousel.

The guy shows up at the girl's house at the end of the video, after making stops at a flower shop and Krispy Kreme. The shop, identified as "Magnolia Flower & Gift Shop," doesn't appear to be in the Triangle. And the Krispy Kreme drive-thru is definitely not the one on Raleigh's Peace Street. (Still, a nice bit of product placement for the Winston-Salem based doughnut chain.)

"See You Tonight" is the first single from McCreery's third album, also called "See You Tonight." It will be released on Oct. 15. Preorders are available at www.scottymccreery
McCreery's video for his previous single "The Trouble With Girls" was shot at his alma mater, Garner High School. Also, many scenes from Garner (including its water tower, natch) were featured in the video for the single "Water Tower Town."

His first video, "I Love You This Big," didn't appear to show any local sites, though his mom, Judy McCreery, had a cameo appearance.

See You Tonight Video by Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery‘s ‘See You Tonight’ video tells a homecoming love story for a member of the United States military. It’s also a homecoming for the singer, as the performance footage was filmed on the campus of North Carolina State University, where McCreery attends school.

The excitement builds throughout this Roman White-directed clip, as the man in fatigues makes his way from a military base to his sweetie at home. The beauty — played by Raleigh model Magen Medlin — doesn’t know he’s coming, and for much of the clip, she’s seen dreaming of being in his arms. The lead actor makes a couple of stops along the way, including a trip to buy flowers and one to pick up a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. It won’t be lost on McCreery’s hometown fans that he’s paying tribute to another North Carolina institution with the trip to Krispy Kreme.

For the performance footage, McCreery and his band (plus a sizable crew) took over the Brickyard on N.C. State’s grounds. The Brickyard is a plaza and meeting place in the heart of the Raleigh, N.C. campus. Numerous events take place throughout the year on those red and white bricks.

‘See You Tonight’ is the first single and title track of McCreery’s sophomore album. The project will be available on Oct. 15, but fans who pre-order it before 7:30PM CT on Thursday (Sept. 5) will receive a copy signed by the 19-year-old rising star himself. Pre-order ‘See You Tonight’ at McCreery’s online store at his official website.
