One of today's hottest new country music vocalists and "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery will put on a free, exclusive USO concert for troops and military families at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, July 24, 2013. This will be McCreery's first USO concert. Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota: 6:30 PM USO Presser 6:55 PM USO Presser Ends 7:30 PM USO Concert Since winning "American Idol" in 2011, McCreery has released two studio albums.

His first album was certified platinum and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Album charts, making him the youngest man in history to open at the top of the all-genre chart with a debut release. McCreery was also named American Country Awards 2011 New Artist of the Year.

In 2012, McCreery set out on the road with fellow USO tour veteran Brad Paisley and opened for Paisley's Virtual Reality Tour. As part of his first USO tour experience, McCreery will spend some time learning about the history and mission of Minot Air Force Base and the men and women who serve there.

QUOTE: Attributed to Scotty McCreery: "It's because of the men and women who defend this country, and the sacrifices of their families, that we are able to wake up everyday with the freedoms that we often take for granted. I'm grateful to the USO for allowing me the opportunity to say 'thank you' to our troops and their families." USO entertainment tours are one of the many ways that the USO celebrates the bravery, service and dedication of our men and women in uniform and their families.

America fell in love with Scotty McCreery in 2011 when he won American Idol and immediately made a name for himself with his deep, undeniably country voice, strong sense of self, small-town roots, and unwavering integrity and conviction.

While recording his album, Clear As Day, Scotty was driven by the desire to blend both classic and contemporary, to create a fresh sound that is simultaneously new and timeless. The album is a collection of appealing songs with universal themes, whether they’re exploring topics such as girls, family dinners or the Bible. “I chose these songs because they mean a lot to me, but I think everybody can also relate to them,” Scotty says. Special guest TBA.
