Scotty McCreery

American Idol’s Scotty McCreery

is coming to the Clay County Fair

Spencer, Iowa – “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery with special guests Craig Campbell and Spencer-native Casey Muessigmann presented by CD 107.7 FM will be a night of country music to remember at the Clay County Fair Grandstand Stage on Saturday, September 14.
“It is a privilege to have three up-and-coming stars of country music on our Grandstand stage on one night,” said CCF Manager Jeremy Parsons.  “What a way to end the eighth day of the Clay County Fair!”
Country music superstar Scotty McCreery has had a blindingly rapid rise to stardom since “American Idol.” The Garner, North Carolina, native quickly emerged as one of country music’s most successful new artists after his first album topped the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country charts, earning him a spot in the Guinness World Records Book for being the youngest male in history to score a No.1 album on the all-genre chart with a debut release. His albumalso garnered the highest sales of any country solo album released in 2011 with the first two singles, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls,” reaching certified Gold status.
The hot streak continued as Scotty went on to win New Artist of the Year at both the 2011 American Country Awards and the 2012 ACM Awards. He also picked up the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for “The Trouble With Girls” at the 2012 CMT Music Awards.  McCreery was ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s list of Top New Country Artists in 2011.

Scotty McCreery vs. Tate Stevens – The Showdown

The new single from Pistol Annies was no match for Scotty McCreery‘s ‘See You Tonight.’ The ‘American Idol‘ winner’s latest song thumped ‘Hush Hush’ this week, taking almost 85 percent of the Showdown vote in the two-day battle of new songs. Today, McCreery’s competition will be another popular country singer from reality television.
Tate Stevens is preparing to release his debut album next Tuesday, and his first single, ‘Power of a Love Song,’ is already a hit with fans. The big ballad shows the Missouri native’s range and emotional reach, but he’ll need as many ‘X Factor‘ voters as he can find to slow down McCreery.
Listen to clips of both McCreery and Stevens’ songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Monday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Monday.

Scotty McCreery: ‘Idol’ on a roll

ALBANY — From bagging groceries to becoming the youngest man in history to debut a No. 1 album on Billboard’s Top 200, Scotty McCreery has had to grow up fast.

“The biggest surprise, I would say, is how much of a business it really is,” said the 19-year-old country superstar who will play the Palace Theatre in Albany tonight as part of his first headliner tour. “All you dream about is getting on stage and performing and making music. You don’t dream about the behind-the-scenes business meetings, manager meetings and all of the stuff that goes into making those dreams become a reality.”

Thirty-nine million people watched McCreery win the 10th season of “American Idol” in May 2011. Capturing 122.4 million votes, he became an overnight sensation, much the way Elvis did after his first appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” in 1956.
