Happy New Year

From all of us here at Fans of Scotty, we'd like to wish you a very Happy New Year! Tomorrow in honor of the holiday we will not be posting on the site. We hope everyone has a wonderful first day of 2014!

2013 has brought us all together and to this site as almost 3 years ago, 'Scott McCreery, Scotty' graced our TV screens. It's been a long and wild ride following his journey but it has definitely been more than exciting.
Thank you to everyone that took the time to take pictures and videos of the concerts and allowed us to post them on the site for everyone to enjoy!

2013 started out with Scotty taking to the road to headline his first tour, the Weekend Roadtrip Tour 2013.  We smiled with proud as we watched the words SOLD OUT being posted on many of the venues he played in throughout the year.  We anxiously awaited the release of See You Tonight, his sophomore album.  We all prayed/hoped SYT would debut on the chart well and we were not disappointed. SYT debuted as #1 on the Country charts and #6 on all genre charts. Then McCreerian's did what they do best, they voted, voted and voted some more to see that Scotty won the ACA Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award. I could go on and on about the many things that we have experienced throughout Scotty's 2013 journey but I won't :) because we've all experienced a part of Scotty's 2013 journey either in person or on this site or another Scotty fan site.

We are looking forward to the journey Scotty will take us all on during 2014 he headlines his second tour, the See You Tonight TourAgain, we thank you all for being a part of our family here at Fans of Scotty.  Happy New Year

ScotTV Episode 13

Scotty McCreery Shares a Few of His Favorite Things – Exclusive Video By Billy Dukes December 24, 2013 2:00 PM
Scotty McCreery recently sat down to talk about what he’s most looking forward to this Christmas. His wish list is, not surprisingly, humble. It’s the simple joys of the holidays that the North Carolina-born singer says are his favorites come December 25. In this video exclusive to Taste of Country, the ‘See You Tonight’ singer talked about who and what he looks forward to this time of year. Now on break between semesters at N.C. State University, the 20-year-old will no doubt be waking up in his own bed at his parents’ home in Garner, N.C. Living the life of a normal college student is important to this star.

This post was originally posted on Idol Forum and I asked Maribeth for permission to re-post it here.  I love the song Christmas In Heaven and I know this song is a favorite of a lot of Scotty's fans, so I thought it would be nice to share a little bit about the one of the writers of the song.  Donna

This story has been republished with permission from Maribeth Johnson

Hello Everyone,

My name is Maribeth Johnson. I am the wife of Jeremy Johnson, who is a co-writer of the song "Christmas in Heaven" off of Scotty's CWSM record.

I wanted to share this video with you guys to give you a little back story about what was going on in our lives last year while this song was released.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qdn9jtSeIs (Christmas in Heaven segment is at around 6:00)

When we read Scotty's press release about the album and saw where we quoted that "Christmas in Heaven was one of his favorite songs on the record", we were thrilled over the moon! However, it was also the same day we got the devastating news that our baby girl that we were pregnant with at the time had a rare genetic disorder and only a 5% chance of survival. She made it 37 weeks but passed away in utero just 2 weeks shy of her delivery date.

Christmas in Heaven has a whole new meaning to us now as this will be our daughter Abbie Ann's first Christmas in Heaven. I have been following these boards for a while now but decided to speak up because I wanted you all to know what an integral part Scotty and his recording of CIH played during one of the most devastating times of our lives.

Blessings to you all and I pray that this message will bring you hope and encouragement. I am so honored to have also had the opportunity to record "Christmas in Heaven" from a mama's heart and if you are interested in that version you can check it out here: https://itunes.apple.com/album/frame/id771053015

Merry Christmas and blessings to you all!

Scotty McCreery, Red Bull, and Elvis

Drew Waters takes an incredible tour of 3 amazing Celebrity Motorhomes. Scotty McCreery Our tour of these awesome Celebrity Motorhomes first takes us to Bristol, Tennessee, to check out a coach that is a true American Idol. Besides winning the biggest talent show in the nation, Country Music Star Scotty McCreery also won America’s heart. With a debut album going platinum, there is no doubt he is the real deal. Now spending half the year touring, Scotty made sure he and his band of 13 do it in grand style on board this magnificent bus. With and impressive front lounge and enough bunk space for his entire crew, its easy to see why Scotty loves it kick back and relax in this great coach. Red Bull Then, continuing our tour of these incredible Celebrity Motor Homes we see how a custom coach literally doubles the fun while on the road. Red Bull is not just the world’s most popular energy drink, it’s become a global brand. From basketball superstar Blake Griffin to motocross freestyle specialist Travis Pastrana, Red Bull sponsors some of the best athletes in the world, and when these athletes need a space to hang out at an event, Red bull aims to please with two one of a kind buses. Built strictly to have a good time, our first coach takes a rolling party bus and hospitality to the highest possible level. The inside of this old double decker has been striped down to create the most unbelievable party space on the road, and if that doesn’t impress you, how about a bus that transforms into a fully functional sound stage at a press of a button. You don’t want to miss this. Elvis Last, our extravagant tour of celebrity motorhomes now takes us to Tupelo Mississippi where we check out a bus that is sure to get you "all shook up". Jeff and his team found Elvis’s old tour bus in a field and took on the task of bringing this beautiful piece of history back to life. 200 thousand dollars and 18 months later, Jeff accomplished what was to be an impossible task. From the custom living room to the back lounge area, it’s easy to see why the King of Rock and Roll traveled in a beauty like this. We’re rolling out the red carpet and giving you an exclusive look inside these AMAZING celebrity motor homes!

With album sales approaching 2 million in less than two years, Scotty McCreery has emerged as one of country's hottest new stars. He has earned a gold and platinum album, two gold singles, and two consecutive album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. His social numbers are equally impressive with a combined 2.4 million followers on Facebook and Twitter.

His deep voice and an irresistible sound create the perfect blend of contemporary and traditional country. With more than 200 live shows under his belt across the U.S., Canada and the Philippines, McCreery has become a crowd favorite appealing to all ages. His fan base is one of the most dedicated and enthusiastic in the country music world. His first headlining tour has been so successful—with numerous sell-outs and additional shows added to meet demand--that a fall 2013 run was added.

After winning Season Ten of American Idol, Scotty released his debut album, which was the best-selling solo album released by a country artist in 2011. Indeed, he became the youngest man in history to have his first album debut atop the all-genre Billboard Top 200 albums chart.  That album, Clear As Day, was certified platinum for sales of one million in just thirteen weeks. The first two singles from that album were each certified gold. In 2012, his Christmas album was also certified gold. He was named Top New Artist by Billboard and won best new artist awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards, the American Country Awards, and the CMT Awards. He is nominated for Breakthrough Artist at the upcoming American Country Awards.

His new album, See You Tonight, released in October 2013, debuted No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. He co-wrote his current single, "See You Tonight," which is climbing the charts, and well as four others on the album, which is receiving rave reviews from publications ranging from Rolling Stone and People to Entertainment Tonight and The Los Angeles Times.

Country Music Star Scotty McCreery Will Sign Autographs at Lowes Foods in Clemmons on Dec 14th

The Lowes Foods Store in Clemmons, North Carolina is buzzing with excitement as they prepare for a visit from a country music star and North Carolina native Scotty McCreery.

Credit lowesfoods.com
Bakers from North Carolina-based Lowes Foods made a cake display for Scotty McCreery during his hometown visit for the show American Idol in 2011. Their creation included 750 cupcakes, and more than 100 pounds of icing.
20 year-old Scotty McCreery is busy these days juggling his time as a college student at North Carolina State University and his country music career.  In 2011, he became the season 10 American Idol winner. On Tuesday, McCreery won again.  This time he was named the best breakthrough artist at the American Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

His former employer, Lowes Foods, will celebrate his big win this weekend during his visit to the newly renovated store in Clemmons.  “Scotty’s hometown is in Garner, North Carolina where he started out working in our grocery store in October 2010. Judy, Scotty’s mom, called us and asked if we would consider selling Scotty’s CD See You Tonight and we of course we said yes. As a thank you, Scotty is coming to our Clemmons store to meet with some of our guests,” says Debbie Williams is an executive assistant to the President of the grocery chain.

Williams says McCreery worked as a bagger and cashier during the audition process for the singing talent show. The store held community events to show their support for him during the competition. Lowes Foods even made an eight-by-four foot cake display of him for the American Idol viewing party in Garner.
Williams says officials at the Clemmons store will pass out wristbands to the first 300 people for an autograph and meet and greet with McCreery. Some lucky fans may even get a chance to sing with him at the event.

“We will start giving out those wristbands at Noon on Saturday. There will be a tent in the parking lot outside of our store. The other exciting thing is that we have ten students from West Forsyth High School choir coming to our store and  we are hoping that Scotty will join them in a couple of Christmas songs from his Christmas CD,” says Williams.

The public autograph signing with country music star Scotty McCreery will take place Saturday, December 14 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Lowes grocery store in Clemmons.

His first big thanks? To his fans, of course, who he called the “best in the world.” He also made sure to thank country radio for playing his records. Lastly, but not least, he said he had to thank the Lord as he lifted the Fender award up proudly.

Scotty McCreery Talks With Taste of Country

These videos were posted on YouTube on 10/26 but I don't recall anyone posting them on here so if they have been posted - I'm Sorry :)               This is not a video from TOC - but I'm posting it here anyway :) Credi to: MyMusicRx

Scotty McCreery Dishes on Fondest Christmas Memories

Scott McCreery is in the holiday spirit! In a chat with Taste of Country, the ‘See You Tonight’ singer discusses gift giving, white Christmases and his favorite Christmas movies.
McCreery isn’t your traditional gift giver. He puts a lot of thought and effort into buying presents for his loved ones, and always gives them that extra personal touch.

“I try and think things out so it’s nothing grand or extravagant,” McCreery explains. “My sister’s a big Kenny Chesney fan so one year I bought her all these Kenny Chesney CDs. One year, mom said she didn’t want me to buy her anything because I was living out of a coin jar. I got her like a coupon book for washing a car and stuff like that, she loved that. And dad…it’s always sports stuff. Just little things like that that are personal.” No gift cards here!

The country singer grew up in North Carolina and he admits that since he lived there, he only experienced one white Christmas, and it made him forget all about Santa’s visit.
“I experienced a white Christmas once when I was really young and I barely remember it but I came downstairs for Christmas morning and Santa left all his presents down there and I was just like, ‘Forget Santa. I’m going outside and playing in the snow,’” he recalls. “I was so excited!”
Everyone has a favorite holiday movie, but it’s hard for the singer to pick just one. He has three that he likes to watch when the weather gets cold. Watch this clip and find out what movies Scotty McCreery likes to settle in with.

The 2011 American Idol champion performed at the Woodmen Community Center on Vernon Avenue in Kinston.

It was the annual free holiday concert sponsored by local country radio station WRNS. 500 tickets were given away over the last month by the radio station, the Woodmen Center and various other sponsors, including Bojangles'.

McCreery, a 20-year old sophomore at North Carolina State University, was born in Raleigh and raised in Garner.  We spoke with him about performing in Eastern North Carolina. He says, "Yeah for sure it's been a while since I've been out here to Eastern North Carolina. We're glad to be back and it's just a short drive away. Nice fans, nice people out here, and a good show with WRNS the country station and just ready to have some fun."  Fans didn't have to bring cash, but many brought canned goods to benefit the Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina.

Scotty McCreery has what it takes!

The long-term success rate of "American Idol" winners is spotty.
For every Carrie Underwood, there's a Taylor Hicks. Winning the singing talent show does not guarantee a years-long career. Dean Severance figures season 10 winner Scotty McCreery will be around for a while. Severance, known as Dean-O to his listeners, is the program director at local country music station WKML.

He said he thinks the 20-year-old Garner native has what it takes. "He has staying power," Severance said.
Today at 7:30 p.m., WKML is sponsoring a McCreery concert in A.D. Lewis Auditorium on the campus of Robeson Community College. The show is sold out.

McCreery won "American Idol" voters over in 2011 with his down-to-earth demeanor, coupled with a powerful singing voice. Severance said he believes McCreery has built a strong fan following in country music by stressing hometown values and professing Christian beliefs.  "There's a big hunger out there for really good kids, and he's a really good guy," Severance said. "When there's somebody who stands out, who has beliefs, who has standards and who lives by them, I think people are drawn to that."

Of course, in the entertainment business, all the good nature in the world doesn't mean a thing without talent. Severance said McCreery has that, in spades.  "See You Tonight," McCreery's latest album and single, are the best things the singer has released in his short career, Severance said.  "To make it, to have staying power, you have to find the right songs that are right for you and that connect with the audience," Severance said. "I think he's figuring that out, and I think as time goes by he's going to get better and better at that."

The sophomore album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Album chart and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart with sales of 52,000. Billboard says he is the second solo male act to debut at No. 1 with his first two albums of original material in 50 years. His first album, "Clear as Day," also was No. 1 two years ago.  The seats for McCreery's concert at A.D. Lewis Auditorium sold out quickly. The venue holds less than 1,000.  Severance said the show should be a fairly intimate evening with a singer whose career would seem to be just beginning. "I think people will feel like they're right on stage with him," Severance said.
