Scotty McCreery coming to Ashland

ASHLAND, Ky. -- American Idol winner Scotty McCreery will bring his See You Tonight Tour to the Paramount Arts Center in January.  In two short years, McCreery became one of country's hottest new stars, with album sales topping 1.6 million, including a platinum-selling debut album that made Billboard history.  It all started in 2010 when America fell in love with McCreery, then a shy 17-year-old boy with a wide smile, preternaturally deep voice and a love of faith, family and his hometown of Garner, N.C.

Five months after winning Season 10 of American Idol, he released his debut album, "Clear As Day," which became the best-selling solo album released by a country artist in 2011 and turned McCreery into the youngest man in history to have his first album debut atop the Billboard Top 200.
"Clear As Day" was certified platinum for sales of one million in just 13 weeks, and the first two singles from that album were each certified gold. In 2012, his Christmas album, "Christmas with Scotty McCreery," was also certified gold. He was named Top New Artist by Billboard and won best new artist awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards, the American Country Awards and the CMT Awards.
On his second studio album, "See You Tonight," which was released last month, the 20-year-old uses his bass voice and an irresistible sound to create the perfect blend of contemporary and traditional country.

Sponsored by WTCR, the Greater Ashland Beacon and the Kentucky Arts Council, the Ashland show is scheduled for 8 p.m. Jan. 24.   An online ticket presale begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27. Tickets can be purchased at the box office starting at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.  Tickets are $30, $35 and $40. For Trailblazer seats in the first five rows, call the box office at 606-324-3175.
