The first week of June 2012 was pretty sweet for Scotty McCreery. He went from accepting a CMT Music Award to accepting his high school diploma in less than 24 hours. The 2011 ‘American Idol’ winner chose to stay in school after finishing the show, and his senior year at Garner High School in Garner, N.C. was as typical as you’d expect. Football games, prom, a spot on the baseball team and graduation were as high on the priority list as opening slots on huge tours. “Ive enjoyed these last 4 years.. wouldn’t trade any of them for the world. #iamatrojan,” he tweeted after graduating. The following fall, he began his first semester at N.C. State University.

  1. Off topic but I was so happy Scotty was first on the CMT Award show. He looked as cute as ever. I know country music is changing, sad to say, what's with the rockers and rappers everyone is performing with . I really would like to see it a little more country. I didn't think it sounded like a country award show at all. Sure hope Scotty's video comes out soon. So anxious to see him doing a video. Thanks for this site. Ladies. Was Scotty sitting with some one? I only saw him in a quick scan of the audience.

  2. Scotty had a great 2011 year besides winning the American Idol--Off to the CMT MUSIC Awards to win A billboard Award for Trouble with Girls video>>>>>>>and most Impotent one is his Graduation. then came back to Nashville for CMA Music feast. and playing baseball, going to football games. and getting invited to Brad Paisley Tour. and CLEAR AS DAY going Platinum. and to top that ILYTB,TWG, went Gold. So I have to say is he had a busy year. I hope Scotty's video comes out soon. cause I am anxious to see it.

    he had won
