Scotty McCreery performs new single 'See You Tonight' on the Tonight Show

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 4, 2013 - Newcomer Scotty McCreery performed his brand new summer single "See You Tonight" on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night (June 3). Backed by a full band, the 19-year-old North Caroline State University student delivered the breezy track with confidence and charm, gripping onto a more modern sound while channeling his traditional flair. This track is the singer's first foray into songwriting. It was co-written with tunesmiths Ashley Gorley and Zach Crowell.

"So I’m comin’ over, I hope it’s alright," he croons over the song's rather catchy, anthemic chorus. "Listen for me pullin’ into your drive. Look out your window, you’ll see my lights. Baby, girl I gotta see you tonight."
"The way the breeze is blowin, blowin.' You got me wishin’ I was holdin’, holdin.' On to you so tight under that porch light. Girl, I gotta see you tonight, tonight, tonight," he continues.

As the lead offering from his forthcoming sophomore effort, McCreery revealed in April that he has been doing more songwriting on the new record than his Clear as Day debut. “I’m doing a lot more writing this time around and looking to hit on more topics that more people can relate to, some deep and touching and some lighthearted and fun,” he told CMT radio host Cody Alan.
“I’ve been fortunate to be able to take my time making this record, and it’s been fun for me to have a hand in writing songs for the album, which I wasn’t able to do with Clear As Day,” he explained. “I’m really proud of what we are working on in the studio right now and excited for the fans to hear new music that I’ve put my own stamp on.”
