Scotty McCreery - shares some memories of Idol Judge Randy Jackson

Singer Scotty McCreery attends the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 7, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 14, 2013 - American Idol champ Scotty McCreery is riding high on the success of his platinum-selling debut Clear as Day, which spawned three Top 40 hits, including "I Love You This Big" and "Water Tower Town." In 2012, he was crowned the Academy of Country Music's Best New Artist, as well as Artist of the Year: New Artist at the American Country Awards. With his new single "See You Tonight," the 19-year-old is setting his sights on his first chart-topping smash, as it entered the Top 50 on Billboard's Country Radio Airplay tally.

Of course, the singer-songwriter owes all his achievements to FOX's hit TV show and that season's esteemed panel, comprised of Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and industry musician and producer Randy Jackson. The latter of which is departing the series after a 12-year long run on the show.

McCreery caught up with The Hollywood Reporter to share his favorite memory of Jackson. "Randy was there from the beginning and added a huge element to the show with his experience and critique that will be truly missed. I loved having him on my season, but even with him gone, he'll always be 'America's dawg...," he said.

I really don't see why we can't keep Scotty on the i-tunes chart. He was on the other day at N089,and last night at 100.Today he's off again. He sells albums like crazy, they are so expensive vs1.29cents,and we can't get him up on the chart. How is he going to hit the top 30 ,if we down get the fans to start downloading his new single.I can't figure this one out, every concert sold out he sales should be going up,not backwards.

  3. It seems as if everyone have an conspiracy aganist Scotty. He is so popular with the fans, and then his fan base is so large and steadly growing he is a threat to the other country stars. They always cheat him out of some of his points, especially CODY 5. What a joke. GOD BLESS U SCOTTY AND YOUR SWEET GABI, U AND YOUR WHOLE CREW AND FAMILY. You just keep on doing what is right in the eyesight of God almighty. GRANDMA IN TX.

  5. Scotty won out on WSIX a number of times over the big names for the top six on heartland..I don't think the big guys like that to much.Something is wrong when his song is so much better than half the stuff they play.he gets the most votes on the two stations for the top song, but yet they refuse to play it all the time. The other day when he came back at 87 on itune charts is when they played all his songs at that radio station, before his concert, and he was there as a guest. When you get exposure the people eventually start buying the music. It seems like the stions are doing the same tridks they did before.
