NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 11, 2013 - American Idol season 11 champ and rising Country star Scotty McCreery returned to the stage tonight to debut his brand new summer single "See You Tonight." As the lead offering from his forthcoming sophomore effort, McCreery has Cupid's bow aimed at the hearts of every teenage girl across the country. This follows the platinum success of his 2011 debut disc, Clear as Day -- which has sold 1.2 copies to-date.

On "See You Tonight," the 19-year-old freshman of North Caroline State University has modernized his traditionalism in favor of a more contemporary sound, sampling predecessors Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts. “So I’m comin’ over, I hope it’s alright," he croons over the song's rather catchy, anthemic chorus. "Listen for me pullin’ into your drive. Look out your window, you’ll see my lights. Baby, girl I gotta see you tonight."  He continues, "The way the breeze is blowin, blowin.' You got me wishin’ I was holdin’, holdin.' On to you so tight under that porch light. Girl, I gotta see you tonight, tonight, tonight.”

Tapping into his signature super bass vocals and infusing the lyrics with his Southern charm, McCreery will certainly have that radio hit he's been seeking. Ever since taking to the studio, he has been hammering out potential album cuts with many of Music City's most pristine songwriters, including Zach Crowell. “I’m doing a lot more writing this time around and looking to hit on more topics that more people can relate to, some deep and touching and some lighthearted and fun,” he tells CMT radio host Cody Alan. “I’ve been fortunate to be able to take my time making this record, and it’s been fun for me to have a hand in writing songs for the album, which I wasn’t able to do with Clear As Day,” he explains. “I’m really proud of what we are working on in the studio right now and excited for the fans to hear new music that I’ve put my own stamp on.”

  1. I love it .maybe thats why Keith acted sop diconnected when Scotty performed on idol .he is affraid Scotty stole his sound oh come on Keith we know and you he is way better then you. I erased America idol from my recording line up after 12 years never missing a show im done .they were rude to Scotty and thats not going to cut it . Im not supporting that.

  2. I thought they treated Scotty poorly as well, but at least he got to launch his song on TV, which made apple i tunes go up to #26 all genre, #11 on top 100 country. A friend wrote that a lot on twitter was upset as well. janfan

  3. Video is now on youtube,in case any one wants to leave a supporting comment. It's great.Love these No from the i-tunes ,hope we can keep it climbing. Now all we need to get is a video, and that should make it soar

  4. I Love IT. that is great that he at least got to Launch his song on TV. WE shouldn't think that way and think that is the way the judges were on Scotty, lets just think of wonderful thoughts. we need to think on happy thoughts Ya'll. Isn't it great that Scotty's song will go to #1 cause that is what he wants. all we need to do now is help Scotty to get that song reach to #1. We love him so much.
