Scotty McCreery will perform at the Opry April 13th

Scotty McCreery will be at the

Grand Ole Opry House Sat., 04/13/2013 7:00 p.m.

“I’ve always dreamed of having a career in country music,” Scotty says. “I just never thought it could happen. I had never really given myself a chance. Idol gave me the chance and I ran with it. I’m having a good time.”
As the season 10 winner and youngest male winner ever of the TV show American Idol, Scotty McCreery became the person 38.6 million viewers tuned in to watch. A week later, he made country music history when his debut single, “I Love You This Big,” earned the highest debut for a new artist’s first single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart since at least 1984. The song, which hit the Top 20 in seven weeks, is one of the fastest-rising debut singles for a new country artist in history.
He’s released his debut album, Clear As Day, in the fall of 2011, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 10, 2011.
“My music is obviously country and it has some old influences in it,” he says, “I love a contemporary feel with an old soul in it.”
His producer, Mark Bright, feels the same way. “He is an old soul. It is an incredible thing, that someone that age fully understands what is before him and is completely unaffected by that. I have never seen anything like it in my life. He loves it and he understands the opportunity he’s been given and he wants to work to take advantage of that opportunity.”

  1. The Opry just loves Scotty. They know talent when they see it. They can see the love and respect he has for The Opry and all the performers that have graced that stage. I know he will be a member someday.
Oh, and packing the house everytime he is scheduled to appear doesn't hurt either.

  5. Scotty has everything talent-wise, popularity-wise and personality-wise that the Opry is looking for in a member. I think they definitely have their sites set on him for membership in the not-too-distant future. He just needs a new record with some good songs on it (which I know he will), and I would love him to do an old style song on the Opry some time like "In Color" acoustically since he sounds so amazing on that one or else maybe "Folsom Prison Blues" which I think he knocks out of the park, or something else old school. His voice is just so spectacular on those older songs, but then he can nail a fast song too and make everyone go crazy!! Such talent!!! Such charisma!!! I am just mesmerized by it.

    1. Me too so much. he does knock's them into the park. I am so proud of him so much. they do love him cause when he was on it last bill anderson ask him to come back. right then I could tell that they love our Scotty and that sure did make me happy. I can't wait in the near future for them to make him a member. if he did 'in color' on the opry that would go up the roof. we do go crazy when he is on it. it makes me cry to know that they love him as much as we do. way to go Scotty. we all love so much.
