If McCreery is hoping to introduce his new album to country radio with a sexy mid-tempo track, than ‘Rock This Night’ is an excellent candidate. Despite his status a Platinum-selling country music superstar, the North Carolina native has yet to hit his stride at radio — a notion McCreery understands going into his new album.
“You know, in the last year I’ve won awards, I’ve had sold out shows across the country, but I haven’t had that big radio hit yet,” the ‘American Idol’ told Taste of Country. “So that’s my mission right now. So I’ve got to go out there and try to find it.”
If ‘Rock This Night’ isn’t chosen as his next single, the singer has superb choices with ‘Suntan’ and ‘See You Tonight,’ both of which were also previewed live recently. ‘See You Tonight’ is McCreery’s only co-write of the bunch, but the former ‘American Idol’ winner hopes to show off his ever-evolving writing talents soon.
“Some of the guys from Nashville will follow us on the road so in our spare time we can write, and [I'll also] find a few days for me to go to Nashville [to write] as well, so I’m excited,” the student by day, singer by night says. “It will be the first time for me to have a cut of mine on the album.”
McCreery’s forthcoming studio album is the follow up to his 2010 ‘Clear as Day’ debut, which produced the Top 15 song, ‘I Love You This Big.’ The North Carolina State University coed is currently criss-crossing the country on his Weekend Roadtrip 2013 Tour — his first headlining outing.

ReplyDeleteThis song is so catchy and rocks! I wonder if Scotty will select it as a single? Seems to me I heard him say somewhere, they want to get a single out pretty quick! RTN is so different from anything he's done! I love it and the crowd here are really into it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "Rock This Night"!!! It really showcases his unique tone in this voice.

ReplyDeleteJohn Moser who wrote the great article review on Scotty at the Sands,in Bethlehem,Pa is a senior writer for the Morning call in Allentown,Pa.That is about 30 miles from where I live.Hopefully that is going to bring a lot more fans over for Scotty from this area.I'm so happy for him,and it's so hard to think he's only 19 out there doing a headliner concert already. He's one brave, and talented young man.His new songs are all awesome, and so is the artist.
I like all 3 songs but the one for me is “SEE YOU TONIGHT” because Scotty co – writer plus it is so beautiful and so Scotty
ReplyDeleteTo think, these are only three of his songs from his new album, and each one has potential to be a hit on the radio. I love them all! I'm glad I don't have to decide which one to release as a single!
