Scotty McCreery is the new face of country music in America.

ANOTHER GREAT REVIEW FROM OPENING NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM, PA

scotty-12

On the opening night of a tour you would expect a few technical difficulties or mistakes, that wasn’t the case for Scotty McCreery though. He took to the stage with a brand new song and got the night going in a grand fashion that would remain for the rest of the night in the Sands Event Center.

By the time I was allowed into the photo pit to begin capturing the performance on second song, “Water Tower Town,” the crowd was already singing so loudly I could barely even hear myself think. It was hard to believe that this was the first show of the tour because Scotty McCreery made it seem so effortless and well rehearsed, almost as if he had been doing this for years already. The performance had everything from huge beach balls in the audience, an amazing duet performance of “The Dance” with Sarah Darling, and a whole bunch of brand new songs for all the fans.

I can’t say enough for how truly talented Scotty McCreery is, his live performance and vocals surpass expectations tenfold. Keep an eye out for his new album to be released in 2013 and buy tickets to a show of “The Weekend Roadtrip” tour because Scotty McCreery is the new face of country music in America.

  1. Hey, this is what us McCreerians have been trying to tell y'all since his step into the public eye began. JLo, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson saw it, too, during his American Idol audition and they were all RIGHT ON THE MONEY, and so are we!!! Even the naysayers will have to change their minds and radio conglomerates, too! We have loved you since the beginning, Scotty, we LOVE you more now and we'll be that way until we die!!! I AM SO PROUD TO BE A CRAZY FAN OF THIS MEGA-TALENTED ARTIST!!!

    1. Yes, we will and it won't die down even when Scotty gets a little older, gets married and has a family so it is not that he a cute little eligible bachelor who has "sex appeal" or whatever (though that is certainly part of his package). It is everything about him that we love -- his amazing voice and talent, his humility and integrity, superior work ethic, kindness and respect for his predecessors and peers, his sense of humor and his commitment to the greater good; a proud American who gives honor where honor is due, and who has a mindset to give back. What an American Idol this guy is. He may well be the male equivalent of Carrie Underwood in terms of success, just a little more traditional country. Please do not misunderstand. Though Carrie is a little more mainstream these days in terms of her musical style, her talent cannot be denied, and Scotty's talent also cannot be denied!!!

  3. My husband and I think it will be more than CU fame...more like Elvis fame in his future, even make movies down the road, if he so chooses. The sky is the limit for his unbelieveable talent. We are looking forward to seeing Scotty at the Strawberry Festival and NC state fair again this year for now, though. Plus of course his new album, and wish he would hurry up and release a song to radio. Can hardly wait!! janfan

    1. Agree! I've said from the start he is comparable to Elvis with his talent. It's just ironic that he has always loved Elvis too. Now he's going to be a king of what ....country rock 'n roll? Sounds good to me. He's great and going to be greater!

  9. Some or many fans are worried about radioplay for our Scotty. I found this interesting piece of info posted on MJ´s blog by a commenter called H.A.

The music industry is changing rapidly. Labels are no longer going to be depending on radio for their artists. They are tired of paying off PDs to play artists and by bribing them they have to be selective in which artists they
all willing to spend their money on radio hits for a return.

Labels care less about radio/paying radio. Who you pay off in music is changing

Streaming, not downloading, is the future

Artists used to be owned. Now they're partner

Monetizing experiences is the way things are moving

New artists want to be the owners of their work...social media gives artists more leverage to be owner

Artists are being pushed more now by labels to promote themselves through social media.

Billboard has already started inacting changes on how artists popularity are viewed.

Vevo by removing bot streaming to get a better accuracy of Artists streaming will count towards billboard charts.

Two different artists, two different revenue streams(in thousands)

    Gotye
    Streaming $721k
    Track Download $680k
    CD $417K
    Album $406K

    Adele
    Streaming $144K
    Track Download $141K
    Album $1,092K
    CD $4,555K

Labels will no longer be relying on radio, singles, and album sales as their only revenue.
