‘American Idol’ winner Scotty McCreery does the 'Harlem Shake'

On Feb. 21, “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery took his 2013 Weekend Roadtrip Tour to Pittsburgh and took his fans by surprise. That’s because in the middle of his concert, he busted in to the “Harlem Shake,” a new dance craze that’s gone viral and has replaced "Gangnam Style.”
At the beginning of the YouTube video, Scotty and his band tune up their instruments, while one member dances around in a wolf mask. Several seconds later, McCreery and his band begin dancing, as well as the entire Pittsburgh audience. Seeing a country singer do the “Harlem Shake” is just one of those classic moments you have to see and share with others. Be sure to check it out below.
Scotty posted the video close to midnight on Feb. 22, right after the show. There are already hundreds of positive comments posted on Facebook about Scotty’s “Harlem Shake.” Below are a few from Friday.

In 2011, Scotty McCreery defeated Lauren Alaina to become “American Idol’s” youngest male winner, as well as the show's first country male winner. Since then, he quickly emerged as country music's most successful new artist.
McCreery's first studio album, “Clear As Day,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts. He became the youngest man in history to open at the top of the all-genre chart with a debut release. The album garnered the highest sales of any country solo album released last year, held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for six weeks, and earned Platinum status in just thirteen weeks.
Scotty won New Artist of the Year at both the 2011 American Country Awards and the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards. He also won the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for "The Trouble With Girls" at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. McCreery was ranked No. 1 on Billboard's list of Top New Country Artists for 2011 also earned the No. 4 spot on Billboard's 2012 List of the Top 21 Under 21. Scotty spent most of 2012 opening for Brad Paisley's Virtual Reality Tour 2012. He's currently on the road with his Weekend Roadtrip Tour.
