CMT OFFSTAGE: Scotty McCreery's Motivational College Posters

Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery
(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Yes, Scotty McCreery is a country star on the weekends. But during the week, he's really just another college freshman at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. So he's doing some decorating in his campus apartment. I'm picturing some milk-crate shelves, a couple of Ikea desk lamps, a big television and maybe some other man-cave accoutrements.

But all that McCreery has done so far, according to CMT Radio, is put some posters on the walls. "I got a few posters in my room like a big blue marlin poster that Guy Harvey [a marine wildlife artist] sent me. I've got that beside my bed," McCreery said. "I got my big Rocky poster above my desk, so anytime I'm feeling a little down on paper I can just look up and say, 'Come on, get going like Rocky!'" McCreery opted for an apartment with his hometown friends instead of the university's dorms.
