    2. If done right, that particular song should make a real tear jerker video. Can't wait.

  3. Do you feel the hug? I just sent a great big teddy bear Christmas hug to Becky for the videos and Donna for posting them. It is much appreciated. I so enjoy watching and listening to Scotty. He did a great job as usual and hopefully picked up a few new fans while he was doing what he loves. Thank you both!! You made this fan's day!

  4. I loved the show but wish it had more more of Scotty. He always sounds so good but especially love when he does songs in his lower range. I am a fan of his big time and get teased all the time because I talk about him like he is one of my grandkids. So looking forward to his next CD as I know it will be another great one. Just went to a Leann Rimes concert and I started talking about Scotty with the people around me and they all said they would love to see him do a concert in Portland Oregon. Hoping that will happen in the new year.

    2. I think this was probably GAC's Christmas special or something -- it's still good exposure for Scotty --

  5. Thank you so much Becky for taking these great videos!! I don't have GAC so I was so sad that I could't watch last night. You have made my day! At least I could view a little of the show. Scotty was wonderful, as always!

  6. He sings great! Though I just wish he wouldn't close his eyes too much during his performances - He didn't before, but I've noticed that he has been doing this for quite some time now, for some reason -

    1. Me too!! Love his beautiful blue eyes!! Also missed Scotty's band!!!

      Delete
    2. I'm 11:57 AM. - I think there is better interaction with the audience when your eyes are open. Scotty is so much more "alive" and energetic/expressive when he sings with his eyes open. And, yes, his band is great! It would have been ideal for the artists to have their own bands with them, but I think that would have been quite a bigger production. But it was a nice little TV special and good exposure for Scotty and the other artists as well.

    3. I agree about him closing his eyes. I have noticed it also. I love him so much and really enjoy seeing his eye contact with people (plus he has such beautiful eyes). Also, this is just a personal preference, but I like it when he holds the microphone more and moves around instead of standing at the mic. Regardless, he has the best voice and personality of ANYONE and HE WILL ALWAYS BE #1!!!! ABSOLUTE LOVE HIM!!!!

      Delete
    4. The stage was very small and intimate kinda hard to dance around and move alot . I thought it was perfect and when hitting the high notes most artist close their eyes .

      Delete
    5. Also have noticed increase in how much more he's been closing his eyes during performances regardless of high notes. Less connection with audience when he does this and wonder why it's increased as of late. Stephano took some criticim for closing his eyes too much in AI performances, so kinda surprised to see Scotty developing the habit when working the audience has worked so well for him. I also agree with 12:35 about taking mic and moving around as he seems more interactive with audience when he does so. Glad CCRA is going to be new video, as this is prob. my fav on album.

  7. Thanks Becky for the videos. I notice its set up like a dinner theater. Being a Christmas special, I'm disappointed that the artists didn't dress up like its a festive occasion. Way too casual for my liking, and in fact, I think the shirt Scotty's wearing is the same one he wore at the Beacon Theater in New York! I stand to be corrected but I think that's the case! On a better note, the video here of Scotty singing SCIBIT is awesome, he really rocked that song!

  8. I'm thinking, Scotty at this stage of his career maybe does better being a special guest on a show or a tour, or he and his band holding their own show leaving out duets and guests for now. Just my opinion!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Where I said 'leaving out duets and guests for now' I really mean indefinitely. I think the greats that rose to fame didn't entertain guests and do duets with them, they made it on their own eg: Elvis! Scotty has an awesome voice and it is a treat to see he and his band perform a whole show or be a special guest! Again, I may be out to lunch, but its how I see it!

      Delete
    2. I highly disagree . All the artist do duets . The show was great I have no complaints with anything he does Im just happy to be his fan and I enjoyed the other artist they were all great.

      Delete
    3. Elvis sang with plenty of other artist .

      Delete
    4. 3:07pm Who did Elvis sing with?? He had many background singers but I don't ever recall him doing duets or a show with guests?

      Delete
    5. This is 3:20pm I stand corrected Elvis did duets in some of his movies, but they were done in recording studios..quite a difference!

      Delete
    6. frank Senatra was live .Ann Margaret Jerry lee Lewis and at least one person in all his movies .it doesn't matter its still a collaboration of him and another artist . Most singers start a duet in a studio . Those duets sounded very good .

      Delete
    7. Johnny Cash had his own highly acclaimed television series where he not only sang duets but entertained many guests. Guests who have become just as famous as he was. So I have to disagree with you on that one. And I think he did a decent job of hosting for what it was. He could have had more airtime in my opinion but overall it was a fantastic show, it helped generate sales for the album and it was good exposure.

      Delete
  9. Well I have nothing to complain about. I simply enjoy watching and listening to Scotty talking and singing and the way he is and does.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I think this is all part of getting Scotty used to different types of shows/performances as he continues to grow as an artist and also for him to feel more comfortable as a performer in different venues - it's really a good learning experience for all new artists and rising stars, and also good exposure to different types of audiences -

    ReplyDelete
  11. I loved it - agree there should have been more Scotty, but for hs first time hosting a TV special, he did great. I loved all the Christmas stories. Him saying there were a lot of houses, and they didn't want Santa to miss the McCreery home, brought back so many memories of my children when they were young.
If Christmas is Coming Around is really going to be a video, then I am very happy - this is my favorite of the two originals. He has not sung it in concert though

    1. I really like the song, Christmas Coming Around Again - I actually prefer it to Christmas In Heaven - His version of Jingle Bells is my fave on his Christmas album CWSM --

      Delete
    2. Jingle Bells and CCAA are definitely top 5 on my list for the album. His version of JB is my all time favorite of that song. I loved how he revamped that song. A total hit out of the park.

It was very nice to hear another version of Mary Did You Know? I enjoyed it very much but love, love, love when Scotty sings that song.

    3. It's funny because I can see a good movie, read a good book, and listen to many classic artist and new artists cds and like them all very much and not know the name of them, but with Scotty I come on this website and know the names of his albums (I know only 2, but if you knew me you would be impressed), and know the names of the songs and where it is on the album without looking - JB #3 and CCRA #8, Clear As Day #3, Better Than That #7, and Dirty Dishes #9. It cracks my family up! Ha! Ha!

    1. Thank you so much for letting us know about the video!! I love CICAA. It has a little bluegrass feel to it. I definitely will not dislike Monday as much as I normally do!! In the future, I'll need a Scotty fix every Monday morning!!

I loved the Christmas Special, but was surprised he didn't at least have a jacket (nice burgandy jacket would have looked great) over the shirt for the ocassion. I really enjoyed the other performers and enjoyed them all very much, but wish they had given us a few more of Scotty, too. Maybe limited the talking a little bit and had Scotty do two additional songs. Also, a quick festive closing number from all of them would have been great. I know that is not all up to Scotty. He can't control it. I love all the exposure and truly like the other artists! It was a very sweet Christmas special - not over done, just some very lovely songs sung well and some nice Christmas memories. Great job!

    1. I agree and the venue was very rustic and intimate I think the attire was appropriate for the look of the show . Its country . On the CMA special he will be dressed to the hilt . My favorite way to see Scotty is in the summer on stage in Jeans and tee shirt he is only 19 . I think he is most comfortable in a casual dress . I really don't care if he wore the same shirt that he did at the Beacon . I would rather concentrate on his performance . Singing with other artist gives him exposure to their fans as well . I loved all of the other artist that performed . I think its highly unlikely that one person was asked and there was a schedule conflict I think Mrs Mccreery was just being Nice . But I'm not getting into that.

  17. Thank you Becky and Donna. We appreciate everything you post for us. Yes I too think he did Great. This was his first Christmas special and He did Good. I loved the way he talked about the kids over in the Dominion Republic and how it touched him It had to him, because it touched me just him talking about it. Christmas in Heaven gets to me everytime. He is just so good at story telling and I feel so close to my husband that passed away when he sings that song. I think Christmas is coming around again should make a good video. It really tells a story of family, friends and coming back in the church well I think it should be a good one. Proud of you Scotty and we love seeing you on TV and in your concerts. ILYTB

  18. I looked it up too and it IS listed on GAC airtime a video at 7:17 am Christmas Comin Round Again by Scotty McCreery. Wonder why no one tweeted or emailed or announced it somehow???? Got my larm set! Elvis' Blue Christmas one is on at 6:46am. eastern time.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah you would think they would want people to know because its Scotty and we all want to see it. You would think it would have been announced.

    ReplyDelete
  20. So GAC let the cat out of the bag last when when I emailed them about Scotty and they said they just received his video and we'd be seeing it soon!!! Excited but my wish was for WW or LIS, an upbeat more playful side...So many Christmas songs are sad and I personally think CCAA or CIH are sad. And I personally don't like sad VIDEOS.I appreciate why Scotty chose that song,If those songs make people feel better, then he has accomplished what he wanted to. but I would have liked something different. But I am so thrilled that there will be a video thst the McCreerians can vote on. Scotty has the absolute best voice for this type music. As for his special, I am just so happy that he got to host his own special. Sure maybe there were things he might have done differently but he did what was comfortable for him. I think it is harder to make eye concert in a more intimate setting. Eye contact can really make a song better. It'll all come.We see the effect of this when he does look at someone and how people react, by screaming. I wish that when he isn't singing and the band is playing that he could look at the audience...he looks at the band the whole time till it is time for him to sing again. He has a hard time making eye contact at those times. That will come again in time. I know in public speaking that you should look at people. Inexperienced speakers tend to look above the audience or off to one side and to the other side. Scotty has great stage presence for someone as young as he is, but he is still inexperience in some ways. It is only going to get better. He gets better every time he sings and all those other things, he'll get better in time. All in all I think he was great. I think he is going to make some noise in 2113. Thanks girls for your hard work. am thrilled...I love even just seeing this kid. He brings a smile to my face. McCreerians will have to get that voting going and keep him on the GAC chart

    1. To the above commenter.. you've got too much complaints.. I suggest you just imagine yourself in scotty's shoes.. what would it going to be.. a much better show ? or almost the same ? or a worst one ? It's normal that theory is much much easier than practical ! To me scotty has done his best as the programme producer want it to be..

      Delete
    2. Well, for me, maybe Scotty could keep his eyes open more when he's singing and look at someone in the audience now and then....but when its just the band and he's not singing, acknowledging the band seems ok to me.
Wouldn't it be a little awkward to just stare out at the audience during that time??? What's he suppose to do that's better.. maybe a little step dance..Ha!Ha! just kidding!!!

  21. I personally think the show was great,He's a humble kid,and he did a great job.The first song he sang the lighting was much brighter, and I think it was hitting him in the eyes,After that all the lighting was toned down and darker for all the other performances,He's a singer, and his vocals were excellent ,he didn't miss a beat.He looked great, and sounded great also.IThere was not a thing wrong with his shirt,he looked handsome, they all were dressed casual.Someone put the show together, and Scotty had to what he had to do..He's on the shy side and he he a great performer give this kid a break already,I really don't know what some of you want him to do to please all of you.

  22. To me when he closes his eyes he is feeling his music he is so passionate when he sings. It also seems like a few months ago people were complaining he did not interact with the band now he does and there is still complaining maybe he will get it right this coming year.He is 19 years old he is doing a great job for some one that age and only been doing this for a little over a year.I really enjoyed the show last night he sang great and looked great.I can't wait for the video what ever song it is I'm sure it will be great Todd is doing a great job and I can't wait to see what he does next year.

    1. I can not believe how all of you that have been comlaining. what he should do or not do. He did a great job on the special and he sang 3 songs and did a GREAT JOB. THE AUDIENCE LOVED HIM. THE AUDIENCE LOVED HIM SINGING SCIBIT. SO WHAT IF HE CLOSE'S HIS EYES. HE FEELING THE MUSIC. AT HIS CONCERTS HE DOES MOVE AROUND AND CERTAINLY MADES EYE CONTACT WITH THE AUDIENCE. SO PLEASE SET BACK AND JUST ENYOY ARE BOY, SCOTTY. HE IS DOING A WONDERFUL JOB.

    2. I can't believe anyone thinks it okay to tell other fans how they should view any and every thing. Comments are for purpose of one's own opinion; not a group concensus or lecture to comments of others. It's pointless to even try and participate within such controlling mentality.

      Delete
    3. 8:43 PM well said and I think that you can tell when he is singing that he is feeling the music and that it is coming from the heart. My mama always told me when I had to sing solos, just sing from the heart and it will be ok. You know that was good advise, because I have heard many sing and sing absolutely beautiful but you can tell there is no emotion in it, they just stand and look at you. However; when one sings from the heart you can sense the depth in their singing. I feel that Scotty does this from all the videos and shows I have seen of him. I also feel that being on a show is a little different than being in concert and performing and he probably has more freedom to move and interact with the audience than what he would on this special. I think he did wonderful.

    4. I AGREE WITH 8:43 AND 9:36 VERY WELL SAID. SCOTTY IS DOING AN AWESOME JOB WITH EVERYTHING HE DOES. I DIDN'T GET TO SEE THE SPECIAL BUT I SAW THE VIDEOS AND SCOTTY DID AN AWESOME JOB.

  23. The judges on American Idol once told a contestant to try and keep their eyes open when performing, it helps to connect with the audience and them. Im sure Scotty is performing the song the way that he feels comfortable. But I do feel more connected with the performer when they are looking at us while performing. Scotty is great regardless. I wonder if he ever gets a chance to read our comments on this site.

  26. gee this is off the subject of Scotty, but i just seen a video on youtube with Philip Philips doing a song at Disney world singing I'll be home for Christmas.,and it is the worst ever, and this guy sold over a million singles or more on his go figure this one out.I couldn't believe how bad he sounds, and it's clear he put his spin on it,and it's really not good.He sounds worst then me.and I can't sing a note..Scotty I love you...your the best.

    1. I started listening and had to turn it off imidiately. Plain awful. Philip, " the singer/ songwriter" who can´t sing and who hasn´t written one single impressive song. I bet they gave him that label to avoid people focusing on his poor voice. Funny thing nobody can find his fan base. His single was pushed and he was promoted like no other at a time where AI has to prove it´s worth. It´s more than likely that AI is behind P´s "selling power"

      Delete
    2. Yes and Philip doesn't have to share his spot light .and have a tag along with everything he does a.d. have it shoved in his face. I'm still mad about that . Jessica is on her own.he can't song what's All the hype about?

      Delete
    3. The hype is artificielly produced. You can bet on that because AI needs to be able to brag about them producing "superstars". If they admit to P´s non existant talent Ai would look bad and ratings would go down. I bet trating will go down no matter what but they are trying to create an impression. That´s why they chose those wierd female judges.

  27. I wish everyone would quit getting upset over people expressing their thoughts, not attacking him. So someone would likes a jacket, someone else would have liked WW or LIS, some want to see his eyes more. I don't think people are complaining. Scotty did great, looked good, sounded good, we all know that.I would venture to say everyone here at sometime or another said they wish someone did this or that differently, maybe thought someone would look better in a certain color or different hair style, whatever, even in your family,or in any area of life. but that doesn't mean you were hating on that person. Scotty probably appreciate hearing what his fans like or dislike. It gives him an idea of where to go.If people say "Scotty you look better in a certain color", it doesn't mean that he doesn't look good. It's that person's preference. I love him in blue, I love him playing the guitar, I love a certain song over another, but I LOVE SCOTTY as well anyway he looks or sings etc. BOTTOM LINE I LOVE SCOTTY. That is what counts.

Scotty fans attacking other fans does not show love for Scotty. It shows that some people want to control what others think, feel and say regardless and don't care if they make his fan site a battlefield.

    3. I went and signed a partition to change the ratings on country billboard back the way it was .they Count crossover on the Pop stations as well .that's why Taylors songs might not do well on country charts but the Pop charts push her to number one same thing with Kelly Clarkston she isn't even country . Most of Taylors fans are Pop fans but because they request and buy her music it counts on country radio as well .its really stupid but her label throws alot of money around .same goes for Hunter Hayes that's why he catapulted to number one . Her Pop fans buy his stuff because of her tour with him. It was a really interesting article. The day country music died I think that was it . It explained alot . Good old real country singers can't even hit number one Taylor just sits there . country fans tend to buy the whole CD Pop fans will buy on iTunes individual songs . That's how they determine who gets played not by the amour of album sales. When Scotty releases a single from his next album we have to buy it on iTunes also and request . His fan base consist PC many older people so buying from iTunes might be a problem .Taylor and Hunter fans are young and buy most music from iTunes .its a stupid way to figure out who gets on the charts and moves up .
Meranda Carrie and other great country singers songs will peak at number 3 but might not hit number one because songs like never ever ever getting back together gets number one many true country stations won't play that song because it's not country I hear it on Pop stations constantly . Get whole CD Red is Pop .but he'd single releases will hit number one on country charts because of the way they configure it . Really stupid .

    4. Cumulus owns stations of all genres and they love to be able to have the music generic enough to play on their pop, easy listening, and country stations like Lady A, HH, Carrie, Taylor. They own many stations in NYC and suburbs. The one and only country station here is owned by Cumulus and it plays a lot of them, but it also plays more traditional country like Lee Brice, Tim, Brad, Josh etc.
NYC doesn't have a country station, but they have all other forms of music and middle eastern and many Spanish stations, but not one country. It's sad that wonderful music like country with real musicians and unique song are not heard in one of the biggest cities in the world.

  33. just a note everyone of the artist on that special closed their eyes and Carrie does to . Passionate singers who sing from their diaphragm close their eyes . You might want to go watch some videos its normal . Its almost uncontrollable . But when Scotty is being interviewed he looks the person right in their eyes and speaks beautiful and with a mature intelligence . I heard that in a theater setting the artist can't even see the audience . I went to see Scotty at the American music theater in Lancaster PA and they flashed the spot light the same one that was on Scotty and it blinded me.

  38. Hear ye Hear ye!

One more comment---to everyone who is commenting about Scotty's performance and his mannerisms and his wardrobe on the Christmas show. I feel like you are ALL missing the MOST IMPORTANT THING about Scotty and his success.

How many Christmas shows like this one put in a segment on Operation Christmas Child or encourage the audience to choose an angel from the Christmas tree for underprivileged children? Those are the things that make Scotty so extra special when compared to other performers. Changing his wardrobe or his eye contact may help him fit some mold of a super star performer but Scotty has his eyes(closed or open) FOCUSED ON THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. He is one who knows the TRUE meaning of this season.

Scotty has amazing talent and he is a handsome guy. All of us can improve on the way we do things and Scotty would probably appreciate all the suggestions and comments on here, but let's all be happy about the fact that Scotty knows what's truly important in this life and he's not afraid to share it or live it. I am proud of the wonderful way that Scotty continues to "Seek first the kingdom..."

By the way Matthew 6:33 says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU."

  39. I loved the layed-back approach to the Christmas Special. It was heart warming, genuine, and very nice . It was sweet and intimate. I get it Scotty and Friends. Thanks for letting it be more simple with beautifully performed music. I thoroughly enjoyed it

  41. To 1:28 I think everyone here appreciates what Scotty does and his focus being what it is. I don't think anyone here said they didn't like Scotty's performance. You said you're sure Scotty would like all the comments and suggestions. So why get upset about people's preferences? He is a remarkable young man, there's no doubt it. He does many charitable things we know. And I am as big a fan or even more so than many here. I am totally invested in this man and I don't like that people say I didn't enjoy his show or if I wished for a different video, that I am not a fan. I have never put him down or not loved everything he does. We all have our favorites...song, clothing etc.And I absolutely think he cares about people, does good. But you can't say that others don't do wonderful things as much or even more than him. The most charitable people in the music industry are country music singers. Lots of charity, lots of benefits, donations and the sort. Scotty stands out because that's who we watch and love. There are many Public Service Announcements by country stars seeking people to back a cause, chair certain events, many similar videos of those going out of the country to do wonderful things...they give of their time and resources. It's not fair to assume he's the only one doing such things. Maybe you don't know because you don't follow them. Again, no one is complaining about Scotty. And those who share a different view are not the problem,But those who accuse those expressing different views or say they aren't a fan are the problem here. It's those who won't all them to express themselves who are not opened minded. I think everyone was proud of Scotty and loved his show. No one says they didn't.

    1. Dear 2:40

I (1:28) am writing a reply to your reply--just to clear up a few things I think you may have taken the wrong way. My wording is not always clear and I am sorry for any misunderstanding.

First, I didn't say that Scotty would "like" all the comments and suggestions. LOL! I said that he would "appreciate" them. None of us really likes to get criticism or self improvement suggestions--but we can definitely appreciate them and learn from them.

Second, I NEVER said that Scotty was the "ONLY" entertainer who did "charitable" things or cared about other people. Good gracious, we all know about celebrities helping others (Bob Hope entertaining the troops, the Beatles singing for Bangladesh, benefits done for tsunami victims etc.) Even the American Idol show raised millions of dollars to help others. What I was trying to say, was that I was disappointed that more people didn't COMMENT on THAT PART of his show, on THAT PART of Scotty's image(not his eyes or his clothes or his microphone). His faith along with his wonderful voice and personality endear him to many fans. I feel like we can all get so entrenched in the superficial stuff in this life that we miss the truly important things. Even if all the comments on here had been totally POSITIVE --I would still be disappointed if no one had mentioned Scotty's willingness to share his faith and his caring attitude for others.

Bottom line: There are lots of comments on here--- both glowing praise and well thought out criticisms--but in the end--it's all superficial stuff. I was just hoping that more people would comment on the bigger, more important aspects of Scotty's life...his faith and his love for God. All the other things in his career will fall into place in due time.

BTW I know that everyone that comments on here loves Scotty. I think we all know that. He has a diverse and great group of fans who all want the best for him.

    3. Well I appreciated 2:40's comment as it was voice of refreshing reason. 2:40, It sounds like you are overly sensitive in regard to your disappointments to others comments. Why be so concerned that others don't see or comment according to your expectations. Why have such expectations of what you want others to take notice of. Expectations like you mention are going to lead to disappointment and then it sounds like you want us all to see and speak from your perspective. We're different and pick up on different things at different times. That's what makes the comments interesting for me, but because people like your self have criteria for what we should and should not comment on, it makes participating in comments a nightmare. What's wrong with letting everyone comment on what they choose as it relates to Scotty instead of commenting on what other fans should be saying or not saying.

  42. Did anyone see the video? I read that it was suppose to have aired on Cmt. at 6:17 this morning.Got up early but no video.I didn't check out GAC. so I was wondering if it aired. While I was on CMT they had C.Underwoods live video at a show singing Blown away, and her eyes are closed 95% of the time thru the whole song, and she never looked into the audience until it was over, not even once.Check it out the people who are making comments about Scotty eyes being closed. It's her new video called Carrie Underwood Blown away (unplugged).the whole video yes are closed, and no contact with the audience whatsoever.

  43. Scotty is doing a excellant job. He is that person that we all live to see each day and I think his show was Amazing, so layed back and I loved the way they showed him with the kids, very special, and he is so humble and caring and I did like all were asking people to take a name for these kids that doesn't get anything they were all so taken in to helping these kids. Loved that because that's what christmas is kids, family and friends enjoying time together and this special that's what it was and Scotty sang so Good and was so humble as the person we know and love. I think his First Special was warm and inspiring, and he should be so Proud of it. Proud for you Scotty. Amazing show. ILYTB

  44. Scotty is very, very shy! Also, he must still be overwhelmed with his awesome success...Thankfully, he has his faith and family to keep him grounded. Loved the Christmas with Scotty and Friends. In my heart, I wish it was 2-hr show. But, so far, he is giving us his best Christmas ever...like many of you, I am thankful! Merry Christmas all...

  45. Like or Appreciate...nitpicking over words.!! I agree that so many people miss true meaning behind his actions. Many were only looking at the performance. People say it's about family, friends and giving at THIS time of year. Most people fail to speak of what this celebration claims to be about, to be...remembering Jesus Christ. Gift giving and kindnesses shouldn't be limited just to this holiday or getting along just for the sake of a special day. I know Scotty embraces all these wonderful qualities all year. The world in general has made it all commercial, making money and promoting greed. Scotty is the best example among young people...all of us can learn from him.But at the same time why do people have to get upset over comments people make about their preferences??
