For his first holiday special, Scotty McCreery invited friends Gloriana, Jana Kramer and Brett Eldredge to join in on the fun. Christmas with Scotty McCreery & Friends premieres on GAC Saturday, December 1 at 11p|10c. In addition to featuring traditional Christmas music and holiday memories, Scotty and friends give back through two nonprofits close to Scotty’s heart.

“Growing up, Christmas was a special time of year for my family, probably our favorite time,” Scotty said. “It’s nice that we all get together as a family and spend time together.”

Scotty will perform “Christmas In Heaven,” an original song from his new holiday album, Christmas with Scotty McCreery, as well as “Let it Snow” and “Santa Claus Is Back In Town.”  Gloriana will perform “O Holy Night” and “Silent Night” while Jana performs “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland.” Brett will add his own renditions of “Mary Did You Know” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”
“For me personally, ‘Oh Holy Night’ is a song I used to sing in church when I was younger,” Gloriana’s Rachel Reinert said. “This song brings in the spirituality of Christmas and I think that’s why we all connect with it.”
Besides performing, the artists wrapped gifts for hand-selected angels from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program and encouraged audience members to pick an angel from the tree set up in the studio. “I have so many holiday memories that bring a smile to my face but for these kids they might not get the gifts I took for granted growing up,” Scotty said.
Jana struggled to narrow down her favorite holiday tunes for the special, but is thrilled with her picks. “I’m so happy to be singing ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.’” she said. “It’s so vulnerable and special.”
For Brett, it’s “Mary Did You Know” that means it’s Christmastime. “There’s no mistaking it when I hear the first few notes of the guitar in that song, it immediately puts me in the Christmas spirit!” he said.
Scotty also works closely with Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child. During the special, he’ll share footage from a recent trip to the Dominican Republic, where he saw the organization’s work firsthand as he handed out specially-packed Christmas boxes saying “I’m just glad that I can be on the other end of it now.”

  1. For those of you who haven't seen all the new posts below, you are going to be pleasantly surprised. Todd Cassetty is just what Scotty needed. I love listening to that smooth rich voice here in the dark.People say that these stars don't usually put out a Christmas album so early in their career, but Scotty as we know is wise beyond years. He knew what he wanted and he came through with an incredible piece of work. Some hear a little Sinatra, Dean Martin,of course Elvis and on MJSBLOG someone mentioned Perry Como...that goes back! all that and a country boy at heart. Idol had no idea just how versatile he was. Jimmy Iovine nailed it when he said something to the effect that anything he has done then. it will only get better. I thought Scotty was mature on Idol and thorougly swept away by him. And in such short time, look how he has matured. I hope Scotty's band sees that they are in on something big here. They too have gotten so much better and they look like they are having fun.And I love that they all love Scotty and his family. And his family, my goodness I can't thank them enough for bringing up a good young man, good values, love for his family and friends. Because of them he is able to do all he is doing.I love that it's a family then. How many young guys would include them on the making of his album, running songs by them. Or wanting one of them on the road with him? I love it!!! The McCreery's are such good examples for all of us. Love them all.

    1. I totally agree and I think that is the reason he has captured our hearts the way he has. I am convinced that God has Scotty's path set and as long as he listens to God's voice he will have great success, not only personal and commercial success, but the kind of success that transcends what most people deem as success, like fame and wealth; he will have positive influence in this world somehow which is why God is raising him up like this and has given Scotty this amazing gift of a beautiful captivating voice that we all love so much. What else is so amazing to me about Scotty is how he takes everything stride and handles everything with such grace and humility. That is soooo endearing to me personally. I am so proud of Scotty!!

    2. I totally agree with both of you and I know he is going to be up there with the ones that have gone BIG.. GOD GIVE HIM THAT VOICE AND HE IS GOING TO HAVE EXTRE GREAT SUCCESS. HE IS GOING TO BE SO BIG WE WONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH OURSELVES. WE WILL BE SO HAPPY. WE WILL BE JUMPING UP AND DOWN. GOD HAS A PATH SET JUST WAITING FOR HIM. but he is still our Scotty whom we all have loved ever since Idol days. I am so proud of you Scotty!! LOVE YOU THIS BIG FOREVER.

  2. Just thought I'd let y'all know at my twitter account @Beckers1982 I posted all the videos of Scotty on the GAC special from tonight for those who don't get that channel!
