Scotty McCreery will be on hand during the ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ television special to help ring in the Christmas season. The ‘American Idol’ champion will appear as part of a star-studded lineup, which includes fellow crooner Trace Adkins, as well as Mariah Carey, Cee Lo Green and others.

McCreery was just added to the list of celebs who will appear on the special holiday program, which will air on NBC on Wednesday Nov. 28 at 8PM ET.
Of course, McCreery’s signature baritone voice will be one highlight of the special, but the main show will be the lighting of the nearly 80-foot Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. A tree has been placed at the same spot in New York City since 1933, the year the tradition began when it was lit up with 700 lights. In 1951, NBC began televising the lighting of the tree. Today, it takes more than 30,000 lights to decorate the tree each year, according to CBS News.
Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Rascal Flatts have all performed during previous ‘Christmas in Rockefeller’ specials. This year, McCreery and Adkins will represent country music during the annual television airing.
The gig is a perfect fit for the ‘Water Tower Town’ crooner, who is currently promoting his holiday record, ‘Christmas with Scotty McCreery.’ Plus, the Rockefeller Center special can help prepare the young country star for his own Christmas special on GAC. The television program ‘Christmas with Scotty McCreery and Friends’ will air on Saturday, Dec. 1.

  1. This young man deserves to be in any all Christmas Specials this season! He ha worked hard all year and is the best young Country singer of all time. His fans would be broken-hearted if they did not see him several times during the holiday season using that bass=baritone beautiful voice of his. Thank you NY, Todd and most of all our Scotty for making our Christmas a lot brighter.

  2. Scotty we are so proud of you. Absolutely LOVE your Christmas album...it is perfect. Scotty has the best voice and personality I have ever seen in an artist. Anyone who has not heard his Christmas album, you need to have it. It is beautiful - best ever! I am addicted to Scotty. He makes my day. My life changed when season 10 of AI began because with his audition, all the way through up until now, I am just loving every minute of Scotty's successful career. He will always be #1 in my opinion.

  3. Well all I can say is Thank You for adding him he is so talented and he has worked so hard this year not only with Brad but his own solo concerts, you know does that not count for anything. I just want someone to give him a chance just play his songs on the radio. He is one of the Best artist out there right now and how is he suppose to get anywhere if noone is going to give him a chance. His concert looked like one of the best the other night in New York if I could have I would of been there front roll seat. He has given his time and has been working for charity all summer and giving back to those who need it, Relay for Life cancer reasearch , the shoeboxes he even went there last year himself and delivered them and Sandy the other night he is one in a million and I LOVE HIM THIS BIG and I am just so proud of him. He is just such a humble and caring young man. His Christmas Album is so amazing his songs, his voice and he has touched so many lifes with this album and people need to hear it . They want to hear it. Scotty we are so PROUD of you This Big. :):):) WAY TO GO SCOTTY can't wait to see you, already have it taping. YAY!!!!

  4. I agree with everyone above. I would really like it if Todd Cassetty could tell us why he isn't played on the radio. He does need a single off the album so that they would have a Christmas song to play. Anyway, why is this happenning with Scotty. He deserves better than that.

  5. I have to agree with everyone also,he has worked so hard for the past two years doing all he can to please all those radio guys, and everyone else. They were so jealous he had a big fan base, and winning the awards, and selling so many albums and they couldn't stand it,so they used there power to block him from radio. It's not right how they treated him,and they should be ashamed of themselves.

  6. Can you imagine how Scotty must feel ,all his hard work, and they still ignore him.I bet sometimes it's hard to keep on going, and to keep on smiling .Whst I would like to know more than the radio play, where are all those loyal fans who helped him to get a platitum album for clear as day.I thought for sure they would be out there boasting the sale of his album,They go crazy over one song, but yet a great album they don't seem to care about.aI think I'm more disapointed in his fans.

  7. His fans need to call the radio stations or e-mail them to get our Scotty played on the radio. Write them too..as his fans, we have to prove to them that we want his songs including Christmas ones to be on the radio. You are right though that his manager needs to promote him as well. I prefer to just listen to his CDs anyway cause he's just THE best!! Scotty will be fine though..cause he's God's.

  9. I would agree that all his fans should have at least one CWSM cd of their own. He has around 653k twitter followers. Have they all bought his Christmas CD? I think not. Why follow him and not support his efforts?

    3. Neither 12:40 am nor 12:14 pm said he doesn´t as far as I can see. 12:14 PM was only answering the "suggestion" made by 12:40 AM

  13. I have no idea why up to now Scotty's music is not being given radio airplay - It is very difficult to get airplay on commercial radio stations unless you have some inside connection - Radio is controlled by commercial interests - And then there are stations who may "think" his music does not fit in with their playlists ??? - Which would explain why a lot of music being played on radio these days is just awful - I guess this is where his label/management come in - unless they have some other strategy in connection with promoting his next country album (which to me will be his first real country album) - Sometimes it is good for new artists to get airplay via smaller community stations or independent college stations who are more receptive to new artists/music -

Having said all that, I still don't see why he is not on radio more - especially with all the successful free concerts he has done for radio stations - Radio cannot say that it's because he doesn't have the fans, because even when people call in requests they are told that the songs are not available - Which leaves me to believe that the "powers that would be" are just giving him a hard time - However, let's see what happens with this new management of his & with his next country album -
