Scotty McCreery, Lady Antebellum join Jennifer Nettles for 'Country Christmas'

CMA Country Christmas” is always a highly anticipated Christmas TV special and it’s bigger and better than ever in 2012. On Nov. 29, network officials revealed that Scotty McCreery, Lady Antebellum and a host of other country superstars are set to join Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland to celebrate the holiday season.

Some of the most powerful and emotionally moving voices in music come together to celebrate the holidays on "CMA Country Christmas” on ABC. The two-hour special will include powerful performances and fireside chats with “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery, the members from Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Colbie Caillat, Katherine Jenkins, John Legend, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, The Band Perry and Keith Urban.

For the third year in a row, Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland will serve as host. The strong cast, including Scotty McCreery and Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood from Lady Antebellum will perform Christmas classics and share their personal and family holiday traditions.
In 2011, "CMA Country Christmas" drew more than nine million viewers, which represented an increase of nearly 23% over the inaugural broadcast in 2010. "The popularity of 'CMA Country Christmas' grows each year," said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. "The special is reaching across format lines and bringing in new viewers who appreciate great performances. It is especially rewarding that ABC has made the decision to air the program three times during the holiday season."

"CMA Country Christmas" is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the executive producer, Paul Miller is the director and David Wild is the writer. The special was taped on Nov. 3 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and was shot in high definition with 5.1 channel surround sound.

The holiday special is set to air from 9-11 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 20, with a repeats airing on Saturday, Dec. 22 (9-11 p.m. EST) and Sunday, Dec. 23 (4-6 p.m. EST) on ABC.
