What's Your Favorite Song on Christmas With Scotty McCreery?

So now that we've all had the CD for a few days and have been able to listen to it, some of us several times, why don't you take a few minutes and share with us what is your favorite song and why you like it so much.   (thank you for suggesting this in the comments)

Well, I guess I'll start this off. I like every song on the CD but will try to narrow it down to just a couple that I really LOVE (this is gonna be hard).  Christmas in Heaven hits very close to home for me.  I lost my mother 15 years ago and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She had actually purchased all her Christmas gifts for her children, grandchildren and my father before she passed away in July. So, needless to say when we were sitting around the Christmas Tree at my dad's house that Christmas morning, it was very hard but also comforting to see her handwriting on our gift tags and open the presents that she had picked out for us.  She not only shopped for all our gifts, but made sure she wrote our names on every gift she purchased, one last thing she could do for the ones she loved dearly. I also was very fortunate to be at the NC State Fair when Scotty performed it live for the first time.  Words cannot express the feeling and emotions that Scotty put into singing that song! AMAZING - doesn't even come close to describing it.  OK my next favorite is: Santa Claus Is Back In Town - I have already played the video out in my mind for this song.  We all know Scotty loves Elvis, but his rendition of this song shows another side of Scotty that we didn't get to see on Clear As Day.  I would've loved to been a fly on the wall in the studio the day they were recording this one!  On the way home from the fair Monday night we were playing the CD & I have to say when this song came on there were 4 ladies dancing away in the car - that little gas station we stopped at for gas, as we were dancing away, will never forget us, that's for sure!!  Jingle Bells This is definitely not your Mother's or your Father's Jingle Bells - this is Scotty McCreery's all the way!  I loved the musical arrangements and his rendition of it was just perfect!  One of the ladies I was with summed it up like this, it was a very masculine rendition of Jingle Bells and that it was! I am going to stop at these 3 only because I could write a whole post on what I love about this CD - which I can sum up in a few short words I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS CD!!  Scotty McCreery wrote his name all over this CD - he took each song and made it his own! Donna :)

  2. Thanks for posting Donna - I will go second, I guess by saying that Oh Holy Night has to be my favorite. Scotty got me at "Oh night devine" with this one. Like you, I love the entire CD. The musician out-did themselves to help Scotty make this one CD of perfection from Let It Snow right through CC Rider.lol I just get chills on the traditional songs, Winter Wonderland, Noel, Oh Holy Night and Christmas Song. Then my feet start tapping and jumping around on SCIBIT, JB and HJC and I am not by any stretch of the imagination a dancer!!! Mary Did You Know is also a favorite. I never heard it before Scotty sang it. Christmas In Heaven is right up there. I saw the video of the NC concert (lucky you, you were there Donna) and I keep replaying both nights just to watch Scotty sing CIH. I love this Classy Album!! Kait

  3. O Holy Night is my favorite ( right now ), followed by SCIBIT, followed by all the rest. I listened to the album twice this morning and O Holy Night probably 5 times today and will listen to it some more later...his voice is captivating...I can't get enough of it and the whole album. Scotty brings joy to my heart. Love every song but I'm sure my favs will change depending on my mood, just like listening to CAD.

  4. It is absolutely impossible for me to pick a favorite song on this album. It changes all the time. It might be "Santa Claus Is Back In Town" because I kind of lose it during that one, dancing in the living room and all (I also do that when I hear "Holly Jolly Christmas"), but "O Holy Night" has always been my favorite Christmas song, but then "Mary Did You Know" is my favorite more contemporary Christmas song, but then "Christmas In Heaven" is so beautiful!!, but then "Jingle Bells" is so jazzy and awesome, but then I hear "The Christmas Song" and Scotty's voice is so incredible on that one......!!! See? I can't pick one!!!

  5. I just played a few of the songs for my parents--who are in their 80's-- and they loved him. Played Christmas in Heaven, the Christmas song, and of course Santa Claus is Back in Town. I agree with the post that said wish they'd been a fly on the wall when he recorded the Elvis song. Also agree with someone last week that said basically, forget Elvis, this is now Scotty's song!

How can radio not play this kid? He's just SO good. So many different styles on the new CD, and I love them all. Can't wait for his sophomore album as well. Just love the young man he's becoming.

  6. I thought that it would be any of the other songs, but now I have to say, "Jingle Bells." I just love Scotty's jazzy version of this song, really put his stamp on this one. But all the songs are just great!

  7. I love the whole album! The new twist he puts on jingle bells is really great! Christmas in Heaven is sure to be a classic. Love his deep voice on Mary Did You Know. Plus that last note he hits on The Christmas Song gives me chills!! Every song is in Scotty's distinct style, and his voice is like velvet! His take on Santa Clause Is Back in Town was a sexy sounding surprise!! He did Elvis proud on that one!! Please everyone tell all your friends what a great album this is and encourage them to buy it!! Every song is so beautifully sung by our favorite country singer!! Scotty you are awesome!!

  8. So hard to choose.... I like several. It will probably be like CAD - my favorites change based on my mood. Today I am enjoying Holly Jolly Christmas - makes me smile and look forward to the holidays. As I listen what amazes me is the quality of all the songs and he is just 19 years old! Can anyone think of another of today's young male artists able to do this? I cannot. Scotty is something dagum special :)

  10. Sometimes I think listening to Scotty's album I must have a split-personality. Joyously dreaming to the classics Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, and the Christmas Song....rocking out on Jingle Bells, Holly Jolly Christmas and Santa Claus is back In Town... in awe of Mary Did You Know, Holy Night and Noel...then winding up bawling at Christmas in Heaven! Its overall a spirit lifting album and I love all of it!

  11. Love the album and find it hard to choose a favorite. They are all my favorite!
I don't think, after watching today's videos that we have to fret over radio ignoring Scotty. Mgmt has taken him right around radio to TELEVISION! They seem very happy to see him and talk with him AND play his music. I, for one, am loving it!! The reviews are coming in, people in Hollywood know who he is and now Television is aligned to see that this young southern gent gets his career going, despite radio.

  13. I too lost my husband to cancer and my favorite is CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN. This song makes me feel I have been to heaven and back it has touched me so much. I'm like 3:00 my husband loved Christmas and we were the ones that always had everyone on Christmas Eve and he passed away Jan. 15, 2009 right after Christmas and we had to have all of our families that week since he couldn't get out so yes needless to say this song has made me feel so close to him in heaven. I have watched the video where Scotty sung it for the first time at Raleigh NC and when he had those tears it just touched me even more that he was feeling close to his grandfather too. He is one in a million and his songs has meant the world to me, not just this one ILYTB was the other one because my husband said that to me all the time. I love the whole album but this song is just very special to me. ILYTB SCOTTY

  15. Love it all, just like everyone else, but I must say, "O Holy Night' when I just sit back and let it roll over me sends me to a place of peacefulness that is hard to describe. I am going to put that song on it's own CD so it can play over and over. 'Mary Did you Know' pretty much does the same thing. Then when I am in the mood, 'Let it Snow' and 'Holly Jolly' is so much fun. His voice in 'The Christmas Song' is so super..........after going up and down, in and out, to Heaven and back, to finish up with 'Santas back in Town'.......wow.
