Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban
and a handful of other country music superstars are set to perform
during the third annual ‘CMA Country Christmas’ prime time special,
scheduled to air on ABC this upcoming holiday season.
Sugarland‘s
Jennifer Nettles will return to host the yuletide extravaganza for the
third consecutive year, a gig the singer has held down since the event’s
inception in 2010.
“I am so excited to be hosting this year, and I love inviting the
audience to get into the spirit of the season by bringing a toy for
donation!” an enthusiastic Nettles shares. “It is such a joy to watch
this holiday special grow — in not only its talent roster, but moreover
in its charitable celebration of the season.”
Martina McBride, Little Big Town, the Band Perry, Dierks Bentley and Scotty McCreery
round out the group of confirmed country performers, with mainstream
superstars John Legend, Colbie Caillat and opera star Katherine Jenkins
added to the bill to give some pop flavor to the mostly country music
event.
McCreery and Lady A will no doubt debut holiday-themed music from
their respective Christmas releases during the annual event, which will
also host a charitable toy donation drive. The former ‘American Idol’
winner’s ‘Christmas With Scotty McCreery‘
album was released today (Oct. 16), while Lady Antebellum’s ‘On This
Winter’s Night’ will hit store shelves and digital retailers next week
(Oct. 22).
‘CMA Country Christmas’ will be taped in front of a live audience at
Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 3, just two days after the
upcoming CMA Awards ceremony wraps in the same venue. The event will air
later in the holiday season on the ABC network.

ReplyDeleteOh darn, and I thought we could watch on TV on Nov 3rd !
ReplyDeleteOh I was so glad to hear Scotty will be singing because he should be there, I have watched last years over and over again he sang THE FIRST NOEL so different, I love the version of it. He just puts so much emotion into his songs.Love you Scotty and again congrats on your new album. ILYTB
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Scotty will be part of the CMA Country Christmas program. I will be watching
ReplyDeleteDonna. have you heard if Scotty will be performing at the CMA Awards? I know he did last year and then the CMA Country Christmas Show. I SURE HOPE SO.
DeleteI noticed on the right side of Scotty's appearance/solo concerts it shows CMA Awards, Nov. 1st
DeleteHowever, I have noticed from previous comment on this site stating that so far he has not been sheduled.
Please if any of you have heard plese leave a comment
thank you
Scotty's got the CMA Awards on his Nov 1st schedule so I'm just assuming he'll be performing...cause why else would he be attending??
DeleteI know Scotty fans are happy he'll be on the Christmas show. A little off topic, but I, like many of you were not into country music until Scotty. I knew big names but didn't listen to them or know the names of any of their songs. I knew GS was the King. I watched the awards shows and seems he was up always up for awards, When Scotty did ICMH on Idol, which was in my top three favorites on the show,I looked him up and really loved his music and him as a person. When Scotty did CYON on tour I could see the more he did it, the more fun he was having fun. And now it's a hit on tour. Earleir tonight I listened to a lot GS songa and can see why he is the King. He has some beautiful songs that I could just here Scotty sing, when he is older. I don't mean any disrepect to him, so please don't hate me,he has a great, easy voice to listen to, but I have to say, it's not the 'reach out and grab you'kind of voice like Scotty did the first time I heard him on Idol. doing Josh's LBT. GS is a class act and undisputable king of country for sure. I so hoped he would take Scotty on tour. I'd like to hear him acknowledged Scotty's success and keeping CYON alive. Even JT said his fan base grew last year and I hoped he would say because of Scotty introducing his music to new fans. Anyway, I think all three are tops in my book. Maybe sometime GS will invite Scotty to sing with him. I can hope, right?
ReplyDeleteNot the reach out and grab you Voice? Are you a fan ? These are the comments that get under my skin . What artist are you listening to because Scotty is better then GS . You do realize this is a fansofScotty site are you lost or something? Unbelievable .
Delete12:47 advocates for GS and prefers his voice to Scotty. I don ´t really get the point of making that post on a Scotty fansite, but well, she has the right to do so and the right to prefer GS´s voice and music.
DeleteWhether a voice is considered a "reach and grab voice" would always depend on the listener. It´s totally subjective. Just think of artists like Philip Philips. He makes me crinch while his fans consider his voice "reach and grab".
To me Scotty has exactly this "reach and grab voice" and none other has grabbed me and conquered my heart the way he has and I know in my heart nobody else will ever succeed in taking his place. chrissie
I agree but to post such a comment on an artist fan site is rude who does that?
DeleteCan someone with a twitter account contact Judy McCreery and ask if Scotty will be performing on Nov 1st for the CMA awards show? Just a thought. Then we would all know.
ReplyDelete11:15 , You need to go back read my comment at 12:47. I said GS didn't have that 'reach out and grab you kind of voice' like Scotty has. I am sure you misread it.If you read the whole thing you'd see I am and have been since day one and will always be a fan of Scotty. G-ma Dodie
ReplyDeleteHey G-ma Dodie. I´m not 11:15 but chrissie who also replied on your post. Now reading your 12:37 comment I see your post was misunderstood. It´s because I thought you referred to "Scotty" when saying "him".
DeleteOUOTE: "GS ... can see why he is the King...I could here "SCOTTY" sing, when he is older. I don't mean any disrepect to "HIM" ...but I have to say, it's not the 'reach out and grab you'kind of voice.."
All in all it was a misunderstanding and I´m glad we agree on Scotty having a "reach and grab voice" which btw is a wonderful way to express the quality of Scotty´s voice. ly
It was worded wrong I'm glad you clarified for me . thanks.
Deletedon't be so quick to attack.
ReplyDeleteoff topic, but can someone email Reba that Scotty would probably want to appear on her new show. Just read where she wants country stars to come on. She has Blake and Keyy Clarkson already, of course. You could tell her how Scotty said he'd love to sing with her.
ReplyDeleteWhat an super idea!!! I think they would sound awesome together, they are both so lusciously country sounding!!
