SING ALONG: The festivities for the Triple-A National
Championship game Tuesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park will
include an appearance from American Idol winner Scotty McCreery of
Garner.
McCreery, a North Carolina State student who was in high school when
he won the 2011 American Idol competition, will throw out the ceremonial
first pitch and he will perform “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during
the seventh-inning stretch.
The game pits the International League champion (Pawtucket Red Sox)
against the Pacific Coast League champion (Omaha or Reno Aces). Durham
is the first International League city to play host to the national
title game, which ends the minor league season.
