Scotty McCreery Gets in ‘T-R-O-U-B-L-E’ With Travis Tritt Cover on ‘CMA Music Festival’ Special

By Cory Stromblad

Scotty McCreery broke the mold with his performance slot on tonight’s ABC special, ‘CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,’ opting to perform Travis Tritt‘s 1993 country classic ‘T.R.O.U.B.L.E’ instead of a tune from his own country music debut record, ‘Clear as Day.’ Before the former ‘American Idol’ winner took the big stage, McCreery graciously sat down to answer a few pressing questions from his army of loyal fans. “I’m not a spender,” answered the ‘Water Tower Town’ singer when asked what he splurged on after his first big paycheck. “Probably went and got some chicken,” he added, referring to his favorite North Carolina chicken joint, Bojangles. As far as his dream duet partner, the young singer confessed he would love to share the stage with a legend like Dolly Parton or Loretta Lynn, but also has his eye on one of his contemporary counterparts. “I think Carrie Underwood would be pretty sweet,” the 19-year-old singer shared. Building on the success of his platinum-selling debut album, McCreery is gearing up for his first holiday-themed record, ‘Christmas With Scotty McCreery.’ The project is expected to be released on Oct. 16. http://tasteofcountry.com/scotty-mccreery-trouble-cma-music-festival/

  4. Great performance . . . Scotty ROCKS this song, and I love that Scotty articulates the lyrics so fans can hear the words of the song (unlike many other singers), plus I LUUUV how Scotty pronounces words (totally Scotty) . . . Good article (though we fanatical Scotty fans know that Scotty is 18, not 19)

  5. I've said this elsewhere, but now that we have the actual video, gotta say it again, I thought Scotty's stage presence and delivery of this rockin song was awesome! His band too, knows how to rock out with him! They've got a good thing going, can hardly wait till his next album is released! Yay! Scotty!

  6. As always, whatever Scotty sings, he does an awesome job!! Watched the whole show just to hear Scotty sing. Made my night!!!

  7. Yes Scotty is the BEST. I also watched the whole show just to hear him. They know to save the best for last and keep the viewers hanging on. I was only disappointed because I couldn't hear the crowd screaming at the end. I really enjoy seeing the crowd's reaction to him. I love everything about him. What a guy!!

  8. Loved it! I recorded it last night and have probably watched it 20 times already. I loved the little Q&A they had with him before the song...he is so adorable.

  9. Scotty was AMAZING!!!! I sat through the whole show just to see his performance. They sure saved the best for last. I can't wait for his next album. He is going to be a HUGE star!! It is going to so much fun watching his rise up to the top!

  12. Way to go, Scotty! Scotty is No.4 in the Under 21 group. YAY ! Listened to all of them and he and Miley Cyrus sound the best to me.

  14. Absolutely save the best for last. I loved Scotty last nite, well worth staying up later for. Special thanks for the Happy Birthday from Scotty, totally did not expect that but it was so sweet. Looking forward to seeing Scotty's show in Nashville, Dec 8th. From a super Grandmother fan.

  15. He is B E A U T I F U L (to the trouble song). Oh my goodness Scotty really rocked it!! Love him!! My mom who lives in SC today was at her salon today and all the ladies love Scotty and they all had to wait up to see him. They said that they had to save the best for last so all of his fans would keep watching. He was amazing and I'm sure he will get a lot of requests. My country radio station owned by the horrible and dreaded Cumulus Radio, had a lot of requests for Hunter Hayes so they played Wanted several times today. I didn't have time to request Scotty today, but I will tomorrow even thought it will be on deaf ears because they don't have Scotty in the rotation, but they have every single artist that played last night on their station and they play Janna Kramer all the time. It is just ridiculous at this point. I will point it out to the DJ tomorrow. Maybe this will help get Scotty played by Cumulus Radio.

  16. I taped it and fast forwarded it to watch Scotty twice. He is the best. I love his voice and am hard of hearing so I love being able to understand his words. I just do not listen to artists whose words I cannot hear. I can't wait to hear my Christmas album that I preordered. I will probably have it worn out by Christmas. I am only going to watch American Idol when he is performing. They will never have anyone as good of voice and audience appeal as Scotty. How many artists have the wide range of fans that Scotty has?
    Nana in Texas

  17. Cumulus here in N. Louisiana too. SMH as to why they refuse to play his songs. Got to sing about drinking, getting drunk, or something along those lines to get radio play.

    2. I agree with big fat zero to CMA but I just noticed something as I watched this video for multiple times. It's very hard to see, but around the .98 mark to 1:10...somewhere in there camera swings to girls and I thought I might have seen Gabi in front. Wouldn't that be cool for her? Maybe somebody with better eyesight than mine can be more definitive on this.

  23. Ditto to all above. Just got back from the National AAA baseball game in Durham, NC where Scotty threw out the first ball and sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" at the 7th inning stretch. What a powerful voice our young man has. I was sitting right in front of the booth that he was in during the game. Soooooooooooooo close, yet so far........................

  24. It was fantastic performance; Scotty was perfect in delivery; band was outstanding...But until Scotty gets a signature song of his own on #1 country; Hunter has taken the lead and he's gonna be one hard dude to catch...he's moved up to #1 on country now and I bet he's gonna take the NA award, which I think he deserves...but would have so liked to have seen Scotty come out with something new before the award nominations. If he had just been nominated, it would have kept him in same position with Hunter even if HH had won. With Scotty not planned for sophomore album till almost two yrs from first he hasn't had much to work with. I don't understand why Hunter gets more songs out faster...as do some other artists. Is it mgt.? and if so why wouldn't they want him putting more out.

    1. Its these opinions like yours that bothers me I'm not going to be mean but it is hard . Scotty had a great performance and everyone is celebrating the here comes Debbie downer its so hard not to respond when ate people going to get it its not Scotty its not any of his songs or his music it they think he hasn't done his dues it going to take time and much of perseverance and Patience geez .frankly I think Brantley is going to win. That's ok Carrie wasn't even nominated I don't think . its all politics Scotty has only been out a year and a half he's doing great and I'm happy and satisfied with his progress what's the rush so what Hunter is ahead who cares they have two different singing styles . I don't think Hunters Voice is even in the same league as Scotty . Hunter is talented but its an acquired taste . I like Rascal Flatt a better . Hunter sings a but juvenile for me but I wish him well. I will not compare Scotty to anyone else he is timeless and only 19 and will make his way up the ladder and his fans need to sit back and wait and enjoy ths ride he knows what he is doing.its hard for country radio and critics to except artist coming from a singing reality shows and throwing out songs just to release them is not the right way they won't play him anyway and if they don't play him he gets no number one hit so what's the point? He is getting recognized by them he was on the Cmas . Was Justin Moore or Thomson Square and many more no but Scotty was many awesome artist got snubbed not just Scotty. He is doing great and I'm not letting pessimistic people ruin it for me I'm only thinking positive and I suggest his true fans do the same.

    3. I agree with 1:24 am 100%. Scotty is the best country singer today, which is clearly seen/heard by viewing this CMA Music Festival show. No one comes close to Scotty. It does not matter what anyone else in the music industry says or does. We know what we see, and we know what we hear. And every singer in country music can likewise see and hear Scotty's phenominal talent. SCOTTY ROCKS LIKE NO OTHER.

    4. Finally positive people thank you so much 8:44 sometimes when I read some of these comments that are so critical it brings tears to my eyes because for me he is always awesome and well received I love him unconditionally . I'm not a teen but I think like one people say his older fans are the best but I disagree the little kids and teenagers just love him and never complain and defend their favorite maybe they do it in nasty way sometimes but they have his back they get their parents to buy everything take them to his concerts . I've seen this with Justin Beiber and Taylor swift don't mess with their artist and that's how I am I absolutely adore Scotty and will support him no matter what I never ever criticize him.

  30. Scotty always gives a good & impressive performance - but I do prefer him singing ballads because it showcases his deep, full, rich voice - the cma has become all about ratings, politics, money - I think this is because the country music industry has been taken over by people who are not country & who are merely in it as a business - I think the reason Scotty is not on radio is because of industry politics & maneuvering - when he came on to the scene he practically outshines all those other singers who were around before him - it doesn't matter that the fans always vote the most for Scotty - the cma is an industry voted award & this is how the industry puts their struggling artists up there - but that does not mean their albums will sell -

  31. Its never good enough for some of his fans . He should sing this or that he's looks tired his Christmas cd isn't selling as well as we thought . I happen to agree with 90% of what she said so I appreciated her comment and even if u don't u don't have to put Scotty fans down. Some think differently than you and that is just life. And when u say it's never good enough for fans, many of us are not saying that at all, we're saying what Scotty is receiving isn't good enough. He deserved nomination for CMA's and he deserves radio play.

  35. To me it seems that people on this site share the love for Scotty and the wish for him to have long time success and come here to catch up on Scotty news. The problem seems to be that some solely want to read the news and compliment his performance and express their love for Scotty while others also enjoy discussing his career, songs, choice of music, choice of single, country music today, music business and what it takes to make it and so on. The first group interprets those discussions as interference, negativity and critic while the second group gets frustrated by the recycling of praise without an educated debate. What do you think and how can we solve the problem?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree with your assessment of problem. I have repeatedly asked that we all identify selves with username to promote accountability; but Donna is looking into it and it may be bigger task than we might think to get system set up that way...That will not solve all problems, but I think it would get us half way there; maybe further...or then again it might cause more. I don't have the answers....except segregation which I suggest only partially in jest.

    2. I´m with you on identification and furthermore we ought to have a set of guidelines about commenting. Constantly we see comment sections get polluted by commenters who jump on others which gets the kettle boiling and the negative circle continue. Banning that kind of bahaviour would force people to respect others´ opinions and force them to express THEIR point of view instead of attacking, lecturing and name calling

  36. I f you are a fan of Scotty's why would you come on his site, and sing the praises of another artist, that is so uncalled for ,you should go to the site of the artist and put your comment there. The video above is Scotty's performance for every one to enjoy, and he was amazing period,Yes and.far better than Hunter Hayes.Do you not think he might read these comments.,and that it don't hurt to see some of these comments that are by people to be his fans.I hate to have some of you for a friend.Since Scotty isn't up for the awards my vote will go foe Lee Brice he a heck of a lot better Hayes, and Gilbert, combined.Scotty Also Scotty is N0.4 on this years billboard list of top artist under 21,He's right up there with Bieber,Lavato and all the rest of the top artist.I don't see Hayes on that top 20 list.Scotty is No1 in my book, and he is the best new artist out there, with or without the awards

  37. Leave the decisions of what Scotty does in music career ,and his personal life up to him.He has a manger,he smart ,and educated he doesn't need anyone telling him if he's not on top ,or what's wrong with his music,Some o f the comments so, so dumb, folks the choice is his to make, and to make the necessary changes if need be,as a fan all you can do is support him,and encourage him, especially when things are rough. You can discuss or bicker all you want .but that doesn't change the plain, and simple fact the decisions are his to make and no one else's.

    1. Well said 11:31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also think that his management has had far more experience at dealing with the entertainment industry than any of us, so leave it up to them. There are so many things that we as fans do not know about artists, management and what goes on behind the scenes. We need to remember that Scotty has only been in this business for a short time and look at what has been accomplished. Some of these entertainers have been doing this for years before they receive the kind of recognition that Scotty has. We all love him and want him to be nominated and receive awards but we need to realized that some never have the opportunity to receive this kind of recognition. Lets be thankful for what he has accomplished, continue to support him and be careful not to make assumptions. Just because he makes the statment that something will be different in his concert on September 21,2012 doesn't mean that it is something drastic. Maybe he is going to sing one of his songs off the Christmas album, could be Christmas in September, lol!!! We all need to lighten up. Scotty is in the hands of one who will take care of him far better than anyone as long as he puts him first in his life. So go Scotty!!!!!!!!!!

    4. 11:31: Of course it's left up to him, but if it were not, why have u established ur self as one to tell fans what to do. All some of us want to do is discuss the issues intellectually based on facts we know and learn without the attacks from lollipop land. For crying out loud don't u think we realize that decisions are out of our control; what idiot wouldn't get that? You speak as if u have come to enlighten the world to universal principals of truth. You address those who don't participate in fan site as you think we should and attempt to make decisions for us as u explain why we shouldn't be attempting to make decisions for Scotty (when we aren't trying to) It's insulting. It is possible that discussions like we seek could benefit Scotty, family etc. in decision making. If I were in his position I would want to know everything my fans were thinking and "trying" to talk about. Would I take it all and make decisions based solely on fan perspectives? Of course not and no one with any sense expects him to. He couldn't if he wanted to as there r too many diverse perspectives. But if the truth of all fans are available to him, he can take what he can use and leave the rest. No one has ever implied that he should make decisions based on what we think but it doesn't stop us from thinking. I'm glad everything is totally his call and I wouldn't want it any other way as he has to live with the consequences of his choices (not us). But I don't think he shd be limited to receiving only a one-sided perspective. Because that is no more positive than what u construe as negative. Do you want a friend to be honest with you or just tell u only the good stuff even if it might mislead you? I ask that question with some reservation, as those that only want to say the good stuff, are often the ones who have difficult time hearing anything or facing anything but the good stuff. But that is not healthy and keeps one stuck without opportunity for growth. I think Scotty is emotionally healthy enough to cope with those that see him as imperfect from time to time, especially when we recognize all the good as well.

    5. Spoken like a true fan 1:52pm! Giving Scotty a feel of what his fans are thinking can't help but be beneficial! I love youre line "if the truth of all fans are available to him, he can take what he can use and leave the rest".

    6. Thank you 5:33 and 6:11, I appreciate a positive comment ever now and then myself. I made earlier comment related to Scotty and HH and it was badly misunderstood or taken entirely out of context...Suddenly I was accused of promoting Hunter & being Debbie Downer. I do happen to love HH and am pleased for his success as he has worked hard. My intent of earlier comment was to say I hated seeing Scotty loose ground to HH when he previously held the momentum...but now he and Scotty will be competing for same awards (if we're lucky) and vying for same sales $ as HH has diverse fanbase as well..now with #1 hit, CMA nomination and touring with Carrie, he will be a force with which we and Scotty have to contend to see Scotty to TOP where we all aspire. While I have supported Hunter in past when Scotty wasn't in competition. I have never once supported him instead of Scotty. Honestly, I love them both, but I fell for Scotty first and I am 100% loyal. Scotty is and always has been my #1....I just want to see him recognized as such and it is hard to regain momentum once lost. I hate that he was not nominated for CMA and that WTT didn't do for him what he is capable of. I hate it for Scotty and I hate it for McCreerians and I want to fight for Scotty, not lay back and wait; not because I'm inpatient, but because we are learning it's a brutal industry and I don't want to see Scotty have to scrape and claw his way back to top (if he loses momentum) as Hunter has had to do....Scotty's performance of TROUBLE was fantastic, but HH got better press and Scotty is at pivotal point now. He needs a HUGE HIT, not for us his die hard fans but for the bigger picture and Industry (radio) etc. I get tired and frustrated having to explain myself and being called negative when in fact, I just want to face the facts, so we don't see Scotty fall back. I know these recognitions he is receiving are great; but the Industry isn't gonna pay atten. to this. Nor are they gonna be impressed by 100 or so fans coming here talking about how great his CMAS album is. Unless the sales blow Santa up the chimmey and off the roof and even then they are gonna want to see more from him. He is somewhat vulnerable in a way as some in Industry won't validate him till he proves himself big w/singles hit and because of AI factor he may have to hit the top higher and harder than others and Hunter is gonna be hard to knock off the top soon, just like Carrie always is. The Industry and public have seen too many AI winners fall short after initial momentum...I totally believe in Scotty and that he can overcome adversities, but I get frustrated with those that just want to make seemingly positive comments, esp. when he's suffered a loss and when the less popular topics may represent issues Scotty is going to have to face and handle. Comments like those below disturb me as I don't think now is time to lay back and enjoy the ride as Scotty is receiving major slight from where it counts the most within the Industry. Scotty still has hard work ahead and as long as he does, we do, or at least those of us who care enough to say what needs saying even if it's not sugar coated, do. Anyway, thanks for some support and when enough of the worker bee types get ready, I would like to get to work on some ideas for how we (as fans) can help boost sales....Let me know who's with me and let's see if we can't get admns. to put up a tab, strickly for fan based sales promo ideas for CMAS CD.

    7. Really you can't even compare Scotty to Hunter . Hunters Voice sounds like a teenager when he sings .storm warning is a terrible song. Wanted is better but he is not my cup of tea Scotty sings like a man . I do like Rascal Flatts but not Hunter so much. I think Hunters songs will all sound the same and I might like one or two .but I love every song Scotty does . I like men that sing like men . sorry my opinion.by the way we his fans need to buy his music and attend his concerts that will help. I think Scotty is doing great Hunter got a break and radio thinks he's done his dues that it in a nut shell its not Scotty songs they are awesome they think he needs to put the time in .

    8. I agree stylin! This is 1:55am! I wish I'd put my comment here but I'm just now reading yours. Scotty's voice is so good, he can do covers of all the greats and leave us in awe..Kenny Rogers, Elvis Presley, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Garth Brooks and the list goes on! Scotty is an amazing talent in my books. In listening to Hunter sing, I don't think he could do covers of many singers his singing is limited but I agree with 12:48am, in that his songs are getting promoted and though I don't think his voice is special or very country, his songs are doing well, and his stage presence is really good! WTT after all this time, on, and now off the charts, I think has had its day, its a T40 song but I'll keep voting for radio play until Scotty gives us a new song, hopefully from his next album!

    9. Even Scotty himself has given kudos to HH for his writing abilities. That is our Scotty he loves all and appreciates all people. Not necessary to knife others on this site to please him. His natural abilities will flower and I do believe he will write some important pieces soon that will astound the music world. Stop putting others down here in Scotty's behalf.that is not Scotty. Donot bring darkness toward his light. Love you man you were so great on CMA!!!

    11. I agree 6:13 there's no reason to put HH down. Some like his style and some don't which is much the same with any artist. Scotty and HH are absolute opposites in style. I expect that Scotty respects HH. I don't see any reason to compare the two artistically. Anyway, the only valid comparison is related to fact that HH is getting good radio play and Industry recognition and Scotty isn't. It's not Hunter's fault, nor any of the other artists that were nominated. My issue is with Industry and Interscope, not other artists. I just don't understand how CMA can justify not nominating Scotty for NA. I would really like to hear their rationale on this. I would also like to hear a comment from Interscope as to why they can't get Scotty radio play or industry nomination. The only possible thing CMA could find to fault Scotty is that he has yet to have hit in top 10, but plat. album and two gold singles would offset that one would think.

    12. Never could understand what the big deal is that artists write their own songs (There's writers to do that!) I could care less if Scotty writes his own songs and from what he's said he's dabbling in writing songs but if someone writes a better one he'll sing that one. Good for him!

O well, seeing the defensive and almost hostile reaction to a friendly and neutral comment we might conclude we will never agree and get along

    2. 1:25pm a discussion IS different viewpoints and as long as its tactful and follows with...a disagree or agree and a reason....that's good interaction! Several are upset with CMA not nominating Scotty this year, better to express it than not!

1:59pm yours is the most depressing unfan-like comment I've read in a long while on this site. I disagree that the comments here are a mess, they are fans of Scotty expressing a whole lot of love for him as a singer and a person! I love this site and the fans that are on it but I don't appreciate comments from someone that comes here and says "I wouldn't be upset if they close the comment section". A whole lot of us disagree. I've got a suggestion, why don't you leave! Problem solved!!!!

    3. 5:59, well that was "tactful" and your comment is exactly what I refer to when I say this is a mess. You attempt to explain a discussion and speak of being tactful and then conclude with hateful comment. This is reason I don't care to see comments closed...and I said "IF this is all we have to look forward to". Your comment is exactly what I wouldn't miss, so I have a suggestion for you as well. Practice what u preach. Change your own behavior if you need comments to stay open, as you have no power to change mine and certainly not with self-contradicting behavior and attitude. And my leaving wouldn't solve your problems regardless, because you have an attitude problem. I know who u are and you routinely declare war when u feel threatened and I don't think you even realize how you sound and represent yourself. I will say I can agree with u on at least one point and that is your extension of permitting others to voice upset about CMA nominations.

    4. 1:36 you are a mess . I agree with 5:59 .

    5. Well at least I don't have to validate my own comments. If you are going to be deceitful, you need to get much better at it.

    6. No I'm a different person. I do agree with 1:36

  43. So glad he did this song. He rocked the place and even if he was toward the end, he was on and I loved it.

  44. Like Jimmy Iovine said of Scotty he's a natural, and can sing anything! Loved Scotty's rockin performance of 'Trouble' I was at TOC, listening to Scotty sing 'The Dance' at the Opry, and there's 114 comments there, and except for the odd one who liked Garth's original version, every one of them raved and quite a few said they cried at Scotty's beautiful rendition of that song! The future looks bright indeed for Scotty!

  45. People here don't even want to mention Idol Altthough this is what brought Scotty to us all. The same people here chew up fellow Scotty fans if they donot fit the form of a demented 13 yr old with a pitbull attitude.Scotty never discredits ANYONE and shows nothing but kindness and appreciation. Those here do not get the meaning of fan nor Christian. They actually need Scotty's presence in their lives not the handsome physical appearance but his HEART of goodness. Please ladies see what you do and do otherwise for the Lord's sake and your own!

  46. Is it they know not what they DO???

  47. Agree!! My cousin's friend knows Paul McDonald and wife and heard tell they can hardly believe the angry outpouring of false info pushed here about Scotty's Country Colleagues! Scotty's Christmas Show with friends will straighten all this out in a short time.maybe if Scotty shows his ways of friendship on stage during the season of Christ they will GET it and support in a true caring way.

    1. What specific false info has been pushed here about Scotty's colleagues? I haven't seen any false info at all and very little is mentioned here about Scotty's colleagues with the exception of LA and surely your not bringing her up AGAIN. Besides I have never read one comment here about her that wasn't documented fact. What's up, are u speaking of someone else? Maybe I'm confused.

    2. Well, 6:45 we're waiting? What gives? I'm curious to hear this third hand scandalous info since McCreerians stand accused. Frankly, I'm a little surprised that Paul and/or wife have perused this site that meticulously. Don't they have better things to do?

  48. Love Scotty and all he does !! Hope I get to see the Christmas Show and relive the excitement of Idol. That will be so much fun during the holiest of seasons. You were so fine on CMA for us all!! Keep your fair honest caring pure fantastic ways. They are a model for everyone!! Love you always but not willing to discredit anyone.know you would want it that way sunshine!!!

  49. There are those that say Scotty needs a hit single to get recognition from the industry - But how does one get a hit single if the powers that would be block his songs from the playlists!? It has become all about power play in the industry - I do not agree with this "he has to pay his dues" - I am so disgusted with the country music industry and have been for some years - Scotty deserves at least a nomination for new artist - As far as I am concerned, his CAD album is a hit album & I believe Scotty is a class act through and through and a real country artist - He will be around for many years & will be up there with all the country greats - A lot goes on behind the scenes - so let's just sit back and enjoy the ride -

You are sooo right K.!!..I guess that's why we haven't heard ANYTHING from him personally for awhile!..Really loved his State Farm chat the other day!..But I'm having withdrawal pains from lack of info on how and what he's doing!..I know there will be GREAT news soon!..The #4 Hottie was great to see!!..Soon #1!!..BTW..He definitely "paid his dues" on Idol!--I'm sure you agree!..GS

    2. I agree that not getting CMA nomination for NA was not about paying his dues. I think much is political with radio play and record label. I agree he paid dues on AI. Does anybody know how it was for Carrie the first year or two years...did the Industry accept her right away? did she get radio play and major industry award nominations? I didn't even know who she was til Scotty as I never followed pop country or new country artists. Carrie only got nominated for one CMA and from what I read it was because Interscope wasn't able to get many of their artist in with CMA this year. It must change periodically as she sure had more than her share of awards for several yrs. I don't think Carrie necessarily deserved female vocalist of yr. nomination this yr but that's what she received. Not that she doesn't have phenomenal voice. I'm just disappointed in her new stuff. Wonder why she's changed style so much. I know it's kinda the trend in country music, but she was so good she could have stuck to something that resembled country without having to compete via style change. Wonder why Interscope is on the outs with CMA.

    3. Because it's a business & all about the money - the artists just want to write songs & sing/perform - a lot of the business side is politics, maneuvering & wheeling $ dealing among the labels, management teams, radio, etc. -

    1. WOW!!! Scotty did an awesome performance and his Band is also wonderful. What a great group of men. Love all of them.

  52. Awesome performance!!! They put him last for ratings - they knew fans would wait to watch his performance - what this says is that the industry knows how huge Scotty's fanbase is - remember, they never reveal the number of votes - and it's a loyal fanbase - impressive for a new artist -

  53. 10:30pm K, We've still never heard if Scotty changed management? I'm presuming Scotty is with the same Label and I presume that doesn't necessarily change if he changes management? Do you know? It really is disgusting that Scotty wasn't even nominated for a CMA award because of all the politics and proposals going on? Well I hope on November 05th, they know enough to congratulate Scotty for being in the "Guiness book of World Records" for his #1 platinum album in all genres, and now Billboard Magazine chose him #4 in the under 21s. All I can say is Tsk! Tsk! to the CMA!

  54. Label & management are different entities - I think his label is UMG Nashville / Interscope Mercury -- not sure about management or if either or both have changed - if there's no official statement about this, we will see it on the jacket of his next album --

That's right - I've been tsk tsking the cma for some years now :-)
