This will be his first time playing here? Right? I have wondered when he would get to play at the Ryman. Wish I could go.
ReplyDeleteTHIS WILL BE HIS FOURTH TIME ON THERE!!THE FIRST TIME THAT HE PLAYED AT THE RYMAN WAS LAST YEAR AFTER HE WON IDOL AND WENT TO NASHVILLE TO BE ON IT THEN.HE WAS AT THE RYMAN DOING THE COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL WEEK.AND HE DID HIS SONG ILYTB. I JUST LIVE 30 MILES OUTSIDE OF NASHVILLE AND I WISH I COULD GO TOO. BUT IT'S GOING TO BE A GREAT NIGHT I KNOW IT WILL,WITH SCOTTY THERE IT WILL BE.JUST HOPE HE WILL DO SOME CHRISTMAS SONGS OF HIS FROM THE ALBUM.
DeleteI have watched videos of him on the Grand Old Opry everytime. But this is The Ryman Auditorium. 2 different places.
DeleteI was so excited when I first saw this on idf, thought Scotty was having a Christmas concert. But on the Grand Ole Opry site it says: Scotty McCreery and more to be added. So I guess it is a Christmas Opry Show and Scotty will be one of the performers. I am not sure about this, but that is how it appears on that site???? Can anyone check this out for sure?
ReplyDeleteAnother prestigious stage. Scotty, you are amazing. So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThat is the way to go Scotty, you are truly a blessed young man. Keep us the good work. GRANDMA IN TX.
DeleteSomeone is finally recognizing this amazing young man's abilities! Yeah!!! About time ! Make us proud, Scotty.......I know you will. Kait,Or
ReplyDeleteJust watching GAC and the "Top Ten Hunks in Country Music". Scotty was number 9! So excited to see him included. WOW, Scotty. Josh Turner is singing now at no. 8. Definitely tow hunks!
ReplyDeleteNo. 10, ? No.9, Scotty, N0.8 Josh Turner, No.7 George Strait, No.6 Tim McGraw, N0.5 Keith Urban, No.4 Trace Adkins, No.3 Luke Bryan, No.2 Chris Young, No.1 Blake Shelton. Pretty good company I woild say. That's our boy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry No.10 Jason Aldean
ReplyDeleteIf Scotty couldn't be No.1, I think Josh Turner is No. 1 in my book.
ReplyDeleteI just went to a Josh Turner concert last night. Never knew who he was before Scotty started singing his songs. I agree - Scotty Will always be #1, but Josh is #2. He's a great family man of faith with an outstanding voice. HOWEVER, No one will ever take Scotty's place in my heart!!
DeleteDITTO!!!
DeleteAmidst the exchange of tweets between Scotty and Missy Franklin last Monday, Missy shares the 25 things people do not know about her with US Weekly online news magazine. She mentioned having crushes on Scotty and Beiber. Here is the link.....

A typical and normal 17 yr old kid. She could be an ideal girl for our boy.
How can I save this video of the Dance at the Opry on my computer so I can watch it any time I want? Please somebody tell me how to do that. It won't let me bookmark it and place it in favorites. Just love this!! Scotty's a blast!
ReplyDeleteOH SCOTTY WITH YOUR VOICE WOW I FEEL I'M IN HEAVEN, YOU SANG SO GREAT
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE SO MUCH BETTER THAN ORIGINAL
PHILIPPINES
I think the Grand Ole Opry sees Scotty the way we fans do, a superstar in the making and, more importantly, an artist that stands for everything the Opry stands for -- family values, faith, respect for others and for the country artists of old -- and they also love that he is preserving that traditional sound with his musical style. And they realize that legions of fans want to hear that one-of-a-kind, God-given voice. A few may disagree, but America got it right when Scotty won American Idol!! Yes, America, we got it right!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if these concerts are going to be just Scotty or if other artists will also be performing, but it will be a great honor for Scotty to perform at the Ryman Auditorium, I am sure. Wouldn't it be awesome if some of it was televised?
I have no doubt that, down the road, Scotty will be a member of The Opry....absolutely no doubt. Scotty would fit right in. Excited to see this when they broadcast it.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Hope I am watching when it happens!
DeleteI thought the Ryman Auditorium is the Grand Ole Opry is'nt it?
ReplyDeleteThink the Ryman Auditorium is the older building where the Grand Ole Opry was held for years, then moved to another building. The Ryman is the building with the really good acoustics so the sound is great.
ReplyDeleteI so agree about scotty becoming a member of opry and don't think it will be long, I don't remember how many times you have to perform before they will invite you, but he should be close, they love him there. MJ i TX
ReplyDeleteOK THANKS for telling me!

I sure hope this performance is alot of Scotty. The minute I saw he was performing there I bought my tickets, booked lodging, etc. I am coming from MPLS. Scotty in Nashville is why...
ReplyDeleteThe Ryman Auditorium dates back to the late 1800 anad was built as church for a preacher it later became the place for the Grand Old Opry Radio Show and that is where some of the famous Artist performed including Elvis, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and on and on. Then the Grand Old Opry moved to it now location around 1976 I believe. Also the Famous Wood Inlaid Circle where the performers stood was removed and moved to the now Grand Opry Building. IF YOU ALL REMMBER SCOTTY SPOKE ABOUT HIM STANDING ON THE SAME FAMOUS CIRCLE WITH THESE GRANTS. ANDYWAY GO ON THE INTERNET AND READ ABOUT THEY RYMAN. IT IS WONDERFUL HISTORY AND SOME OF THE BEST ACOUSTIC SOUND OF ANYPLACE.
DeleteI JUST THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE ALITTLE INFOR REGARGIND THIS.
THANKS YOU, BOB JOHNSON, PORTLAND,OREGON
Thanks for this background -
DeleteI love Scotty covering The Dance...Love the white shirt...Wish he would start doing the Travis Tritt # he did on AI....Can I Trust You With MY Heart...if I had any doubts about SM going into AI, which I really didn't since he had me from Your Man at the audition....when he sang The River it was thrilling, but when he did CITYWMH, I so wished I had a younger heart to offer him. I don't know how u teens cope with following him all the time....I would be transferring myself to NC state in a heartbeat. (not suggesting it, I was somewhat of a magical thinker when I was that age) Seriously wonder if female enrollment will go up at NC?
ReplyDeleteStill can't figure out any way to save the Dance video at the Opry here on my pc some place so I can see it any time I want. Does anyone know???
ReplyDeleteIt's on youtube again.
DeleteI have to say so myself U are an increditable young man. Some people knows the best when they see or hear it, U are the best in country music. U are pure country. Stay as humble as U are Scotty. God bless U and your family. GRANDMA IN TX.
ReplyDeleteIn resonse to 9:40. I agree. I have posted several times I don't know how the young ladies contain themselves. This old heart of mine gets excited. I also wish he would cover T.Tritt's CITYWMH. That was my favorite song on AI. I think he blew everybody away with that, actually all his performances. The River, I loved him too, thought he looked so handsome. CITYWMH was my favorite song, but GONE was my favorite performance. The first time he sang that, jumping off the stage and that little foot action, I think, sealed the deal, if he hadn't already won. Someday I hope he does a song of covers. He did those songs better than the originals. AMAZED, incredible. Also I Cross My Heart was a favorite. But then again we know he can sing the phone book. I do wish there was a video of him singing with his classical chorus. That would be amazing. And his dad said in his first audition, he did Sinatra's, THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT. Can you just hear that. What a voice and what a gift to his fans. Thanks girls at this site and again to the McCreery family for encouraging him. We need Scotty's music.
ReplyDeleteFrom 9:40....We must think alike. I would put it the same way as CITYWMH being fav song and Gone being fav performance. And second fav was ICMH. When he made that jump in Gone, I think have of America jumped as well...I was off the sofa screaming YES! He needed that particular performance at that particular time in show. I've always heard that he sang The Way You Look Tonight for early auditions...I wish there were a video of that somewhere. One would think there would be, but I've looked and never found it.
DeleteI would love to hear and see video of him singing with the chorus.
DeleteJust going back thru some old stories and polls on TOC and I learned that George Strait has never been invited into the Grand Ole Opry. One reason was that he couldn't commit to them and be available all the time living where he does. So Scotty's chances will certainly be better if he is available when they want him. Good news. Also, in listing some of George's songs, it gave Band Perry and Taylor Swift credit for doing that song.. Obviously it was written before Scotty started doing it. GS was the one who picked that song for Scotty. I hope he has heard Scotty do it.
ReplyDeleteP.S. That explains why a lot of well known stars aren't a member of the GOO family. I guess they have to be willing to come back often.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon 9.58P - You should be able to right click on The Dance video and copy video url. That's what I did. I have it in my favorites but the url is FOS page. When this page is not the top page of Home, then you can go to favorites and click it there. Also, if you have RealPlayer you can download the video there and watch it. Hope this helps you. I know it can be frustrating when you cannot figure out how to do something. Kait, Or
ReplyDeleteI was able to bookmark it from YouTube. When I right clicked and copied video url, I couldn't find out how to paste it into my favorites. It's a good video but when I put it on full screen, the music was not with the lip sync. It's great though. Thanks for trying to help me. What do you do with it after you copy video url???
DeleteWell it won't take long to sell those tickets.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone interested, you can google earth and see the GOO and Ryman. I have never been to Nashville and found this fascinating. Maybe you will too. Kait,Or
ReplyDeleteI wish someone who can would ask Ms. Clayton if there are any videos of the Der Meisters. Would love to hear him and him in that tux...wow!
ReplyDeleteDo plays on ITUNES count or just sales??
