Brad Paisley & Scotty McCreery performing Celebrity at Darien Lake

Brad changed the words of the song to mention Scotty's fall!

  1. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT! What a great quality video. I love watching the comradeship between the two...Brad really seems to like our boy. There's Brad ruffling Scotty's hair at the end...Scotty joking with Brad...too cute. Love it.

Thanks for posting. Really put a smile on my face.

    2. ME TOO!!...The best one yet!!...I'm gonna really wear this one out!!.. What did Scotty say to Brad at the end?

    3. Scotty said, "You're a funny guy, Brad Paisley"

    4. What's also funny is that Brad's back-up singer/guitar player (behind Scotty) did not know that Brad was going to change up the lyrics at that part! - If you listen carefully he sings along with the original lyrics - hahaha :)

  2. Great video! Thanks so much to johndubbya69 for uploading the video. And thank you ladies for sharing it with us.

"I can fall riiiight off the stage and almost break my legs." LOL!!! That was an awesome line change, Brad! I laughed SO hard! Poor Scotty for falling though, but he handled it like a true professional! Made me love you more, Scotty Cooke! ♥

    1. I love the way that Scotty can laugh at himself. Read where someone posted on MJsblog that the clip of him falling has been posted on several of the radio stations across the country and that most of the DJs were impressed that it didn't phase him and he climb back up on the stage and kept singing. WOW!!! As you said Jen a true professional. By the way read somewhere that Dierks Bentley has fallen from the stage before too, so apparentley this has happened to other performers. Love the video of Scotty and Brad they seemed to have a good time performing together.

  3. That ramp was really pretty narrow compared to the ones in the bigger arenas - Scotty really handled it like a pro, caught himself soon enough to land himself safely and roll back up on to the stage continuing with the song like nothing even happened! Pretty impressive!

  4. That was awesome, Brad. You got Scotty giggling. All in fun. As Scotty would say, It's Good. If you can't laugh at yourself then it'll be hard to get through this life. The whole thing is cute, since no one got hurt. Thanx for the video.

  5. Yes the interaction between these two is really great! I'm so glad Scotty is touring with Brad...what a great example on all levels. <3
Maybe this mishap will bring a few more radio folks around if so then good has come out of it.
Yes.... very glad no one was hurt! Scotty would feel awful if a fan had been injured.

    1. Apparently, after the concert Scotty talked to the ones he fell on to make sure they were OK!..What a great guy!!..And this little mishap and the fantastic (though not surprising) way he handled it has given him some GREAT publicity!!..Way to go,Scotty!!..Love you TTMAB!!..Sure hope you're REALLY OK!..And hope your Mom is holding up OK with you moving out!

  6. They are so awesome together, they have such a good friendship like a father and son would have. Brad Paisley that was so funny and Scotty taking it all in stride. He wasn't hurt that's all that matters. His one stuff guy and you would have never knew he fell,he handled it so well he fell, rolled, and sang like a professional stunt guy, HA!I wish Brad would ask him to tour with him next year because I think them together on tour has been great. Well all I can say is you both have a great sense of humor. Hey Scotty, Good Luck at school and be careful. I've been there done that so tell your Mom and Dad to hang in there, may God bless you all on your next journey, college. ILYTB

  7. Someone on MJS blog said the big headline on AOL today was 'Scotty McCreery Falls Off Stage'! There's no sign of Scotty being rattled by his spill off the stage at all. He skips back down the stage, smiling away and its 'just like water off a duck's back' to Scotty! He handles mis-haps with calmness! A great way to be!!

Scotty also got significant increase as well over the afternoon, but something makes me think that one vote is carring more weight than one point for the one ahead of u...doesn't make sense....why isn't Scotty beating her when we are voting...we are voting aren't we?

  19. Looking at other videos from Darien Lake, can anyone tell us whether the crowd seemed kinda subdued compared to other nights. Even Scotty seemed a bit subdued. Lots of people coming in during his performances that I got the feeling they were there for Brad. Just didn't seem like other concerts. Or is it just me? I love hearing his voice but I also love hearing the crowd reacting to him and that seemed to be lacking. I actually thought the wasn't as much crowd noise during CELEBRITY, too. Maybe the conservative New Englanders! And that isn't a slam.

    1. Nope, I noticed it too....they just didn't seem as into Scotty there? I'm curious bout something...I know in past Brad has had two maybe even three stages going at different times for concert...I didn't really understand since I haven't been....this was typically when he was touring w/as many as four other grps/artists....I know he added the girls, (not sure who they are off top of head) but I was wondering if Scotty was possibly performing at sorta the lesser stage...not the right way to put that, but it did come to mind when I also noted difference in crowd. anyone know????

  21. Scotty performed on the main stage. The stages differ depending on the venue. The "tarps' you see in the videos are covering Brad's Band's instruments. The opry stage plays off the side in some places was my understanding. Sometimes the sound of the crowd is subbed so you can hear the artist singing on the video. I feel he was warmly welcomed at Darien Lake. Scotty, himself, did seem to be a little subdued however. Tired, no doubt.

  22. hmmmm 10:20 12:49 1:32. were you there at the concert or are you making an assumption watching a few videos. I'm always Amazed how people can critique something from a video . well I guess they were not into brad eather because several videos of him singing out there to and no one is screaming that loud . its an out door venue totally different sound . to the person who said well I guess they were not into Scotty who says that its comments like that that get under my skin and very hard to ignore . I thought Scotty was rocking out that's why he fell off the stage in the first place . what planet do you live on? I wish people would stop telling us about negative comments and go read them about Scotty how depressing .

  23. Chill out. Noone was critiquing him. Just an observation. He was not like he has been in recent concerts. Maybe he was tired. There wasn't negative comments. 2. Amen to chilling out....it was just concern and I had read a review that only gave Scotty a two line comment that wasn't impressive....which I put in my two cents on his behalf. I am delighted to hear it was otherwise and thanks to Tory SC who can respond to concern without an emotional go-to-pieces. I intend to read her comments in greater detail, but right now I'm busy voting at Cody's 5 (whatever) to keep Scotty on top!!!! So no one is critiquing we just made concerned observation...I personally can't get to his concerts for a number of reasons and I just wasn't able to see as much crowd enthusiasm as I sometimes do on videos....I understand videos are ltd, that's why I was inquiring and my comments had ? marks at end, not exclamation points. Thankfully TorySC was kind enough to share great reports and clarified my questions about staging and crowd response....Wonderful!! Delighted and Thrilled!!!! It's all good!!! You go go off high alert 10:20, 10:47, 5:58 etc..anyone else having melt-down thinking Scotty or crowd was judged or critiqued. It was apparently just a coincidence of video takes relative to others seen in past. And wouldn't those of you upset, rather ppl inquire for the truth rather than assume response was negative based on videos alone.

  24. Don't forget that Scotty is an opening act for Brad, and the folks always give him a great round of applause. His sings about 5 o 6 songs, and he is amazing live. Most of the videos are not the best, nothing like being there live,no comparison.Scotty always puts his all in to his performances, and he is never laid back.Of course Brad is the main attraction it's his show ,which is awesome, but he has the visual effects, lighting, and etc.to make it so spectacular. He s out there a long time ,and he can afford to put on this type of a show that people come to see.I have been at Scotty's solo concerts, and he is the star at that one and the crowd goes wild,he is fantastic for such a new young artist

There was also a tweet to the McCreery family about their loss. Maybe they had death among friends or family. He just seemed a little reserved. No need to get nasty. New Englanders, that was not a slam.

  29. At the Bethel Woods show the night before Lake Darien, Brad had 3 incredible artists Love and Theft, Janna Kramer, and Kristen Kelly starting at 5pm on the Virtual Opry Stage until 6 to 6:30 then Scotty came on the main stage at 7:30 pm. While the 5 pm shows are going on, most of the fans are still tailgating in the grassy parking lot complete with bques and music. It is very festive, fun, and relaxing. Bethel Woods opened the parking lot at 2pm and the gates to the concert area opened at 4:30 pm.

The Virtual Opry stage is only a stage so most who attend just stand and watch. It was in the grass which was very wet from all the rain so was sparsely attended, but you could hear and see it from the sidewalk and nearby vendors and hear it clearly from the parking lot area.

When Scotty started singing at Bethel Woods, many people in the audience were seated prior to his set and a lot of the grass area was filled, but as he continued with his set I noticed that most of the audience in the seated area was full and the lawn area behind us was full. It takes at least 20 minutes to walk from the large field parking lot to the main stage and most had to use the restroom before getting their seat. Unfortunately, Scotty wasn’t on for very long, but made the most of the time he had on stage.

The concert wasn't over at Bethel Woods until 12ish am and it took us about 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. They parked the cars so you were completely blocked in by other cars. We were in the middle of the lot so we had to wait until the very end and didn’t’ get home until 4 am. As we were waiting in our car to leave, I noticed that their tour buses were still there. It is about a 5 hour drive from Bethel Woods to Lake Darien. I know they sleep on the bus and have a driver, but it was definitely a difficult night to travel. We ran into a great deal of fog for half of our trip through NY into CT.

I and others posted very favorable reviews of the concert on Ticketmaster so Brad's tour was at 5 after my review was posted yesterday, but now stands at 4.8 stars(one of the reviewers unfortunately was disappointed). There are a lot of great reviews on there for the concert and for Scotty. Of course, I sang Scotty's praises and many fans that are Brad fans sang Scotty’s praises. He definitely makes an impression even though he only had a brief time on stage.

The entire concert was amazing. If it wasn’t for Scotty, I would not have gone so I am glad I went. I also noticed a lot of Scotty shirts from old to young. He clearly brings his own fans to Brad’s concert. It was a great night of music from all the performers and was about 7 hours of entertainment. Scotty is definitely learning the proper way to put on a concert.

If you want to see the reviews, here is the direct link and choose newest to oldest reviews. It takes about 2-3 days before reviews appear. My review is Under TorySC currently on p 5.

    1. I failed to add that Scotty was VERY, VERY well received by the fans At Bethel Woods, especially for the 1st opening act for BP. When he came out many in the audience stood, clapped, whistled, and yelled his name including myself. He was very well supported and I only noticed people wearing Scotty shirts at the concert. I know most were there to see BP and some for TBP, but Scotty had plenty of supporters. If you read the Ticketmaster comments, most mention Scotty very, very favorably at all the shows he has done with Brad. I think this is important because I would think that the management teams look at that for future shows to sign Scotty to continue to tour with them. I have to say Scotty’s sound was excellent and not too loud, but as the night went on TBP and BP got louder so some of the negatives were of it being too loud which I’ve read similar reviews at other concerts.

Also when Brad mentioned Scotty later in his set, the fans clapped and yelled. And when he came out later and sang Celebrity with Brad, he got many fans on their feet and I heard many people yelling and screaming his name from the seats and grassy area. I know Brad hears and sees this. He is very perceptive and fully aware of us yelling for Scotty.

Scotty is definitely known with the majority of the BP fans. BP fans left the festivities in the parking lot to hear him sing. (I spoke to several BP fans seated around me). Brad and TBP have great fans young to old and Scotty’s fans fit in very nicely with them. I didn’t see a lot of posters at this show, but the weather was questionable the entire night and had rained very heavily earlier in the afternoon prior to the concert. Fortunately for all, we lucked out and the weather bypassed us.

I hope this answers some more of your questions. Scotty was very kind, calm, and low key before the show when we met him at the Meet and Greet, but on stage he is full of energy and sounds wonderful. The videos are great, but they don’t really catch the entire vibe. The outdoor shows seem to be very supportive but a little more chilled out. I felt the fans were very attentive and were truly impressed with the entire show. Scotty, TBP and BP got your attention and you didn’t want to miss a thing. I did record some of Scotty’s set, but the sound is terrible. Fortunately, we did get some pretty good sounding videos from other attending the Bethel Woods show.

    4. Outdoor concerts are great, but also allow people to walk around or sit wherever before actually taking their actual seats (if they indeed have seats) - indoor concerts are always more compact and have better audio facilities/reception - Also, fans usually use their phone cameras and therefore sometimes the audio isn't all that good depending on the type of phone and distance from the stage. A lot of people who attend concerts are not necessarily die-hard fans of country music or of the performers, and sometimes it's just a nice, fun entertaining activity for family and friends. There are the "fanatical/passionate fans" and then there are the fans of music and entertainment in general. I think people in the audience give Scotty a good reception - the videos just do not show the audience and focus on Scotty performing on stage. It is very rare that someone actually pans the crowd while he is singing.

  30. TorySC: Finally got to read ur feedback word for word and it was big help in understanding the context of concert traffic, crowd etc. and filling in what the video's didn't catch. And it is great to hear that Scotty was well rec'd ! I think 10:20 and I knew we were ltd w/only videos and when they didn't show as expected, relative to prior videos, we were both just asking for more info and clarification, recognizing videos were possibly misleading. I also think Scotty's reception and popularity is noted by VIP's and it's very impt. that they note he is being well rec'd which I've always observed to be the case, prior to these videos. So my questions were just concern and I appreciate hearing from first hand observer what reception really said about his reception there. Thanks for addressing our questions (not criticisms) with genuine desire to further understanding. Good Reviews! All is well in the Northeast.

  31. So what if someone says he looks tired. No one said he wasn't receiveed, just that it wsn't as loud . No need to jump on everything that is said.

So why do you jump at 11:57 pm? She is just responding to your comment like you responded to somebody else´s comment.

      Delete
  32. Someone makes an observation, that there wasn't as much crowd reaction or he looked tired. Just their observation. So those coming back and jumping on them are going on their observation that things were good. That is that person's observation as well.So who is wrong. No one. No one said he didn't perform well or that he was liked. Just compared to other concert videos some noticed a difference. Out of concern that person was wanting to know if what they saw was right. No need to attack. If you weren't there just like the person giving their viewpoint wasn't there, should it come to so nasty comments. Evryone has Scotty's best interest at heart. We do see sometime that he is tired. We get our back's up when people don't like him and say mean things. But Scotty's fans should be able to express themselves w/o being attacked. For example, YMTLG, I think would have been a better third single, than WTT. Why do people have to accuse me of saying I don't think Scotty and management know what they are doing. It's just an opinion. That is just one example of how one gets attacked. Just because I say that doesn't mean I am right or wrong, just an opinion. Scotty looks tired, that doesn't call for someone to accuse you of thinking he's not giving his best. Someone should be able to say they liked this or that or didn't like this or that w,o being accused of not being a fan. All the bickering has got to stop. I think these comments will be removed soon, unfortunately.

    1. Also agree, good insight. I don't understand why some assume they have right to attack...they seem to be confused on difference between right to expressing a different opinion verses lashing out at the person they perceive to have expressed a differing opinion. I'm tired of trying to explain it. Glad to see somebody else give it a try.

  36. I think this discussion has reached its limit - its the same issue over and over - we have to understand that even the most die-hard fans have their own opinions and it does not mean that they do not support the artist. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes among his management team, label, and Scotty - It is pretty obvious that this past year was a balancing act for Scotty between fulfilling his contract obligations to AI, the start of his career in country music, and finishing high school, and now settling himself into college while continuing with the music. He won AI10 and had a really good start, and now he is basically starting his real career in country music, at the same time he is trying to "control" his own life too. I am sure the next few years will be interesting.

This is the 3rd time I've seen BradP in the past few years. He never ceases to amaze me. He walks thro the audience, sings to those in the "cheap seats", which I think is so nice. His concert is jam-packed full of hits! Scotty McCreery opened for Brad and he was AMAZING! I'd pay full price just to see HIM. [The Band Perry came on between Scotty and Brad+I'm glad Band Perry wasn't the only opening act cuz altho great voices+band, their songs are boring. They seem very nice, but I've been to tons of concerts and I guess I just can't see the draw to them. In the past, Brad had some great opening acts. Sorry, can't say the same for The Band Perry.] CAN'T WAIT FOR BRAD TO COME BACK TO DARIEN LAKES!
