Video of Scotty McCreery's solo concert in Morristown

Well, I've been offline today enjoying my Sunday and got back online to see some comments that did not make me very happy.  We have reminded and asked everyone several times to PLEASE keep the negativity off this site - as we will not tolerate it! There are plenty of other sites that will allow you to "fight" with each other or "bash" someone but this is not one of those sites - it never has been and it never will be.  I would hate to have to make a decision to not allow comments to be posted on anything on the site but if this continues we may just have to do that. Please realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion about things and we are not going to agree with everyone's opinion - but we should respect their opinions, none-the-less!  All of us here at Fansofscotty are very thankful for everyone that visits the site and we want people to continue visiting it - but again we cannot and will not allow fighting amongst the fans or posting of negative comments to be on here, for everyone to see!!  I hope I have not offended anyone, as that was not my intention, I just want this site to stay POSITIVE!!!   Haily, Tarah, Gloria and myself love ya all & enjoy doing the site for all of Scotty's fans to enjoy - so let's keep it a nice, positive place for everyone to enjoy! Thank you - Donna :)

Just want to remind everyone that if you copy any pictures or videos from this site to PLEASE, PLEASE be sure you are crediting the original owner of the pictures/videos. They are the ones who have taken the time to capture these for all of Scotty's fans to enjoy.

  1. Scotty is always so energized for his performances - I will make just one comment, though, and I've made this observation before - he needs to calm down a bit when he sings ILYTB, because it is a ballad - actually it is a powerful song and he does sing it beautifully - just seems like at times he struggles with the chorus/range and he is straining his voice - He needs to keep in the same zone like when he sings DD, OKJ, BOTG, CAD - otherwise I love listening to him sing this song -

    1. those songs are low key laid back ballets and trouble with girls also. I love you this big is a high key ballet like live like you were Dying by Tim McGraw . those songs were made to sing with high intensity and to show range to the artist voice . so know music before you feel the need to tell the artist how he should perform it . Scotty sings it the same way on his album .

    2. I do know music - I studied music for 12 years and was also in choir for 6 years! And I play classical piano and guitar!

    3. a question . have you ever been to any of Scottys concerts? i went to my third concert on Thursday in PA and going to my fourth on sept 3rd. he has always performed ILYTB with incredible enthusiasm and conviction along with his other songs so i think Scotty wouldnt do anything to hurt his voice. he gets pumped up but thats what makes him so great. he id doing an amazing job i have no preconceived ideas of how he should sing any of his songs love everything he does.

    1. It's not a negative observation. And I did say that he does sing it beautifully and that I love listening to him sing this one particular song. What I am referring to is called performance momentum or pacing, so that the performer does not get tired, especially when there is no break or intermission in the set. If you have ever performed on stage for days in row, you will understand this. What he is doing, these back-to-back performances, flying back and forth here, there and everywhere, the road tour....this is tiring, and hard work. And then there's still college. Again, not negative and I just want Scotty to get better and better but without him burning out.

    2. One has to consider, these are fan-made videos, with nowhere near the perfection in sound that a professional taping would have!! My opinion!!!

    3. Remember about ignoring the negative comments, and they will go away if you don't rise to to the bait?

  4. Scotty and his "people" know what they are doing. Why don't we just enjoy Scotty and what he does and leave the managing up to the professionals being paid by Scotty. I had noticed, or thought so anyway, that he had raised the tempo on LYTB. I love the way he sings it and love his increased energy on the stage. This guy cannot do anything wrong according to me. He does everything right!!! Love him. Oregon McCreerian

  5. I originally came on here to thank the ones responsible for the NJ video. I for one really appreciate it. It was a dry spell, with no new videos from this week. You made my Sunday with this video. It really gave us a feel for how it was if you were lucky enough to be in the audience at the MPAC. Thanks so much! Or McCreerian

  7. I love all things Scotty, but I think I enjoyed ILYTB more when he was on tour and some of his earlier performances. Those songs aren't 'ballets', as so many people think it is spelled like that.

    ReplyDelete
  8. In reply to Anonymous 11:27, you are the one who doesn't seem to know music. Who's ever heard of someone singing a ballet? It's a ballad!

    1. Haha. Since these comments are most likely to be removed, I was going to say that but you said it first. I was going to play vocabulary checker. Yeah, a ballet is a form of dance...a ballad is a form of song :)

  17. 4:08 Just agreeing with the first comment that he seems to be straining with ILYTB. He's still great. My comment was because if anyone says something about Scott they don't like, they say things like, "You can't be a Scotty fan". I am totally enamored by this kid. I like the mellow sound he used to sing ILYTB better, that's all.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe, you've given Scotty a pointer, when you say, you like the more mellow sound of ILYTB! He sings these songs so many times, he may not notice that he's changed the way he's singing it, or maybe its intentional! Either way its his song and he sings it beautifully! One thing for sure noone can sing it better!!

      Delete
    2. I like the softer, lower tone of Scotty's voice better too.. But many like the jazzier tone, like the teens. It's his life and career, to do as he wishes!..No harm in letting him know what we like, though, as long as it is respectfully expressed!..He is great however he sings!!!GS

      Delete
    3. I have to say he was just incredible live. It was great to be there in the audience. We all stood most of the show and some the entire show. If I wasn't standing, I was on the edge of my seat(not just me, but many were the same). Scotty was wonderful!! He has a tremendous connection to the audience. The videos do a very good job at capturing the feel in the audience, but can't capture the entire feel and connection of the whole show.

I always tell my son that I need 2-3 days for every 1 day to fully enjoy him because he changes so quickly and I say the same about Scotty. The concert was over too quickly for me because I need to hear and see him sing each song 2-3 times before I pick up on everything he does. I love how he says certain words and stands and his hand gestures. Just wonderful! I am so grateful for the ones who took the videos. He has so much heart and really tries so hard to sing well and give a good show.

  20. I haven't been to this site lately and I have to say was very surprised by the posts in this thread. I love Scotty and his voice. But I know he is not perfect and is still growing as a singer and a performer. I think it is wrong on a Scotty fan site to be so negative toward others posting comments.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree with you. The core of the negative vibe is not the fans who express their opinion or perception or make suggestions or express wishes but those agressive attacks on them from other posters.

      Delete
    2. depends on the comments . if they are negative opinions that the poster know will upset other fans why post it . I can only read a few of these then it gets annoying its the same people constantly posting their opinions on how he should dress perform his songs wear his hair his friends. it gets to be to much and people lash out . some fans love everything about him and the connection is more like a mom and grandma . they go to his concerts even have met him . that changes the dynamic of the kind of fan they are call it obsessive but I call it hope. I understand why these fans lash out I have done it myself .

I guess I worry about Scotty using his voice so much too. My grandaughter told me she hoped Scotty didn't miss concerts like another young singer recently did because of overusing his voice.

My daughter and grandaughters are taking me to Brad Paisley's concert in August as a birthday present. Never thought I would go to my first concert at 79 years old. Perhaps they can send a video in. I know I am ignorant of the process, but I'm sure they will be up to the task.

  29. Morristown Concert by Big Fan from CT
    Hi ya’ll,

I just got home from my trip to see Scotty last night at his Morristown, NJ concert. Wow!!! What can I say, he has so much energy!! Oh my goodness the pace was incredible. He kept the crowd so engaged you were afraid to take your eyes off of him. He put it all out there! You could feel the electricity and excitement when he came out onto the stage which continued throughout the entire concert! I don't know how long he played, but we were so mesmerized by him that it seemed like only minutes - the time flew by. I would need to hear him sing each song 2 to 3 times to take it all in. Scotty is definitely a great singer and performer. He makes a statement! The show suited his age, energy, and enthusiasm. I can’t wait to see him again at BP’s show on 8/10.

I can see why he is already selling out 5000 seat venues because he is putting so much effort into each performance like Brad, Tim, Kenny, and Luke Bryan. He was pumped the entire show and made the fast numbers even more electric, but he did slow it down to sing a heartfelt Dirty Dishes, Letters from Home and The Dance. The only song off his album he did not sing was Clear as Day. I love that song, but can understand why he wouldn’t play it at some of his shows. He does such a wonderful job especially for an 18 year old. I know that it was his 3rd show in 3 days in different towns, but you would never know it on stage. He seemed so happy and enthusiastic to be there. He did change some songs up just a little bit. As any performer, I think he has the songs down and then changes them slightly here or there as he’s out there like in Gone, TWG and ILYTB to keep it fresh and to go with how he is feeling, the stage, and crowd that night. He feels his music and communicates it to the audience very, very well. He definitely has “it”. Even if you weren’t an adoring fan (like me), you wouldn’t be able to deny the tremendous effort he puts in to his show!

He also spoke to the audience in different spots. He was very nice and sincere. I love his deep speaking voice. He said how much he appreciated his family and that his mom was there with him which everyone clapped and cheered for Judy (didn’t see her, but she was there). You could tell he really meant it. My husband thought it was wonderful for him to say it especially for the young ones in the audience to hear him say how much he loved and respected and appreciated his parents, family, friends, the USA, and the troops that defend our country. He also thanked us for coming and supporting him from idol to now and knowing that the economy has been tough that he appreciated us spending our hard earned money to see him. The crowd really lit up even more when he said these things. You could really hear the men cheering and clapping in support of the things he said just as loud as the women. We were all on our feet most of the night so it was a very enthusiastic audience. I didn’t ask any of the ushers (and should have), but I would venture to say it was one of the livelier and supporive audiences they have had there.

  30. part 2 Morristown Concert by Big Fan from CT

After the quieter acoustic performance by the opening act, Scotty’s band took the stage and immediately started playing Walk in the Country. When Scotty came out singing, the crowd went crazy!! We were all on our feet! I was sitting in the middle section of the theater a little more than 1/2 way back and you had to stand to see him on stage even though the theater rises as it goes back. After Walk in the Country, I think he did YMTLG and the crowd was still on their feet. He had many large groups of older high school girls in the audience scattered around who did not sit the entire show. They were enthralled with Scotty. As you can see by an earlier post, the venue is a more formal theater (not an outdoor show or coliseum type venue) where you would normally stand a few times maybe, but then sit, but they were up the entire show. They did not take their eyes off of him. I was fine with it because I have been to many concerts and normally you end up standing. I was very concerned with the older age group who can’t stand very easily or for very long who would think at this kind of venue and rightful so that it should be mainly sitting, but the ushers didn’t seem to mind and I didn’t see anyone complain about it as I very briefly looked around. I was also concerned about my 10 year old son, who is tall for his age, but couldn’t see Scotty in our original seats. We were sitting just behind and to the side of the sound mix area which was in the center of the theater with the open seats behind it (I guess they choose not to sell them) which was lucky for us because we moved over a few seats and was able to see most of the show seated and when we stood because the rest of the audience stood to clap and dance a little, my son could see Scotty. I saw many who did not have that option and just stood or were forced to sit in their seats and listen to him.
The high school girls were very excited and completely enthralled with him and definitely adore him. It was very cute!

My husband and 10 year old son enjoyed the show, too. My husband liked Scotty when he sang Letters from Home, TROUBLE, That's Alright Mama, Gone, YMTLG, and OKJ. He was very impressed with how well Scotty sang Elvis and Letters from Home. My son loves Elvis so he always likes when Scotty sings That's Alright Mama, TROUBLE, and Gone. He doesn’t like the gushy girl songs at his age, but loves the others on CAD and he reached over and held my hand when Scotty sang Dirty Dishes! Scotty truly has songs for everyone. He doesn’t miss anyone.

I will mention too that I forgot to inquire about Meet and Greets until Friday late afternoon. They got back to me on Sat and unfortunately didn’t have any additional Meet and Greets. She said that you need to request them several weeks in advance and then they are met on a lottery basis so we didn’t get to meet him, but I put a request in to meet him on 8/10. Hopefully, we will get to say hello to him and thank him. Unfortunately, Scotty can’t just go out into the lobby and see his fans like Canaan Smith. Canaan signed autographs and took pictures in the lobby after the show. He had a group around him, but nothing like Scotty would have if he tried to do it now. It was a small lobby and already difficult to get by with Canaan on one side and the souvenir vendor selling Scotty’s stuff on the other side. I wish Scotty could do Meet and Greet 1500+ seat venue, but I understand why it would be difficult for him and potentially unsafe for him and his fans.

  31. Part 3 Morristown Concert by Big Fan from CT

Also, I want to mention that Morristown is nice town. We had a wonderful time. The people were very friendly. We got there around 3:15, checked into our hotel and relaxed for a few minutes, then went to dinner and walked down the street to the concert. The street the theater is on is very lively and has a lot of shops and restaurants. Today, before leaving we took a tour of Morristown Historical National Park. It was the first Historical National Park in the US. It was acquired by the Federal Government from a private historical society in the 1930’s. The Ford Mansion (no relation to Ford Motor) is where General George Washington commanded and set up winter camp from Dec.1, 1779 through June 1, 1780. It turned out to be the coldest winter on record with 5 major snowfalls for the area prior to Dec 1st and about 23 large snowfalls for the winter with 5 blizzards. It was extremely difficult because the snow cut off supplies for about 10,000 troops stationed to thwart the British who were station in NYC. We took a tour through the house and saw some of the huts the soldiers built for the winter at Jockey Hollow. The soldiers wintered there for 3 winters. It was much bigger and better laid out than the winter camp at Valley Forge several years earlier where they lost a lot of men due to illnesses. It was very educational and definitely worth the trip if you are near Morristown and like history

  36. TO: 'Big Fan from CT' - that was such a wonderful read! I love Scotty's performances, ALL of them! and I just love his album, Clear As Day! New England is such a beautiful place with so much history. My mom is from there. I'm so glad Scotty has all these solo performances in New England. There are many theaters/venues like the MAPC around New England especially in the small towns, that hold concerts and plays throughout the summer each year. It was so sweet of your husband to take you and your son to the concert and again in August!

  37. Scotty has been wonderful all summer all over the place this summer. The quality of his efforts has been outstanding. Wish the Kiddie Experts out there giving musical advice could enjoy an ice-cream cone and then go home for an ice bath. Scotty and his family actually pay experts to give musical direction. These brats are unbelievable! Go look for a summer job- pronto.

  38. Are you kidding? Angry so - called fans like that have their faces stuck on a mobile device most of the day. That's all they do. A job? They were born musical experts!

  40. People need to enjoy the talent and artistry of Scotty Mccreery. I have never seen so much interference and inappropriate static about a new artists friends, family, clothing, musical collaboration, or future education. I see nowhere else on any sites where the public of various ages takes the liberty to push their personal agendas. What is going on?? This young man came to public attention because of his musical gifts and heartfelt goodness. SHOW HIM THAT SAME RESPECT.
