  1. I loved his review and this article, finding out he is a Christian and big supporter of Our Scotty!..Sent him a tweet to thank him! Don't know if he will get it, or answer.

  2. This article is great!! Scotty is doing what God has called him to do. He is blessed going in and going out -- North, South, East and West! He is lifting up the Lord Jesus, and He is drawing all men unto Him -- time is running out on planet earth and the Lord has chosen a few extraordinary men, one of them being Scotty, to reap the harvest in large numbers! God bless you and keep you, Scotty!! All of you who are so worried about Scotty, the Lord has him in the palm of His hand!! Don't worry, just watch the Lord use Him in marvelous ways to touch people's hearts.

    1. Yes!..It amazes me over and over how God is using Scotty to bless people, even though he sings few religious songs!..It's his beautiful, God honoring spirit and life that lifts people up!

    2. So agree !! The Lord has his back for sure and HE is and will use Scotty in His way and in His time. Scotty is doing what he is supposed to do - working hard and listening to the Lord's will for his life. We should all do that - young and old !!

  4. This is a great article. Nice when journalists recognize the talents of this young man as we McCreerians have since the day of his Idol audition. Beautiful voice, but also a beautiful soul. I do believe he was placed among us to do GOD'S will. I am happy that he plans on having a faith-based song on each album. I would like to suggest God Bless The Broken Road. I heard John Glosson sing it last night on Duets. I know Scotty could make an even more beautiful renditiion of it. If he doesn't add it to his album and hope and pray he will sing it someday soon. I just sit and marvel over this young man. So blessed and so humble and giving.

  5. It pays to check your typing before publishing. Duh ! I meant to say, "if he doesn't add it to his album "I" hope and pray...." Sorry about that.

  10. I spoke to the DJ at our local country station that is unfortunately owned by Cumulus Radio.(Cumulus radio is headquartered in Atlanta, GA and is the second largest owner and operator of AM and FM stations in the U.S.) He said he couldn't play Scotty, but would like to. He said that he has requests from listeners and has put many requests in to Cumulus out of Atlanta, GA and Austin, TX, but is frustrated by their lack of interest in playing not only Scotty, but several new country artists he likes. They play a little B. Gilbert and HH (same songs), but not many new artist he would like to play including Scotty. He knows a lot about Scotty and saw him on idol. He knows he is doing well and won awards and has huge fan support.
He said he didn't really know how to make the execs at Cumulus care. They are a BIG BOX parent company that has many genres of music. They also own another local pop station that I like to listen to a little. They have played the same songs for at least the past 15 years with a few newer songs and hits mixed in. It is a terrible company with regards to listening to the DJ's in their local markets. He said it is very frustrating and sad because more and more people are turning to other avenues and then they will all be out of jobs. He doesn't get it. I told him I like to hear the DJ's talk some and share their knowledge.
He said Cumulus controls everything he does, including spots and the content and how long he can talk. It is very scripted.

He said if Big Box radio execs continue like this then it will definitely be their demise. I said I really liked the other country station in another area of my state(can't tune in here) that is not owned by Big Box Parent Co. He said they are owned by a much smaller company and their DJ's have a lot of control on what is played and the content of their shows. He said, he has been a DJ for many years and a country radio DJ for 17 years and is very dicouraged about the future because of the Big Box Parent Companies like Cumulus. I wont say where I live because I wouldn't want any backlash against him, but Cumulus owns stations all over the country in all genres so if your local station isn't playing Scotty and plays the same songs over and over, they are probably owned by Cumulus. When they say their station name and number they usually say after it that it is a Cumulus Radio Station.

  11. 2nd part

I told him that I heard spots that Cumulus supports the Wounded Warrior Fund and Scotty did several shows in support; therefore, maybe Cumulus would play him. He was very happy to hear that, but said it unfortunately will not make a difference because Cumulus Execs do not care. Maybe if we all call Cumulus in Atlanta and NICELY request to speak to the Program Director (apparently they have 2) that maybe we can get Cumulus Radio to play Scotty because they will see the amount of fan support he has. If they agree to play him then he will be played ALL over the country!! He said that it isn't that Cumulus dislikes Scotty, they don't play a lot of artists. They just don't care about the programming or their employees, it is just about control and ad sales.

He did give a shout out to me and said that I was going to see Scotty McCreery in Morristown, NJ tomorrow night which I thought was very kind.

Here is Cumulus Radio email and phone number. I think we should all call and support Scotty and ask that he be played on their country stations across the country. If we call as enthusiastic fans in support of Scotty and their country stations then maybe they will play him. A lot of good hype can only help an artist. We need say we really like their stations but would love to hear Scotty!

  12. Does anybody know how Scotty did this week on CMT? Viacom and Direct TV have taken a bunch of stations away from Direct TV customers, and CMT is one of them. I couldn't play Top 20 this week - am hoping he made it - been voting all week. Anybody know?

  13. It's worth a try McCreerians! Let's just do it !!!

  14. Finding out about Cumulus Media answers a lot of questions. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex with two stations that will not play Scotty's songs. I just looked at their home pages and both are Cumulus stations. Because radio play is necessary for a song to be successful, these people are playing god with artist's careers. That's bull!

    1. Yes - They are the 2nd largest owner of radio stations - They own sooooo many stations!! We have to get our voice heard!!!

    2. Ditto here in Shreveport,La. Cumulus=no Scotty music on our country station either. This explains a lot. Only time his music is played is if he is in the top 30 on Great Am. Country Countdown w KIX Brooks (who by the way is from Shreveport)

  16. I sent a 'nice' e mail to Cumulus telling all about Scotty and the wonderful role modelhe is and appealed them as if they had children. If everyone does the same, maybe we can change things. Just be respectful and nice.

  20. Scotty is amazing and he has touched so many of our lives and doesn't even realize it. My husband passed away and he use to tell me I LOVE YOU THIS BIG , with his arms open wide and when he sang that song in the finale it has touched my heart every single day. He has blessed me so much and my family laughs at me because I call him my son, just from another mother. Ha!!!! I think "Old King James" would make a really good video also. God bless Scotty and his family everyday .He deserves the best and God will be the one to give it to him.He is one amazing young man and a gift from God.

    1. My heart feels for you!..Scotty has been such a blessing to me also, in grief and loneliness, etc. He definately HAS and IS a gift from God, and he seems so amazed when he hears of these things!..I pray every day for God to bless him, to keep him safe and keep him sweet. It can be such a temptation to get big-headed when one is adored as much as Scotty is!

    2. I agree and I pray "The Armor of God " over him every morning. This is so much temptation out there and such a "Pull" into worldly things.

  21. I loved this article! Scotty is definately something special and it is a great thing to see that others are just as impressed as all his fans are with this young man and how he conducts his life. I, also, pray for his safety every night that he stays true to his beliefs.

  23. Scotty will continue his special place as a musical missionary. We are all drawn to it because this is the Holy Spirit at work What a beautiful article proclaiming his spirit of goodness in a trying world. Praying for Scotty and Lauren to create a Christian album of light together soon. It will be a smash hit for the positive!

  24. THAT WILL NOT BE A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO MAKE A ALBUM AND ESPECIALLY A CHRISTIAN ALBUM, SHE IS NOT AS SPIRITUAL AS HE IS. HE SINGS WITH A LOT OF EMOTION AND FEELING WHEN HE SINGS AND SHE DOES NOT. PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO GO BACK TO AI DAYS, LET BY GONES BE BY GONES. LET SCOTTY DO HIS CAREER AND LA DO HER THING. SO PUT THIS DUET TO REST. GRANDMA IN TX.

    2. i agree...the spiritual side of scotty is very important in his life and if someday he wants to do a christian album and if he needs someone's colaboration it has to be a person who feels the same way about Christ like scotty does

  25. Why do people forget -- Judge not lest....etc. Scotty does not do this ever to people. Wondering why when these "fans" continue to put people down they seem to believe it is a way to honor Scotty? Try to be more like this young man and that kind of goodwill and kindness will truly honor his talent and character. So glad Scotty Mccreery has not judged others nor questioned anyone's beliefs. That is what will always set him apart from most and demonstrates his true love in God. Thank you Scotty for being this way.

  26. Why do some fans perpetuate their anger and think they have some type of say in whom Scotty will collaborate? Scotty will decide not a few angry young people who have their own self-.interest in mind. Proud of the way he makes his own decisions and went right up on stage with Lauren and sang so beautifully with her. That evening was absolutely magical and noone forced him to go to the Greek Theatre that particular evening. Their friendship and bond that was part of their experience and will not be devalued by this small segment of hostile people. Anyone who was lucky enough to be there saw something very unusual in the world today happening .. Christian kindness and respect. Bravo to both and God will recognize these ways and continue to bless them in the future with all things

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sorry, I don't think singing with Lauren, creates a beautiful song! Words like magical, a 'phenomena' or unusual in the world today, kindness, respect are all very flowery, if they were only true, but from what I've seen from your girl, they are not! So you don't get a wow from me!!!

  28. Those who judge lest they be..amazing how the negativity is inherent although Scott Mccreery has never been an advocate of these ways. Thanks Scotty for continuing to stand up for what is right. The good take notice And they will carry on. Love who you ARE Scotty!

  29. Scotty will always stand up for his friends. Trust that is in the Lord no matter what the hateful say. Glad your that way! What a great guy ..0 negativity here!
