  13. Well Scotty is always making money for every body else, I think that it is high time that he design some baseball cleats with his signature on them. Make them for high schools first then branch out to college, then minor baseball. The GT boot are very nice, what a way to go Scotty. GRANDMA IN TX.

  17. and amaze, you got a friend , she believe in me, always on my mind in this performance during AI he look at the camera that is money and his voice on this type of song is perfect too that is money too. i miss that.

  18. Just watching the special on Kenny Rogers. Tim McGraw just sang "She Believes in Me" and there is no question that Scotty sang that better on AI. I remember the comment was that that was a harder song because it was about a more mature relationship, but some also said they thought that was one of his best performances. Just shows how great Scotty is...he can 'cover' anyone and he does even better. 'Amazed" was better. "Can I Trust You With My Heart" also better. and others. He is a real talent and I think he will be around for a long time. I hope he will always have as much fun as he is now, because if he stops having fun, he may lose his desire and passion. Just an amazing talent.

    1. I had never heard of Thompson Square until Scotty sang AYGKMON on AI and I think they should thank him because their sales probably went up because Scotty sang it...and he sang way better.

    2. Agree with both comments. I haven't heard Tim McGraw sing SBIM but I do know Scotty nailed the song on AI. I think the panel were in awe.. still remember JLO singing along with him! It really was a great performance and so was Amazed!

  21. Dissappointed in that. Zach Brown lost my respect with his comment when introducing HH on Fremont St. in Las Vegas, referring to him as someone who actually writes his own songs, I'm sure was referring to Scotty. How many singers start out with their own songs? Not many. Most do cover songs to start with. Anyway, don't want to see him there in place of Scotty. Anyway, keep voting.

    1. Someone here said in a comment a while back, and I thought it made a lot of sense: Why is there so much hype about singers writing their own songs, when there are writers, to do that! I like Scotty's approach, he's writing but if someone gives him a song he likes better, he'll sing that one! And wasn't it George Strait who never wrote his own songs?

      Delete
    2. I agree with 8:50 PM - some of these singers want to write their on songs, but more often they are not that good - I remember Kelly Clarkson insisted that her 2nd album be all the songs she wrote, even when her label/producer did not think the songs were marketable, but she insisted and the album was a flop - she wanted to be a rock/pop singer and went down that road and she has struggled - now she's moved back to Nashville/country pop-rock -

I think that it isn't really about the songwriting and that's just a sorry way of saying that they just don't like Scotty's classic country singing - It doesn't matter what these people say, because obviously the fans love Scotty, and his talent is recognized not only by his fans but by many in the music industry!

      Delete
    3. I also want to say that I really admire Scotty for saying that he has never been big on writing and that he's only now learning the craft from all these songwriters he is working with - and that if someone gives him a song he likes then he will sing that one - This is such a great attitude!

      Delete
    4. Someone on youtube has been going on and on about HH and that Scotty should just bow out of the business for the next few yrs. in defference to HH. People have been all over it...if HH is so wonderful than he will have the fans to support him, he shouldn't need another artist to quit to help his career and like people have been saying, just because you write your own songs doesn't mean that people will like them or your voice or stage presence or personality. I have nothing against HH, I don't listen to him because I think his voice is too high, like Rascal Flats, and he's too POP for me but I don't attack him or his fans. I get really upset with the people who attack Scotty because of jealosy or they just don't like his non- pop style, who knows, but I try to ignore it and I never attack them back. There's no point in it.
Toby Keith said something interesting on the red carpet at the CMT awards. When asked why he liked the CMT awards best, he said that it was because it was totally fan voted. He said that any artist who didn't win shouldn't whine and to just work harder next year or get their fans to vote for them..period.

Oh, and alot of singers don't write their own songs...so I agree that this is a major cop-out, when people say that.

    5. This is just me -- I that Scotty really stirred up things in the country music industry when he entered the scene (on AI10 & afterwards) with this huge, huge fan base of all ages, country and non-country fans -- for a newcomer on the scene that is something -- I am not concerned about HH or LA or BG or any of these singers, because obviously they are not classic nor contemporary country -- As a matter of fact, I don't really find them unique -- Scotty, on the other hand, really knows exactly what kind of music he wants to sing and is going down the road of all those country greats (call it classic country or whatever) -- And he has the voice and country tone -- I have heard all these new generation country singers and they are not all that great really, including CU (no offense to her fans) -- I think Scotty has the potential to be a huge country artist following in the footsteps of the real country greats, and right now he is "stealing thunder" -- Consider that he has performed at the Opry 3 times already! -- His next album has to top CAD!

      I'm with Toby re fan-voted awards --

      Delete
    6. Also, just watch all his performances on this tour with Brad -- the arenas are packed by the time the show starts because everyone wants to see Scotty perform! -- He opens the show and he gets the main stage! He's a star! -- And nothing but great reviews! This concert tour and his solo concerts are always immediately sold out! So, like Toby said, stop whining already.

Sorry to say that jerks like that are part of the fame -game. It´s probably "TaylorBownist" a well known Scotty basher who has been following Scotty for ages, leaving all sorts of mean comments on Scotty´s and other´s sites. That individual is a troll or mentally unbalanced or both and not worth the mentions he / she is getting. He / she´ll stay or come back as long as people keep responding.

I totally agree about Scotty´s answer and attitude and I believe many people out there admire him for having the guts to stick to the truth and his values and beliefs. I do too

  26. SCOTTY TO PERFORM AT THE HAMPTON BEACH CASINO BALLROOM, NH, AUGUST 9, 2012.

    PRESS RELEASE - SEACOSTONLINE.COM

    http://www.seacoastonline.com/articles/20120709-NEWS-120709789

SLASH AND SCOTTY MCCREERY SHOWS COMING TO CASINO BALLROOM

    July 09, 2012 10:28 AM

    Press release

The Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach is proud to announce two of its most anticipated shows of the year. American Idol winner and Country Music sensation Scotty McCreery will appear Thursday August 9th. Hall of Fame, multi-platinum, former Guns N Roses axe master SLASH will make his Ballroom debut Sunday September 16th with his band featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

America fell in love with Scotty McCreery in 2011 when he appeared on American Idol and immediately made a name for himself with his deep and undeniably country voice, strong sense of self, small-town roots, and unwavering integrity and conviction. In May, he won Season Ten of American Idol when a record-breaking 122.4 million votes were cast for the finale and nearly 39 million people tuned in to see the winner’s name announced.

America fell in love with Slash 25 years ago this month when the release of the multi-platinum album Appetite for Destruction changed the path of rock music for the entire nation. For fans who’ve tracked the broken glass and ruby slipper journey of Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist since then, one can’t help but be radioactive with enthusiasm over his new project. The new album Apocalyptic Love is not just a new record by the storied musician with the black top hat and magical gift for riff, for Slash and his three co-conspirators; it is, indeed, destiny. And everyone involved is poised for the ride.

Although very different forms of “American Idols” both Scotty and Slash will most likely be two of the hottest tickets on the beach this year.

    1. Yes! No self respecting country or western person would tuck their pants into their boots.

  28. Fans might go wild if he tucked his pants in his boots, but not because they like it. How many country singers do you see doing that? I love Scotty as much as anyone else, so don't say I must not be a fan. I agree, that's about as redneck as can be and he is not a redneck. He is a charming southern gentleman! Take a poll and see how it turns out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually I have some relatives who are pretty rednecked and even they don't do that. That's something kids do. Scotty is too classy.Wearing a cowboy hat, too, isn't a good idea and so far he doesn't want that.

know it.His fan base consist of a lot of girls, and if doesn't hold there interest he's going to loose a lot of fans.I hope he puts some love ballets on his album.Look how H.Hayes picked up steam by one girly love song,he's first song storm warning didn't go anywhere. Also Scotty is going off to college now,and for me I like the plain boots better

    1. He has that one pair of boots that he likes to wear a lot. The ones that he is still wearing from the AI tour, the ones with the cut out design on the front foot part...they are a worn brown color. I love those boots! Scotty must love them too because he sure does wear them a lot.

  33. I really want to hear an original song from him, and I think it will happen at some point. HIs old guitar teacher said he wrote a song and played it for him years ago and it was sweet and moving. (it was a breakup song) I listen to his music because I love his voice, so original or not I will keep coming back. I like Hunters music, but it doesnt speak to me like Scottys does, even though someone else wrote Scottys songs, he still sings them with more conviction that Hunter sings his originals. I cant figure out why LA and HH fans are so mean either, hate doesnt help anybody. Scotty would never drop out of music because of Hunter, the thoughts obserd. I worry a bit about Scottys pace with music and college because even with two classes, college is way harder than HS. I know a lot of pple think college should have waited, but he is just sticking with his original plan. Heres my comment on the boots, dont tuck in your pants!

    1. A while back, someone posted on youtube a video of Scotty singing a part of an original song. This was filmed before he was on Idol. They took it off very soon after they uploaded it because alot of fans said that if they were a friend of his that maybe he would not want them posting the song if he might want to record it for his album, so they took it off. I listened to it before they took it off and it was really good. I liked it alot. I can't wait for his new album to come out.

ENVY,AND JEALOUSY GO HAND IN HAND.When a person is envious of another persons success they can become hateful ,because it's not them so down dip inside people can become hateful ,and mean The reason people write hateful comments is to try to turn people against that person they are envious of to try to destroy there success. That with them out of the way they could move up the ladder, what they fail to see about themselves is that they might not be as good as the other person, they think by getting them out of the way they would be on top. When I was a kid growing up as a catholic jealousy ,and envy are two of the seven deadly sins there purpose is to destroy other peoples lives,to cause another person misery or suffering. Some people on those sites need to examine there conscience

  35. 7:14, Scotty will always be "Garner'. That identfies him. Hope he never loses that. I do agree he needs some love songs...that's real life...and that is what he wants to sing about. Yes, his fan base are girls and Moms, and Grandmoms, so he needs to remember that. He could lose some of his fans if he doesn't sing some love songs. And he does them so well. Just something to consider.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why exactly does he not want to do love songs? I guess I am a bit confused, I know he said he didnt want the next album mushy/gushy or something like that, but they dont have to be!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Agree totally with comment above. I have to share this. My husband thinks I'm overboard where Scotty is concerned, as many others say the same thing about their families. He isn't into country, likes light jazz, easy listening, music like that, which I also like. However, when Scotty's WTT video came on GAC TV at No.1, he actually stayed in the room and watched. Baby steps! He has said that it's nice to know there is such a clean cut kid doing good clean music. Now if I can get him to a concert in the future!!! Before I leave this earth. please.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Do not tuck in pants. please.

    ReplyDelete
  39. HH will have his own career because he is a talented kid. He is a lot like scotty in that he is so passionate about his music, seems to be his focus right now, too. He seems to be humble and very nice as well. There is room enough for them both. Scotty will always be no. one in my book, but I do not wish HH any ill will. They are both a couple of kids achieving their dream. But Scotty does have something extra special.

  42. I'm not crazy about them, but he seemed pretty excited so that's okay with me. I like it when he wears his plain black boots. Don't tuck your pants in, please.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tucked in pants are fine if you are 2 or 3 years old.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Everyone has their opinion, but I think we see what the popular opinion is. NO!

    ReplyDelete
  45. You can wear boots with jeans tucked in or over the boots - that is a personal choice. In general, men wear their jeans/pants over their boots, especially if worn daily. BUT, if one wants to SHOW OFF A REALLY NICE PAIR OF BOOTS, then obviously you have to tuck in the jeans. I wear boots a lot, all kinds of boots, and I wear them the way I want.

My saying that Scotty tuck his jeans in these NEW BOOTS is ONLY IF HE WANTS TO SHOW THEM OFF. It's not like these boots are tacky - these boots are really cool! And he's a teenager, he's young! I think he can carry the look well.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Everyone has an opinion. But I think most people realize how lame that would look. As always, you're the authority, this time on how men wear their boots.

    ReplyDelete
  47. He is a teenager but he is classy, too. I bet not of his friends wear pants tucked in. It just isn't cool.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I said ONLY TO SHOW THEM OFF! Not as a rule! I suppose you consider wearing flip flops at meet & greets or scheduled visits to hospitals or radio stations to be classy?

    ReplyDelete
  49. No they are not appropriate. Are you saying Scotty's not classy? At least they don't make him look dorky as pants in boots could.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Rather than perseverate about the boots-flip flops let us be concerned about his success, happiness, good health and musicAl impact. What are these dingbats thinking? Wow....

    ReplyDelete
  51. Probably not much.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The boots are nice it's the emblem that take away from the boots.I do't know who picked them but he should never were them tucked in they would look awful he's not a kid anymore. They would make fun of him, don't do it scotty

    ReplyDelete
  53. Somestimes he doesnt dress right for the occasion, but his heart is in the right place (flip-flip, t-shirt) The boots were kinda ruined with the emblem, however, he designed them and loves them, so whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love the boots! He loves his hometown and will have it close no matter where he travels. What is the big deal about his boots? He likes them. What else matters? Wow... with fans like this who needs enemies?

Scotty has his own style and he dresses much like, if not better, than the teens in my town. T-shirts, jeans or shorts, flip flops seems to be the norm - relaxed(chill as they say)and comfortable :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE FLIP FLOPS,AND THE BOOTS ARE FINE AS LONG AS HE S HE HIDES the emblem . the tee shirts are fine at the right place or time.On stage I think t's a no ,no.He's a celebrity now .I know he wants to be casual but if he even thinks he could be called on stage as a surprise guest then he has to look the part of and where a nice pull over.Don't get mad at the comment, and I 'am one of the biggest fans of Scotty. When he's in the public eye get rid of the everyday t- shirts. He's a star now it's a plus to always be ready for an unexpected appearance.

    1. I am afraid to comment because I dont want people to think this is me being negative, I think its okay to have an opinion, and I have never heard this brought up before and I would like to say how I feel while people are talking about it... the way he dresses day to day is how normal people dress, but when I saw him with Kenny and Tim wearing a BO time t-shirt I was a bit surprised. Look how Tim is dressed, clean white slacks, shirt tucked in.. I hope in time he begins to dress that way on stage all the time. I dont know why his manager doesnt say anything.

    2. I hate to say it, but I noticed that too! What's a BO t-shirt??

  56. He won AI not Fashon Star, leave him alone!

  57. That I'm afraid comes with the territory.

  58. People need to quit jumping on everyone's cooments. Note two article's have their comments removed. This will be next. We all have our opinions, but so what. Scotty chooses what to wear (he said that in an interview)and how to wear his clothes. It's not our business. Casual is what's in in country music. Leave the kid alone.

    ReplyDelete
  59. STOP this junk about boots and fashion. Scotty is a real guy . His fans are not The Fashion Police. Scary how many young people place so much importance on the superficial. That's the problem with the culture today- there is no culture or value for the core. Worried that Scotty and parents are going to sense this crazy mindset and turn away from those whom appreciate his caring and talents. People you all just voted himAmerican Idol. Stop thinking you own this kid. This gets more crazy by the minute!

    ReplyDelete
  60. He is a kid for goodness sake. Whenever he appears on CMA, The Opry, or television Scotty is always dressed to the 10's . It's summer at Virginia Beach and Indian Ranch etc. So he is suppose to dress formally??? Sure the kiddie brats would just adore that. Be assured his Mamma takes care of those details and she is a class act for certain.
