  1. I was at this concert last night, and I can confirm that Scotty did have a lot of fun... :) as well as everyone watching him!! He came out singing Walk in the Country, I could see him side stage getting himself pumped up before he came out, it was truly adorable! After that song he talked to the crowd for a few minutes saying how Utahans had always been nice to him, then he sang ILYTB, it was during this song that I noticed to neon posters that popped up throughout the stadium also proclaiming their love for Scotty! After that song he talked again with the crowd about his feelings of being away from home and how it can only be a fraction of what our troops must be feeling, he then went into Letters From Home... he sang this song so beautifully, and to hear him sing it live and with such passion, my eyes filled with tears more than once, it was incredible!! After that song he began his flirting with the crowd, and let me tell you we ate it up!! :) He said that he'd been to Utah 3 times in the past year, and there was one thing that he had noticed... and that was the GIRLS!!! haha It was so adorable and like I said we ate it all up with a spoon!! He sang the trouble with girls, I was hoping he turn his mic out to the crowd, (I have loved watching him do this in his most recent solo concerts) but I can understand why he didn't. He really got everyone involved in WTT... the whole stadium was clapping along and really getting into it. Scotty has such a stage presence and is moving everywhere and just so full of life and this wonderful energy, it is awesome!! To end his set, he did Gone, again so full of energy, he really had that stadium rockin'!! That was it!! Six songs... six incredible songs!! My daughter was commenting how he sounds just like his CD while he is performing live, and it is true, his voice is so pure and rich, just so so beautiful!! One advantage of sitting side stage is I could see when he came out to watch the Beach Boys. Wearing red shorts, a Boston t-shirt and of course his signature hat (not backwards :)) and his rainbow flipflops... Scotty watched about 5 or 6 songs, took some pictures (which I was hoping he would tweet, so I could say, I saw him take those ;)) Then poof he was gone! He didn't show up again, not even for the fireworks.. if I had to guess, I would say that he left before they shut down surrounding roads and traffic turned into a nightmare! It was a great night!! Scotty has turned into such a great performer, he is even better than when I saw him with Brad in SLC at the end of January. (And I thought he was awesome then!) His energy is incredible, and even though he only sang six songs, I believe he left quite an impression on that crowd of 50,000+ Thanks for letting me share my experience... Oh yeah, the Beach Boys and fireworks were great too!! haha Have a great day everyone! (:

  11. Scotty is a very brave young man to perform on such a large stage so alone without backup singers. His band could have been a little closer I think. My daughter (along with two of my grandaughters) is taking me to Bethel, NY in August for my birthday. Can hardly wait.

    1. I know! Those crowds are huge. Most videos captured are from the audience and it's rare that someone pans the crowd to show just how many people are attending these concerts. I would be a nervous wreck on that stage.

That's so sweet that your daughter and granddaughters are taking you to the concert for your birthday! :)

  12. I like the last picture of the stage - you can see how young Scotty is -- and yet, what a voice and what stage presence! He really owns the stage whenever he performs! It will be interesting to watch how he evolves as a country artist and performer.
