Rookie country upstart says he’ll hang a deer head instead of his awards in his college apartment.

So you know how TV character Hannah Montana (played by Miley Cyrus) had the double life, normal high school kid and huge pop star, but the two never mixed?
Scotty McCreery's friends back in his North Carolina hometown say the same thing about him.
"My friends back at home call me the real-life Hannah Montana," the American Idol winner said Sunday night (June 10),
"For the most part I can go eat in my hometown or go bowling and not really be bothered, just a picture here and there. And I enjoy it. I’m having a good time in life right now."
Scotty says he hopes to have a sense of normalcy when he studies communications and public relations at North Carolina State University in the fall.
He says that normalcy won't including living in a dorm because that might be too crazy. But he and some close friends are going to share an apartment near campus.
Visitors won't see Scotty's country music awards in the apartment.
"My buddy’s got a big deer head we’re gonna put in the living room," he said.
The Hannah Montana life will continue—Scotty says he'll have classes three days a week, and he'll be touring and recording for the rest of the week.
"We'll see how it goes," he said.

Ironic isn't it, I think, his friends have Scotty's life pegged right 'the real-life Hanna Montana'. lol. Scotty has planned his life moves, so far, with a lot of thought and wisdom. Should be fun to share an apartment with life-long buddies, while attending university! Way to go! Scotty

ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful video! What a year Scotty's had! The pictures of him here throughout the year are a fans keepsake for sure! As far as being a teen idol, that picture of him at the end with the heart surrounding his head, is adorable, and should have every young teenage girl swooning! Thats a good picture to display for the "Teen Choice Awards". So cute! He is living the "real-life Hanna Montana" life. lol
ReplyDeleteJust perfect---but a little too quick for this old gals eyes. Just about Everything has been said about this wonderful young man. I do agree though that we must keep up the support with the radio requests etc. It amazes me that he seems so young off stage, but performing he is almost a different person.
