Scotty McCreery Already Decorating His College House

Scotty McCreery is an exercise in contrasts. On one hand, he is a country music megastar, having racked up platinum sales, toured the world and performed on both breakfast and late night TV programs with increasing frequency. On the other, he just graduated high school and is preparing for college. McCreery will begin his freshman year at North Carolina State University in the fall. But he’s not wasting any time and is diving right in. He’s already started decorating his new house, which is located just a few miles from the school’s main campus.
“We’ve got a few signs, and my buddy’s got a big deer head we’re going to put in the living room,” McCreery said, according to Country Music Is Love, about making the new place feel like home.
The d├ęcor isn’t going to consist of any of McCreery’s awards, like his recently picked up 2012 CMT Music Awards honor for ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year,’ which he nabbed for ‘The Trouble With Girls.’ He admitted, “I don’t think we’re going to put any of my awards in there. We’re trying to keep things safe.” That’s a wise idea. Don’t need any mishaps during parties or thefts while he is in class.
McCreery, who will major in communications and PR while at NC State, is not planning to put his career on ice while he attends to his studies and his degree, so don’t fret, all you Scotty fans. He’s going to engage in quite a juggling act by doing both. He said, “My friends back home call the me the ‘real-life Hannah Montana’ because I have two lives.”
In order to balance school and work, he will build a two or three day class schedule and route his touring so that he can be on campus on the required days and then fly out for shows on his “off” days.
Few people can pick up an education at the school of life and on the road and in the classroom, but McCreery has a one in a million chance to do so and he’s going for it. He’s a regular ol’ college freshman by day and a country star by night!
We’re not going to lie. The schedule sounds grueling but if anyone can pull it off, it’s our boy Scotty McCreery.

  2. "our" boy Scotty - notice how TOC now always (or almost always) ends a nice article with a comment about how they love Scotty or with something positive from their end - except for BD, of course. Hmmm, trying to pacify the McCreerians?

Leave "our boy" alone or the McCreerians will be coming after you! ;)

  3. Nice article, but I think it's not "his" house, it's an apartment he's sharing with his best & closest friends; and it's not miles from campus, rather "nearby."

  6. Listen to WGAR 99.5 as Scotty is guest DJ for a few more hours. When I turned it on he was introducing WTT and right now he introduced Josh T.'s new song. It definitely has a radio voice. Nice gig, Scotty

  7. I agree, if anyone can handle both worlds, its Scotty. He's proven to be a disciplined, responsible, hard worker! Yet he enoys a good time with friends! His real-life 'Hannah Montanah' lifestyle is one to be admired. I suppose the reason he's made it work, like Scotty says, is the support of his family, great friends, and other supporters he has at home.

  8. I have been reading some really bad comments being said about Scotty today, and I don't like it one bit. I went to mjsbigblog to Idol headlines 6/16/12. Scroll all the way down to the comment section. Quite a few comments (not all about Scotty). At the beginning of the comment section you will see where you have a choice to see the oldest to newest, and there is a little drop down arrow and you can click on it and choose first to oldest. It's the last several comments that are about Scotty.
I so upset. I don't like anything bad being said about him. It is regarding an interview back in april that didn't take place because Scotty's mom got him out of there. The guy that said he was supposed to do the interview said it was because he was gay. And he told Clay Aiken about it. I think it was it was the guy was told no by Scotty's management, so told the story a different way. This is not good publicity for Scotty. Has anyone else heard about this? Some of these comments are saying bad things about Scotty and his Mom.

    1. I'm the same person who posted 5:58. I just want to add that if it happened in April and we have not heard about it then it was no big deal. So why is it being brought up now?

  9. Scotty is mentioned in this weeks People magazine on page 30. It is in the Passages (update celebrity) section and shows a head shot of Scotty in cap and gown during his graduation. It is a nice article about Scotty graduating after winning CMT breakthrough video and then graduating with his class the next day. It also mentions he is touring with Brad an TBP and plans to attend NCS in the fall.

I am always so thrilled when I see him in anything. He is a very special young man.

  10. people forget about negative things said or written about scotty. when you are on top (like scotty is) that green-eyed monster will attack everytime. there will always be someone there that wants to knock him down. so sad but that's the way evil has worked forever. let's keep scotty and his wonderful family in our prayers and ignore all that other nonsense. scotty we all lytb.

  11. 5;58...........That is a lot of nonsense that a bunch of people are commenting over something to put there two cents into about something that took place back in April.A show was cancelled and there .attacking Scotty's Mom who they think apparently don't like gays and that why she cancelled the show.tThey don't know why it was cancelled, and they don't have any of the facts ,but society today twist, and turn things to suite themselves, and to wrongly accuse others even when they don't know what the heck there talking about....being in the spotlight your subject to all kinds of comments either from people that love you,and those that hate you.Idol comments are probably some of the worst to put up with there so much jealousy from the fans of the ones that lost so you don't have one group that dislike you,but a whole truck load of all the contestants you beat to get on the top,and they sure will try to do there best to knock you off in any way possible that they can.It just like Scotty guitar teacher told him it can be a wicked place in the music business,he will have to be able to roll with the punches ,and when he falls down i'm sure he'll have what it takes to keep on going and pick him self up again.I try to stay away from that site they can get wicket.

    1. I agree with your comment! They're making assumptions and unjustified suspicions, without facts over there. I think Scotty and his family are the most wonderful, considerate people, and would never, purposely, slight anyone, no matter what their beliefs. I get so angry, when good people are, unfairly, put under the microscope, without anything happening that warrants it! Unbelievable! but that's the way of the world today, and like you said, Scotty will have to roll with the punches, which he'll do just fine, I'm sure. Its us fans that find it difficult. LOL

    2. Very true, 1:22 AM! I get really angry, too, and very protective! Scotty is like a grandson to me (and MANY other Grammas!) It's a good thing we can't get at them or they would be so daggum sorry they wronged our boy!! Scotty and family handle things like that a lot better than I would!! (SHDC)(:...Plus a lot of prayer, I'm sure!

    3. There is a Mj discussion going on and some of the posters are quite upsetting and annoying. But on the bright side the real haters are clearly the minority and their ugly comments get none or only a few likes.

  12. Scotty has become quite popular now and is enjoying success, and he is well-liked in the industry. Not only has he won 3 major country awards, but even while continuing to perform and be on the road on a major country tour with Brad Paisley, he has managed to finish his senior year and graduate high school with honors. And now he is starting college. There are people out there who are just wanting to find something to tarnish his image and/or character. There are just some people who always want to find fault in something or someone.

Aside from his official website, this is the only fan site (and the best one) that I visit to follow Scotty and I just surf YouTube for video clips.

  13. So true, 12:10. Flush the negative.....and accentuate the positive. I have total faith that God is in conrol. Scotty is a gift to us, and I thank Him everyday for this gift. Scotty is an amazing young man. We do not have to protect him, he is in his Heavenly Father's loving arms. Chill........

  14. 5:58...If those comments upset you, why tell everyone to go that site to read those comments. It's not encouraging. I wouldn't go there because I only want to read the good things.Think twice before you do that again. Like the girls running this site said, Scotty's family made read what's written here. They certainly have heard enough negative so when they come hear it should be all positive. Just a thought.
