  4. Wonderful year for both Scotty and Lauren. Both of these two kind hearts are a gift to the Country Music World. The public has been blessed to see them grow in talent and spirit and assume their places in the music world. Scotty looked and sounded so professional last evening. Many were disappointed he did not sing again on the Wednesday finale. Idol continues to discover amazing young people. However a little to much scre..aming tonite that passed for singing. Ouch.

    1. I AGREE!!!...And it was upsetting that they didn't give Scotty a little more recognition!!!...Didn't even let him say anything to Phillip!?...(I was happy that Phillip won though!... I voted til my fingers and head hurt last nite!)...Scotty was a big hit last nite though, and he is still, and always will be, my only American Idol! I will not watch the show anymore!

    2. You'll watch if Scotty is on - right ?? I am not excited about the show at all this year and missed some, but I will always watch if Scotty is on!!! Luckily, I tuned in last year to the first show to see Jennifer and Steven because then I saw Scotty!!! I also liked Laurn and some of the other contestants, but that Scotty won my heart. He is and will always be the best Idol and I will always support him. I just adore him. I can't wait to see more videos of him on tour and I will be seeing him 3 times this summer. Can't wait!

  5. Scotty, I hope you read these comments, or that at the very least someone tells you about them. You ARE our FOREVER IDOL. As said before, the way you conduct yourself, the respect you show to others, that southern charm, charisma and soul of purity and beauty make us all love you. Your voice is GOD given and so very deep, rich and beautiful. You keep singing cuz we will always love you. God bless you and your special family. You are all one of a kind ! We are so very proud of you. You deserved recognition tonight. Where was American Idol's manners? You did good ! I didn't see you leave the stage, but I know in my heart that you walked proudly with your head held high because that is who you are. I loved being able to see you sing PRM last night.........only one way to right the slight tonight......strike em out !......Second platinum on it's way and we will buy it !!!!!

  6. Agree with all the above comments. I think they should have spent less time on those performances of the judges (awful) and given the outgoing Idol a little time. Have another great year and stay grounded and do what you do best....charm the socks off everyone.

  7. Watched and enjoyed seeing Scotty on the Idol finale last night. However the greatest pleasure was watching Lauren call him up on stage in LA sing. Wow these two just get better and stronger as country artists. The audience was truly in awe of them. Both will have staying power in this crazy music world because they have that unique grasp about what loyalty means and a repect for a higher power than themselves. America will never forget that.

  8. I haven't watched much of AI this season. I began watching when Scotty performed on the show. I pulled for Philip Phillips, but didn't vote. It's just not the same without Scotty. He's my forever American Idol. I can't stand the screaming when some of the people who do have good voices sing. I'm so tired of hearing WGWG always winning. People vote for the person they like, and if it's a WGWG, so be it. Scotty just has it all - very good singing voice, charisma and humble & likeable personality - the very things that would make go see him in concert and buy his music. I can't think of any other singer that I can say that about.

  9. When did singing turn into screaming???? I realize I'm not a youngster, but please!. Jessica has a beautiful voice but when she starts screaming like she and the famous "grammy winner" did I had to put the tv on MUTE. It's crazy! And since I'm in the "over the hill" gang, what is all this "holding the crotch" stuff ? My husband and I find it repulsive and it seems all the pop rock crowd and their dancers are into it. I guess what JLO does is entertainment for some but I just think it's way over the top and all the emphasis is on sex. Thank goodness for artists like Scotty!! You will never have to worry about your kids hearing foul language or watch him do suggestive moves. He is so wholesome and I'm hoping that Phillip will be in the same mode. I agree that there was way too much emphasis on the "judges" ... we all came to watch the idols!!

  11. I did not watch all of this AI season, just the Finale to see who won. The only time I watched an entire season through and through was last year AI10. Again, America got it right this season with Phillip Phillips. Glad he won and I hope that he has a successful music career because he is really that talented.

I think that it should be a rule that none of the judges perform on that show! I mean, really! I think they are using the show to promote themselves and their albums and this is just not right. The show is about the contestants and the winner! Guest performers are okay for entertainment, but not the judges! It just seems that the show is becoming about them and they are not even all that good!

Yesterday was about the new American Idol for 2012/Season 11.

    1. I agree, judges shouldn't be allowed to do that....and they shouldn't be allowed to preach and chastise the voting public on who they think you should vote for...and enough with the standing ovations.
Oh, unless it's anything to do with Scotty, then applaud all you want.

  12. I agree the judges shouldn't perform. All that screaming was annoying. They should have had Scotty more involved. Congrats to PP and I hope he gets well soon. Scotty, thanks for the ride and keep on chuggin'. You were the best AI ever and hope for more success for you.

  13. I didn't really care for last nights performances,I agree there was too much yelling on most of the songs, last year was the best, and I enjoyed the part when Scotty was told he was the winner,it was so much nicer.

  14. That's what Idol has become---IE, the judges promoting their tours, and does Simon have something to do with the other "artists" being showcased? They could have promoted one artist that everyone would have loved.

I regret being negative. This the last time.

  15. I guess I'm alone in this but I don't mind the fact the judges got to showcase themselves. It may have been written into their contracts. I mean, why should the screamer who sang with Jessica get national expose but the judges don't. No, I didn't like either one of their performances, but I don't think that is the point. You can alway hit the "mute". And, I must admit, in this case I LOVED my recently obtained PIP, where I had the video and audio of AI and then the picture of a baseball game on the split screen. When one of the acts came on I didn't like, I just hit "SWAP" :-)

And, they are paid for their opinions. Like Jennifer said, the producers do want them to be more critical (aka Simon Cowell - the judge everyone loved to hate). It's not that I agreed with the judges all that often. It seems they really love to hear the screaming. I did agree with Jimmy Iovine much of the time. But, I don't criticize the judges for doing what they are paid to do. That's why there is an on-off switch which I am not opposed to using.
