Scotty McCreery's video TTWG receives CMT Nomination

The 2012 CMT Music Awards mark the 11th anniversary of the show and will air live from Nashville on June 6 on CMT and CMT.com. Fans can vote now through June 4 to determine the winners -- online at CMT.com, on their mobile device at CMT Mobile or the CMT Insider app available on iPhone, iPad and Android.   1. - I really have to congratulate and give credit also to the 2 songwriters, Philip White and Chris Tompkins who penned the lyrics and composed the music of this song. And also Director Roman White & team for putting out such a sweet, clean, wholesome video!

    4. To "GS" - the video appeals to the younger fans - I actually liked the song even without the video - amazing songwriting really -

      I check the fan sites every now and then, not commenting too much anymore - I miss you girls! :)

      But I will say this ;) - Scotty really does have very good instincts as an artist - I can see just how he has and continues to "study his musical craft" - there's Scotty who's just Scotty, but then there's Scotty the artist, and that comes from his soul - Real artists always speak from their soul in their work - We saw a lot of this in his song choices on AI10 - I was listening to that Brad Paisley song, "Then," and although it is lyrically simple (as most country songs are), there is depth in those lyrics - I can see just how much Scotty looks up to Brad's artistry as a songwriter and performer - Of course others would like to give more meaning to his requesting that song, but I like to look at it from the more artistic point of view -

    6. Agree, K... I go back and forth between romantic meaning and artistic! But Scotty IS first an artist as you say, so no doubt that was the big reason for his choice. And His great admiration and gratitude for Brad's help and friendship!...BUT I am also quite sure he has feelings for a certain girl! Just sayin'!...GS

I like Karee's point of view regarding scotty's choice of the song 'THEN'.. to me its spot on.. exactly what I'm thinking also.. it is much more than the intrepetation of his choice like most of the people here think.. come on..Gabi is one of his very closest friends.. and scotty is still young and has a lot more to experience in his life.. we don't have presume and jump to a conclusion on something that we don't know.. let them be friends .. and as the future no one knows what is instore.. just pray for the best for scotty, his family, all his friends, his hometown and everybody who has been standing faithfully behind him all his way to super stardom..!!   2. You are right Karee- the congratulations for the nomination goes to all that were involved with the video. Including Garner High School and the students that were in the video. Everyone did an awesome job whether the wrote the song, directed the, video or had a part in it! This was an amazing video & I love it

I've been trying for a half hour and it's telling me my email is not verified and I've tried with a different email...I've tried cancelling everything and starting over and still you get through everything and you have check marks next to everything ...then you get that not verified, again. I'll try another time, I was starting to get really angry.
      HAHA, when it comes to voting for Scotty, I seriously want to get those votes in. :)

    1. This is so frustrating....I vote, vote, vote and nothing happens???? It makes me wonder if the votes are manipulated to keep us going to the site and voting over and over. I will continue to vote though, as often as I can. I just get so disheartened....know everyone else is too so I won't give up!!!!

    2. I got an email saying I need to validate my email address. I was able to vote after validation. Looks like we need to sign up for CMT acct, or use our tweeter, fb acct. Most importantly, we can only vote once...

  6. IDK....I was able to go in on Facebook and it let me vote with no problem. However, it looks like we can only vote one time. I logged out and then tried to go back in to vote again, but I could not pull up that same site to vote again. However, it would allow me to open any of the other sites for voting for the other nominees. Will try again tomorrow and see if it will let me vote again....maybe only once a day???

  7. I didn't have any problem voting either 11:24am. Just login to my facebook, & voted. But I am sure we can only vote once a day. It said thank you for voting, or something like that. Gettig excited for Scotty for all these nominations. :) Lets do this Scotty fans!!

  8. When I sign in to CMT to vote for Scotty's video, it lets me in and I vote, but then the screen goes darker with the "sign-in box" at the very bottom of the page. Will I see any kind of "thank you for voting box" come onto the screen to let me know that I voted correctly?

  10. i could vote on my kindle fire then i went on home computor logged in goggle chrome let me vote i cleared out then went in goggle and it let me vote again.

  11. Yeah, I opened a CMT account (e-mail addy, pw, etc), received an e-mail from CMT telling me to validate my email addy right there in the email message. Did that, then returned to CMT Awards nominess page and voted in every category. Got a "thank you" after each category vote. I wasn't sure if I could just one in the one category, so wasn't gonna take any chances.lol

  12. If you have trouble w/voting CMT, check your SPAM folder for the verficiation email sent by CMT. Mine was there. After receiving the email, I was set to vote. Good luck!

    1. Thank you so much for the tip. I found it in my spam file...and this is after I chewed out CMT...hehehe...oops. Hey maybe if I think about how they took his videos off the countdown I'll feel better about the cranky comment I gave them. I didn't use any foul language ;)

It's the same way as when we voted for the cam award - you need to register with your email acct and validate it - log in with your password or via your twitter or facebooK - same way we did for the acms - I think there is a barrage of voting at the same time and that may be the reason their system cannot accommodate voter traffic - when news of this got out Scotty fans just went crazy - you can vote ONLY 1X daily per IP address/device --

  15. What is So AWESOME now.... when the McCreery's go to Nashville to the award ceremony, maybe Gabi can go with them now?? After all, she is THE STAR actress of the TTWG video that is being nominated, so maybe she can walk the Red Carpet with him and sit beside him at the ceremony. Wouldn't that be cool for both of them??
