I know I should have only asked Scotty McCreery questions about his ACM nomination. But come on. Aren't you a little curious about his upcoming college life and how he ended up making the choice he did? Me, too. So when he came walking down the red carpet at Sunday's (April 1) awards show, I first asked him how he did on his SATs. "I did pretty well. The score was up there, and enough to get me into college," McCreery told me. Then I asked McCreery if he will be doing the whole college experience for real. Will he eat in the cafeteria? Be a Lambda Chi? Pull all-nighters studying for psych finals? And he said as much as possible, yes. "I've got four guys I know pretty well that I'm gonna room with. Guys I can trust. I don't know what dorm life will be like, and I for sure didn't know what a random roommate would be like," he admitted. He also told me he'd try to maintain a schedule of school during the week and shows on weekends. I know country stars are so good at balancing families and life on the road. But has anyone ever done what McCreery is going to do: balance college and life on the road?

  2. I remember when Scotty won AI and his family was being interviewed. His dad made the comment that attending college was "non-negotiable". Kudos to Scotty and his family....if ANYONE can do this, Scotty can!!! McCreerians have got your back, Scotty!

  3. No one has ever done what Scotty McCreery has done ALREADY. Scotty has gone against the norm, set records, done the impossible and done it honestly and nicely. All along his way up the ladder of success Scotty has taken his friends, family and faith along with him instead of stepping on them on his way up. So there should be no doubt about his future plans and his ability to carry them out. Scotty has the best "manager" in the world--our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Don't worry about tomorrow,God is already there!

  5. I think that it is awesome that he is going to be rooming with his best friends at college! They will keep him grounded. I read an article the other day about the reaction NC students had about him attending their school. One said that it would be no different than sitting next to an athlete. Another student said that she grew up with Scotty and it Amazes her to hear him on the radio and see him on TV but at church and back in Garner, he is simply still "just Scotty"
