Scott Porter, who plays George Tucker on Hart Of Dixie, gave us a call this morning to talk about this week’s big episode that will bring a familiar Carolina face to the screen: Scotty McCreery. The Blue Bell, Alabama set show features Scott Porter alongside Rachel Bilson and Jaime King as a small town lawyer who meets a New York City doctor. Scott’s character George Tucker was the eye of a bombshell last week and those who watch Hart Of Dixie know exactly the drama that unfolded. If you’re not an avid watcher (what are you waiting for?!) an affair came to light featuring George Tucker’s fiance and the town mayor. But how does Scotty McCreery fit in? This week’s episode, George takes some time to sort his feelings and runs away to New Orleans in hopes to achieve everything off of a bucket list. As he enters a Big Easy jazz club, who else is singing on stage than Carolina’s own Scotty! A bigger surprise for Hart of Dixie fans is that Porter shows off his own musical style and sings on the show! “It’s nice to exercise those muscles again and be able to show new fans of Hart of Dixie I have a little versatility,” Porter admits. He sings a version of Jambalaya made famous by Hank Williams in tonight’s episode. Is it nerve-wracking to show off in front of an American Idol winner? “I’m trying to show him up,” Porter jokes with Tanner. “I could’ve been on American Idol.” With over eight years of singing and beatboxing experience, there’s no doubt Porter has dabbled in both music and acting. Catch Hart of Dixie tonight on the CW at 9pm!
