Voting How to Guide

Seems like a lot of McCreerians are having a hard time voting. Hopefully this post can help out some.

Step 1: Go to voteacm.com. You will then see the screen below.

Step 2: Sign in OR Sign up. For the first day, you will fill out the form you see below. After you click sign up, you may need to refresh the page.

To know that you are signed in, the blue words on the right side of the page should look like the picture below:

Step 3: Vote! Scroll down past category one (or put in a vote for Entertainer of the Year) to see Brantley, Hunter and Scotty.

Step 4: Submit. Type in the verification code and click submit vote.

After voting, you should get a screen that says thanks for voting. I had already voted by the time I created this so I wasn't able to capture the screen picture. It will be a pop up on the screen that says something like 'Thank You. Every vote matters'. If you are unsure if you've voted, try signing in again. I did and I immediately saw this:

IMPORTANT- You can only vote ONCE A DAY per COMPUTER. The site will track your computer and even if you create another account, it will harm Scotty's votes in the end. Rather, spread the word getting your family and friends to create accounts and vote on their computers.

Most importantly, remember to vote each and every day and to spread the word. Make sure to watch the special tonight on GAC and the ACMs on April 1!

Let us know in the comments if you have any questions and hopefully someone, somewhere knows the answer :)

  1. THANK YOU, TARAH! I think I did it a bit backwards, but my vote was counted. :) I just feel so bad that fans in places outside the US cannot vote. :(

  3. Thank you! I'm Canadian and it worked for me, only after I took your advice, and refreshed the page! I don't understand why they have 'term details' that says we can't vote. Good thing, I tried again or, I would not have been voting. Thanks again for your help!!

    1. Now I'm confused, again. I voted again to see what comes up and it said, "Thank you your vote matters" not "Thanks you've already voted today". Has anyone else voted and gotten that response?

    2. I think it means your vote was counted - so when you see "Thank you, your vote matters", that means your vote was counted or accepted, and you cannot vote again until the next day --

    1. I do not agree with you. You just have to click on sign up and open an account at voteacm.com. I was not signed in to facebook or twitter and my vote counted.

They just give you the choice of signing up for an account or use your facebook or twitter. But you do not have to have facebook or twitter account to vote.

I tried to sign up for an account to CBS and got this “We are sorry, but we are unable to create an account for you at this time. I have been at this for the pass hours and getting no way fast

    1. where it says use one of the following partners like facebook or twitter--they just mean you can use them if you do not want to open an account but you do not have to use them.

In upper right hand corner click on SIGN-UP and complete the little pop up form to open an account. Make sure you type in that mixed up word thing also. After that, click the little star like thing in the right hand corner of the little pop up form you just completed so it will close. Once that closes, then click on SIGN_IN and enter your sign-in info *email and the password you just put in for the account you just opened. When you are done you can vote.

  8. Very confusing! This is not at all working like it did when we voted last time.

It shows I am logged in. When I vote, it comes up and says something like "Thank you, every vote counts", but the voting page does not disappear or reset. So, I tried to vote again, and received the same screen "Thank you, etc. not that I had already voted. I am not on FB or Twitter either and do not plan to join either one. The first round of voting did not require you to be on either to count your vote.

  18. This is an unfortunate voting set-up. I voted and my co-workers voted, but only those with a facebook or twitter account and still not easy. Several of us had to put our facebook or twitter info in then go to the refresh where you put the 2 words in and the hit vote and and fill out the facebook or twitter again to get it to finally say Thank you for voting. I just tried on my home computer and and it said one vote per day and to vote again tomorrow. So I think it is by account info not computer.

I was going to try to walk my parents through this who want to vote for Scotty, but much too dificult for them. They didn't make it easy for the grandparents. I am sure Scotty's grandparents are having issues too. What a shame they can't easily vote for their wonderful grandson.

If you find another way to do this, than what I just described, please let us know.

    Thank you

  19. NOTE: You DON'T have to be signed into facebook or twitter to vote. Just go to the CBS voting page, open an account, and VOTE!!! If you have an e-mail address, there shouldn't be a problem.

I have a friend who isn't signed into either Facebook or Twitter. She has IE (Internet Explorer) and a yahoo e-mail account. She simply signed up on the CBS voting page and was able to vote. I also signed up on the CBS voting page with no problem. The captcha words were a beast to read, but I worked it out on the 2nd try. Come on, peeps...let's do this for Scotty!!!!!

  21. This is so frustrating..I will try going to the CBS voting page so I don't have to sign in on FB using my husband's computer. He won't vote - I have to do it for him. I will try try again...it shouldn't be this hard.

  22. For those of you who feel that your vote went thru:

Did the page clear after it thanked you for voting? Whenever I've voted on line, it has always done that. Mine did not and it let me vote again, so it must not have gone thru. Got the same response when I voted again and still the page did not clear. Initially, I voted for Entertainer and for Scotty, when I only received the thank you, but not a page clearing. The 2nd time, I tried voting just for Scotty and it told me I had to vote in both categories, which I did, but still it didn't clear and it let me try to vote again. I'm not going to push it but I really don't think the vote went thru either time.

They suggested I reset my password. after changing my password I refreshed the page and got the same msg. I don't plan on giving them my Face Book or Tweeter permission to get into those accounts. Very confusing! This is not at all working like it did when we voted last time.

  24. I also had problems trying to set up an account with CBS. I had to create an account using email address, name, and birth date and then type in those hard to read words. Then a message said I was successful. At that point I had to return to the top of the page and sign in. Once I did the screen showed the two categories and I selected Brad and Scotty. Had to type two more hard to read words and hit the vote button. Got a message that said thanks and whatever else it said. I was so annoyed that it took over 1hour to vote I just walked away from the computer. I hope no one gives up and keeps trying to vote. You can set up a CBS account. But after creating it you need to go back to the top of the page and sign in. I do not use Facebook or twitter so I was determined to vote via CBS account. I need some herbal tea!

  25. As a few posters previously stated, anyone with an e-mail address can vote by signing up on the CBS voting page @voteacm.com. Chill out folks, we can do this!!!!

  26. Hi I signed up on CBS with my yahoo e-mail address and password. lI did this several times and finally it did say thank you you have already voted. SO PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP SCOTTY NEEDS ARE VOTES. I am 75 years old and so glad that it finally went through.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I didn't have any trouble voting...yes it can be annoying, but once you set it up, the next time you vote all you should have to do is put the 1st letter or # in each box and your info will pop up and you just click on that to fill each box( name, email, whatever)that's what happened last time, don't let it discourage you, Scotty needs our help.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Please do not say "Chill Out"; that is demeaning to people who are just asking questions and trying to understand why, when they have logged into CBS, their vote still does not seem to be getting thru.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well I made an account with CBS and logged in after, than voted and it went thru. just fine. I went to check just in case, and when I logged in it said thank you, you have already voted today. But I will say I had to keep hitting refresh to get one of those crazy words that I could read. So I really don't know why it is not working for some of you. That is werd.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe there are just so many people voting at the same time that it overwhelmed the system. It is letting me vote whenever I try but the page does not reset when I hit "vote", so I don't think it is going thru even though it is saying "Thank you, every vote counts" If it went thru, it shouldn't let me vote again. I might try later in the evening and see if it does anything differently,.

    2. OK, this time, even though it showed I was logged in (showed my name), I logged out and when I tried to log back in, without even trying to vote, it told me I had already voted.

So, if some of you are who have logged onto CBS in the past, and they still show you have an account with them, trying logging out and logging back in. That worked for me.

  30. McCreerians, Thy other names are Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance...couple that with Prayer.

Don't give up. The first time is really frustrating. Like what others have said, you don't need to have Facebook or Twitter accounts to vote in. Just do this: (But before you do, open another window or tab for the CBS site, so you can refer back to this step by step procedure.)

    1. Go to http://voteacm.com/

    2. At the right side of your screen, there is a portion that says Sign In/Sign Up. You will see this above the SEARCH CBS bar. Click the Sign Up button/tab. A "Create An Account" will roll down and you just have to fill that up - email address, password, date of birth, and name - first and last, type in the two difficult to decipher words, and then, check the portion where you agree to their terms and conditions. Click SIGN UP. You will see then on the same side - "Account successfully created. Login with your new account." Click the X button to close the CREATE AN ACCOUNT portion, and then, click the button SIGN IN.

    3. Sign In now by filling up the portions - email and password - be sure to use your email and your password that you used when creating your new account. And then, click the button SIGN IN. The site will refresh by itself and you will see your name displayed on the right side beside the SIGN OUT button, the same position where the SIGN IN button used to be.

    4. Vote for your Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year.

    5. Type in the two words - that is so difficult to decipher - and when you're 100% sure that you got the two words right - click the submit button.

    6. "THANK YOU! YOUR VOTE MATTERS...." will appear. That's it. YOU'RE DONE!

hope this helps those who are having a hard time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If "thank you, your vote matters" means my vote is accepted and it doesn't need to say, like it does for others on their second try 'thanks you've already voted today' then I guess, its all good for me, and for others that have been wondering! Thanks for clarifying that! Hope your right! Guess, we'll know more tomorrow when we vote again.

    2. This is a great explaination. I was haveing trouble at first until I went up to the R hand corner and just set up a new account - it worked. Then I went and set up my husbands and it worked. Keep trying, I know it is frustrating, especiallly for those of us who didn't "grow up" with these computers !!!Hahah !!!

  31. The reason I couldn't create an account or was blocked from registration is because CBS does not support Google Chrome, my current browser, so I did it through Internet Explorer and account is created but it says thanks, every vote counts and does not tell me I've voted, so I still do not know if my vote counted. I'll try again tomorrow. ?????????????????

    1. Mac,
Is it possible you have an old account that you don't even know about (I didn't know I had one). Maybe you could try clicking on where it says "I forgot my password". Then you can put in your e-mail address and they'll e-mail you a link to reset your password. Might not work but heck, at this point, worth a try.

      Delete
    2. Which browser are you using? I was using Google Chrome and finally got the message some place that CBS does not support Google Chrome as a browser. I used Internet Explorer to create an account with CBS - put in my email address and created a password - and it works. That's the account through CBS and not Facebook or Twitter. Once you sign in to your CBS account and vote, and it says thank you every vote counts - sign out and sign back in and it will say you have already voted today. At least that's what I did. The browser I was using was my problem. Good luck. We'll all get it.

    3. You can try what @anonymous 02:10pm said...ask for another password...or...try clearing up your cookies...check your browser - CBS site might not be supporting your current browser now as it only supports Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, and Safari...and supports the following operating system only: Windows XP and Vista, Mac OSX.....look into your security settings, there might be something that blocks your connection with their server....

      and like @anonymous 02:10pm - worth a try....everything for scotty.

I tried to go back in and copy that part to post here, but I couldn't get past the "you have already voted" notice, so I can't copy it until tomorrow. Maybe someone else can look it up and post it today so possible votes aren't wasted.

    1. As I understand it, the "one vote per person, per method of voting; for a total of two(2) votes per person," is only for the Entertainer of the Year Voting Program - for their 2nd Phase. EOY has 2 Voting Phases. While the New Artist of the Year has only one Voting Phase - which starts from March 19 - April 1, 2012. And it did tell, "Users may vote once per person per day during the Voting Period; all votes in excess of the maximum allowed will be disqualified."

but McCreerians are known to be resourceful...LOL.

Once you log on thru twitter/facebook or CBS with your email go back to where the 2 words are and press the small sideways arrow buttons and then put in 2 new words they give then press vote and it worked for me or fill out the info and then exit out of site then go back in and it should update your info and now will allow you to vote without the hassle. I had to do it several ways at my office because the computers are set-up a little differently and some have twitter/facebook or new to CBS. I have faith that tommorrow will be very quick if you take the time now.

  48. Sad that some of our McCreerians won't be able to vote. And definitely, it will put a "dent" on Scotty's votes. We really have to double time spreading the word through Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites...email, text, call our families and friends, if we have, too. If we have to make it trend until April 1, 2012 (is it possible? :D ) .... This is to at least augment Scotty's votes (because of lost votes due to some of us being unable to vote) and at the same time avoiding being penalized because we voted over the allowed limit per person per day.

Not only do we have to spread the word, but ensure that they really vote, too.

Hope those 467 thousand plus twitter followers of Scotty will vote for him :)

    1. Hi Pat,

Just be guided by this: "Users may vote once per person per day during the Voting Period; all votes in excess of the maximum allowed will be disqualified."

Yup, I know McCreerians will find a way....

Happy voting, everyone! By God's grace, we can make it happen again.

SPREAD THE WORD, McCREERIANS...AND LET THE COUNTRY MUSIC PEOPLE HEAR OUR VOICE!

  55. Day two of voting was really easy. I think you just have to get past the initial phase of registration. The easiest way is to open an account with CBS. After the first day, just cast your vote, put in the scrambled words and hit submit. My vote went through right away. We McCreerians can do this!!! Scotty was great as usual on last night's ACM new artist preview show on GAC. He sure has "it" whatever it is. Let's get him to the top! We did this all last year on AI and we can do it again. He certainly deserves it. Go Scotty and go McCreerians!!!!!

  57. I can't even remember how I succeeded Day 1---it took awhile. However, Day 2 was a snap. And I am almost 79 years old. I just hope people won't give up.

I don't see how we made it to the moon.

    2. Though, I got a laugh out of the comment "how did we get to the moon" I do sincerely, hope Mac and others, are able to get their votes through! Don't give up. I can laugh now, but it wasn't easy at first!

  61. just wondering when voting on differant computers do you have to have differant accounts for each on cbs?

    1. You can use the same computer but you need different email accounts.
I signed up my two email accounts and I've been voting using each account on the same computer. CBS must be tracking by email accounts not by the device being used.

  62. I cannot sign in or sign up on the voting website. I signed in the first day and it didn't work correctly as I never got a message that my vote counted. The second day I could vote so I signed out to sign in again and now I can't do anything. I can't sign up, sign in, vote or anything...anyone have any ideas? I'm going crazy over this as I want to vote. PLEASE HELP

    1. one factor you have to consider is the time frame. remember the time when you were able to vote. since the voting program says PER DAY, you cannot sign in with the same account (email and password) on the same device within the 24-hour time frame. you can only log in on the same device with the same account after the 24-hour time frame when you first log in.

  63. I am having the same trouble voting. The first few days I voted every day. Now it says my password is incorrect and they will e-mail me a new password in a few minutes. I have never recieved this e-mail. I tried to set up another account and it says "Registration is blocked". I can't sign in or sign up or vote now. If anyone knows why, please help.
