Scotty McCreery headed back to the pitchers mound when the tour wraps up

Right after he finishes the Virtual Reality tour with Brad Paisley, Scotty McCreery has an item on his "to do" list you might not expect. He'll be going home to Garner, NC to play high school baseball. Scotty's been on the team for four years, even though he wasn't able to play last year because he was so busy with American Idol. The high school senior says his star status didn't garner him any favors when it came to try-outs either. "Singing don't really mean you can really play ball well. So, they had to see if I had a little something left in me. "

Scotty will miss the first couple games before the tour wraps in March, but he believes he's up for the challenge. "I have a feeling though it's gonna be rough. I'm a pitcher, so I have a feeling when I get on the mound guys are gonna be taunting me and stuff. I'm just gonna blow it off and strike 'em out!"

  3. I love what the DJ said to him a couple of weeks ago, that if people heard he was pitching a particular game, would maybe 40 or 50 people show up to watch...haha...kidding that she knew more than that would probably show up and in true Scotty style, he lowers his head and shrugs his shoulders and just says that the higher ups are looking into what they might have to do about that and that he didn't want to disappoint anyone who might be expecting a major league pitching performance. Scotty is a sweetheart. All his fans know that this boy works hard and tries his best at whatever he does...it's not possible, win or lose, that he could disappoint any of us when he just stays true to himself.

  5. I am happy that you will be pitching again. This will be your last chance as soon you will be graduating from school and you will want to receive your letter for baseball. Keep up the good work and focus on baseball as you have done in the past. I know you will be a success and I hope someone will post a video of you pitching. Best of luck and best wishes.

  6. So thrilled that Scotty will be able to play ball this year with all the boys he grew up playing ball with. I know it will be so much fun for all of them to finish out their senior year together. These are memories that Scotty and his friends will cherish for years to come. And I love Scotty's attitude....if the other team starts taunting, just "blow it off and strike 'em out"! LOVE IT!!!
