About the ACM New Artist of the Year Nominees:
Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery's debut album, Clear As Day, was certified platinum in just three months, and he was recently named No. 1 on Billboard magazine's list of Top New Country Artists for 2011. Clear As Day debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts, making him the youngest man in history to open at the top of the all-genre chart with a debut release. It garnered the highest sales of any country solo album released last year and held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for six weeks. The album's first single, I Love You This Big, has been certified gold, and his current single, The Trouble With Girls, is approaching gold status. He is currently touring as part of Brad Paisley's Virtual Reality Tour 2012 presented by Chevrolet.

ReplyDeleteIf you look strictly at CAD stats and the two singles, it would seem to me that Scotty should have the professionals vote!!!! So us fans better get busy on March 19. You are working so hard Scotty and that doesn't go unnoticed by your fans.

ReplyDeleteThis too much excitement for this old man in one week. I have checked out the other Nominees and yes they are good but you know what no one can come close to Scotty for his voice and what Scotty stands for. Just look at how hard he has worked in the past year and where he is today. No one can match that I am so sure it will be our Scotty who will be the Best New Artist of Year.
ReplyDeleteTHATS MY BOY was feeling down yesterday, then see TTWG go gold & today finalist in new artist for the acm awards now I'm all hper & exited, just had to let out big shout, maybe I'll calm down now.just can't go long without hearing or seeing new performances of you,I may just have to move to garner.this is really bad on not so young lady .you little contagious bug.love ya much MJ IN TX
ReplyDeleteSo excited and I always feel like a proud mama when I hear something that he's done. I wonder what he is in the studio recording today. Wish I knew.
ReplyDeleteSCOTTY MCCREERY, You already got our votes!! You are simply the BEST!!
ReplyDeleteBay Area, CA FAN
I sent him a Tweet when I heard and told him his fans have his back and will vote everyday for him, not to worry. We love him to the moon and back.
ReplyDeleteBig congratulations to Scotty for his hard work leading to all of the records and awards he has established and gained in this past year! As he goes forward he should know that his fan base is ever growing and very committed to supporting him as he gains stature in the Country music world.
ReplyDeleteI got this from MJ's....This is a post from WINDMILLS, who's opinion always seems to be right on target!! (Congrats Scotty & his fans!
ReplyDeleteI know it's not in the nature of big fans to relax but FWIW, he's got this. The industry knows he's going to run away with the fan vote and won't get in the way. Neither of the other 2 nominees have that much critical acclaim to back them up even if Hunter Hayes has more cred (he still has the issue of his voice which reminds people of Gary Levox, which won't help him). That's not going to be strong enough to overcome the sheer numbers as far as sales and popularity Scott has, not even in the eyes of industry voters. If they didn't want him to win, they would've block voted against him to prevent him from being in the semifinals and finals. It didn't happen. He's going to win. So, vote away (they want and expect you to) but it's not something worth stressing yourself out over IMO.)
Another day with great news about our Scotty! With God, family, & fans by his side, how can he lose! Congratulations to a wonderful young man!
ReplyDeleteWonderful I can't wait to vote.
ReplyDeleteJust had a chance to "check in" to see if there was any news on our young man and this is what I find!!!!! We are all so excited and proud of you Scotty and you can be sure your fans will do our part to help you win the ACM New Artist Of The Year. Thank you for staying the same sweet, caring young man we fell in love with on AI. You have taken country music to another level while still holding on to the traditional music we have loved for so many years. I have to smile when I see all the teens and pre-teens going crazy for the same country sound that we "old folks" went crazy for when we were young. You are just amazing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful is right ,your fans love you so much,I never was a country fan until you won AI and now I love your music and I listen to country radio,I buy CDs,you are the best .All your fans will make sure they do their part in getting you the final ,New Artist of The year award.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone has the fans Scotty does, maybe TS and B gets alot more fans but it's because they cross over to pop ,but Scotty will remain true country, because that's who he loves the most.
ReplyDeleteg1dragon Feb 9,2012 12:40 PM, thank you so much for posting MJ's blog from Windmills. It is exciting to feel that Scotty has a grand chance of winning the ACM New Artist title, and I certainly feel that Scotty does, but I find MJ's blog to be flippant about what all our young man has accomplished. MJ seems to be "stirring up the pot" so the other contestants' fans will want to vote more, and make Scotty fans feel that they do not have to vote as hard as we always have and will do for our boy. MJ, this blog is only going to make me, a Scotty fan and protector, vote even harder right up through April 1, until 8:00pm ET. I have found out that nothing can be taken for granted, and Scotty's wonderful, God-given talent, his charitable nature, and his wholesome image will rally all Scotty fans to vote even harder. Scotty, you have all of my votes and may God bless you as you attend school, attend your church, perform on your other stage-the pitcher's mound, tour with Paisley/Band Perry, and just being who you are--a good 'ole Country Singing young man. I am 60, so I have grandchildren of my own, and I have added Scotty McCreery to the list. Thank you, God, for what this honorable, young fellow has meant to me during the past months.
ReplyDeleteg1dragon Feb 9,2012 12:40 PM, I am so new at leaving comments, and please excuse me for misreading that your post was from a blog by MJ and WINDMILLS was a blogger just making a comment about what MJ wrote. Please accept my lack of knowledge on this matter, but I am working hard on learning how to do all of this posting. I get so mixed up with all the different abbreviations, profiles, etc., but I am learning. I do "feel" what I wrote above, but just should have put WINDMILLS where I put MJ. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. (Wish I had a picture with a large hat pulled down over my head.)
DeleteI will be voting everyday to help Scotty!
