RIP Whitney Houston

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of Whitney Houston during this difficult time
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal

Whitney Houston, Superstar of Records, Films, Dies

Among the ones that she has left behind is her daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Whitney seemed to be born into greatness. She was the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston, the cousin of 1960s pop diva Dionne Warwick and the goddaughter of Aretha Franklin. At her peak, Houston the golden girl of the music industry. From the middle 1980s to the late 1990s, she was one of the world's best-selling artists. She wowed audiences with effortless, powerful, and peerless vocals that were rooted in the black church but made palatable to the masses with a pop sheen. Her success carried her beyond music to movies, where she starred in hits like "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale." She had the perfect voice, and the perfect image: a gorgeous singer who had sex appeal but was never overtly sexual, who maintained perfect poise. She influenced a generation of younger singers, from Christina Aguilera to Mariah Carey, who when she first came out sounded so much like Houston that many thought it was Houston.

  11. another gifted artist dies too soon and in atroubled state...reminds me of Elvis. Whoever introduced her to the drug world has to live with this. I can't say I was surprised. She's had a very tumultuous relationship with her husband...weird public disturbances etc. How sad..she had an incredible voice. My heart goes out to her family. And, Scotty, we love you so much that you have your head on straight and know that's a road you won't go down. We love you and pray you stay as you are. Whitney, RIP.
