This isn't anything too serious but an Atlanta radio and TV blogger posted his picks for the 25 most successful Idol contestants to date. This is his 3rd year doing so. The '(new)' references that Scotty hadn't been on the list for the past 2 editions.

Here's what he had to say about how he picks:

For the third year, here’s my list of the 25 most successful “Idol” contestants to date. I based my rankings on album sales, radio airplay, movie and TV roles and Broadway stints, as well as name recognition and basic buzz with a totally unfair bias toward recent performance. And if I happen to like them more personally, well, that helps, too. This is not scientific in the least so please mock and attack me at will.

10- Scotty McCreery (new) – The season 10 winner just went platinum with his latest debut album. Hardly anybody goes platinum anymore so that’s an impressive feat. The teen has managed to generate two radio hits despite resistance from many country program directors. So far, so good.

  1. This is an amazing accomplishment especially in this day and time. Radio stations that are still resistant to play Scotty will eventually see that Scotty and his fans aren't going anywhere. They might as well go ahead and give in now. It is sad that they hold him back because he won tv show and they don't think you should just get into the country world with paying your dues. Well I say talent is talent and who cares where you find it. Scotty is an excellent role model and a fresh face for country music. Keep up the good work Scotty.

  2. What radio seems to forget is that Carrie Underwood was on AI, Chris Young and Miranda Lambert were on Nashville Star. They seem to have really short memories. Scotty has huge amounts of talent, they should stop this nonsense and jump on board the unstoppable Scotty train.

  3. SO the writer makes his selections not by what talent is all about, appeal to the masses of fans, etc. but really boils down to his personal choice . A combination of a talent as raw and a personality as appealing as Scotty's (and add brains) is unstoppable. Scotty is going to live on and reach the top because present generation fans are contributing to exposing their extended families and friends to his voice and songs. No radio airplay by DJs will deter him to reach his and his fan's goals.

  4. Well I guess selling over a million CDs platinum status is not enough for some radio stations . What more do they want? Maybe Scotty fans should not tune into these stations. Maybe he is to Nice doesn't drink smoke cuss enough . God will guide him he doesn't need these people

  6. I did not finish my comment and to come back on. God got Scotty in his hands. God said in his word I will bless those who bless Scotty and curse those who curse Scotty. Quoting what God said to Abraham, the blessing of the Lord is upon Scotty.
