Scotty McCreery BHS wins McCreery concert

http://lab.southernlakesnewspapers.com/?p=1108

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery will perform a concert at Burlington High School this fall.

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery will perform a concert at Burlington High School to reward students there for collecting the most toys in a concert sponsored by Milwaukee radio station FM 106.

BHS was one of five high schools chosen to compete in the contest — the others were Greendale, Kewaskum, South Milwaukee and Waukesha West. The schools combined to collect 9,724 toys for the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Burlington students, staff and community members donated more than 2,100 toys to the effort, according to teacher Matt Behringer, who assisted with the drive.

For a full story on BHS’s effort, including a photo of the collected toys, see the Nov. 10 print edition of the Burlington Standard Press.

Scotty McCreery vs. Justin Moore – The Showdown

http://tasteofcountry.com/scotty-mccreery-justin-moore-showdown/

Scotty McCreery is officially a two-week Taste of Country Showdown champion, and now he’s taking on Justin Moore. His song battle against Chris Young last week — ‘The Trouble With Girls’ vs. ‘You’ — resulted in record voter turnout, and in the end, the 18-year-old won with just over 61 percent of the votes. The ‘American Idol’ champion helped his own cause by urging his Twitter followers to help him out.

Moore’s newest hit, ‘Bait a Hook,’ is racing up country music charts. The song makes a mockery of the pretty boy that some girls (in this case, Moore’s ex-girl) are attracted to. The video stars racer Carl Edwards, so perhaps the singer can count on the NASCAR vote this week. McCreery’s popular ‘The Trouble With Girls’ video features his high school friends, so he’s got plenty of potential support as well. Listen to both songs and then decide which one you want to take the title this time around.

Voting for this round of the Showdown will end on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 11:59PM ET. If McCreery wins, he’ll face a new challenger next week, and he’ll try to become the first member of the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame (a four-week winning streak would retire him to Hall of Fame status). If Moore tops him in this match, he’ll be the one to move on to next week’s round.

My Very off topic, yet dear to me post.

There is a little boy names Jonah in need of a bone marrow transplant, I know this post has nothing to do with Scotty, and I don't usually post things that aren't related to Scotty. David Archuleta from American Idol Season 7 introduced fans to a little boy named Jonah a few years back, and it seems Jonah is in desperate need.  He is the sweetest, cutest, most adorable little boy.  See Jonah get a thrill when he was able to sing with David at a Soccer game.  Soccer and David are this little boys favorite things, and "Make a Wish Foundation" made it possible for Jonah to have 2 dreams reached in one day. First meet David, and also meet his favorite soccer players.  David took it one step further, and invited Jonah to sing "Touch My Hand" with him on the field.  Please help spread the word, as thousands of donors have been tested, but they have yet to find a match, and time is running out for this little boy. This breaks my heart.  See Jonah and David below along with a flyer that has been created.  This is a race to save a child, and feel that in this case it's OK to be a little off topic. I say this, because I believe Scotty wouldn't mind a post about saving a child.  Thanks again.

Please spread the word.

One more day for the poll "What should Scotty's Next single Be"

Thanks for all those that voted on the poll on the side bar, seems we have a 2 front runners! The poll will end tomorrow, but I will keep the results on the side bar. I don't know when Scotty will release his next single, but it seems the fans are split on 2 songs, and even though the fans love all the songs, this was just a "Next Single" poll. No matter what the fans seem agree it needs to be an upbeat song.  Thanks again for voting!!
