Friday, October 14, 2011 Scotty will finally get his ride Saturday

With all the fame and glory that Scotty McCreery received after being named "American Idol" in May, one thing has been missing — the Ford vehicle he got to pick out as a victory prize.
That will be rectified on Saturday, when Scotty goes to Crossroads Ford of Cary to get his Ford -F150 King Ranch.
In an interview last month at his Garner home, Scotty said his truck was on order. His mom, Judy McCreery, joked that Scotty would be covering the insurance on the new vehicle himself.
That shouldn't be a problem. Scotty's first CD, "Clear As Day," came out Oct. 4 and sold 196,739 copies in its first week, ranking No. 1 on the Billboard charts. He's also received gold record certification for his first single, "I Love You This Big."
On the "American Idol" finale show, Scotty and runner-up Lauren Alaina were both told they could pick any brand-new vehicle from Ford, a major "Idol" sponsor. Each also got to select a favorite teacher to get a Ford too -- Scotty chose his Garner High School chorus teacher, Meredith Clayton.
Scotty also learned this week that he's been nominated for an American County Award in the category of New Artist. His competition is The Band Perry, Jerrod Niemann, The Pistol Annies and Thompson Square. (Scotty covered that band's hit, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?" on "Idol.")
The awards will air Dec. 5 on Fox.

Scotty McCreery 90K - 95K in sales for week 2 CLEAR AS DAY

Clear as Day is expected to hold strong for it's 2nd week, with sales figure o 90k - 95k.  We will have to wait and see if he takes the #2 or #3 album spot as Adele is expected with sales of 90-110K.

If these 2nd week numbers WORRY YOU ... STOP.THAT.RIGHT.NOW.  These are EXCELLENT 2nd week sales figures.  Usually a 70% drop on the 2nd week is normal, Scotty seeing a 50% drop in the 2nd week means he's holding STRONG.

From HDD

Evanescence will score the #1 album next week. It's the #2 spot that may be up for grabs as Adele, in her 34th week, will face some competition from Scotty McCreery, down only 50-55% in his second week, and from Jeff Kwatinetz's Five Finger Death Punch, who will more than double their previous best chart week. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend:

*Evanescence (Wind-up) 110-120k
Adele (XL/Columbia) 95-105k
Scotty McCreery (Mercury Nashville/19/Interscope) 90-95k
