WINNING!! DUH!! SCOTTY MCCREERY!!!
Scotty McCreery, 17, beat fellow country artist Lauren Alaina, 16, from Rossville, Ga., near Chattanooga, on Wednesday night to become the tenth winner of America's most popular reality TV show.
As he sang his finale song, "I Love You This Big," he was laughing through the lyrics still in disbelief that he won.
Among the many highlights of the finale, McCreery joined Tim McGraw during the finale to belt out the 2004 hit "Live Like You Were Dying."
More than 122 million votes were cast for the final decision, becoming the largest single-show vote of all time by a whopping 22 million votes.
McCreery is North Carolina's second Idol winner. Fantasia Barrino, of High Point, won it all in 2004. Clay Aiken, of Cary, finished second in 2003.
Garner expected so many people that they moved their watch party from Garner Magnet High School to the RBC Center in Raleigh, which holds more than 18,000 people.
McCreery started his journey in Milwaukee, Wisc., on July 21, 2010, when he performed Josh Turner's "Your Man" in front of mainstay Idol judge Randy Jackson and new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
Tyler's reaction to McCreery went viral on the Internet almost immediately after it aired in January.
"Hell fires, save matches, get **** up and see what hatches," Tyler said.
McCreery had one early hiccup in the competition. In February, when McCreery had to pick from a list of songs, he stumbled through Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance." McCreery said he had never heard the song before he performed it.
As soon as he made the Top 13, though, he seemed unstoppable. Yahoo! noted that McCreery was the most-searched for finalist in the competition.
McCreery started the early rounds relying solely on his deep voice, and then he sent the judges and America to new heights after sustaining a long, high note during the Top 12 round.
He continued to cruise along until the Top 7 round, when the judges thought his performance of "Swingin'" was too safe. However, America's votes didn't agree, and a somewhat surprised Ryan Seacrest announced that he moved on.
A renewed McCreery then showed America his incredible stage presence. During the Top 4 round, McCreery sang "Gone" by Montgomery Gentry and showed off his dance moves to a long standing ovation.
The next week, he showed both his serious and fun sides like a true performer. One minute he was walking into the crowd during "Young Blood," and then the next minute he mesmerized everyone with his storytelling during "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)."

Scotty McCreery Rumored Duet with Tim McGraw
THR has learned of some very interesting pairings in store for tonight’s show, airing live from L.A.’s Nokia Theater. In addition to previously reported collaborations (Jack Black with Casey Abrams, Beyonce with the Top 13 girls), Lauren Alaina will have the distinct honor of trading verses with her very own idol, Carrie Underwood, as will Scotty McCreery with country superstar Tim McGraw.
And in what are bound to be two standout moments that don’t involve the final two, James Durbin will take the stage with iconic metal outfit Judas Priest (he sang the band’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” during the Top 24), and Haley Reinhart, who some thought might get a stay of elimination on Tuesday night, will have her moment with Tony Bennett. Serendipitously, the legendary jazz crooner is gearing up for the release of a forthcoming duets album. In addition, ladies man Tom Jones will appear with the Top 13 guys. While Fox will not confirm or comment on any prospective bookings, it’s been long rumored that both judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will perform on the show, the former pushing his first ever solo single and the latter likely hyping her single “On the Floor,” currently No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sources tell THR Lopez will indeed take the stage, but it won't be alone, and multiple blogs report that Aerosmith’s “Dream On” was heard during rehearsal on Tuesday.
Backstage in the press room after the performance show, Tyler would only say that a guitar will be on hand Wednesday should he "choose to play it." As for whether the singer will be joined by his Aerosmith bandmates? The jury's still out. Worth noting: it wouldn’t be Joe Perry’s first time on the Idol stage. The guitarist played The Kinks “You Really Got Me” with Sanjaya Malakar during the Season 6 finale.
The Interscope contingent will include Lady Gaga (performing "Edge of Glory") and U2’s Bono and the Edge (performing a song from the musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), and there looks to be one more surprise by an unexpected twosome: the surviving members of TLC.
As with everything Idol, all is subject to last-minute change.
Stoked yet? Tune in to Fox tonight at 8 p.m. for all the action.

'Scotty McCreery' my 'American Idol' Recap
I have a lot to post here. Wednesdays and Thursdays are busy nights for me, and I voted till 1am, so I didn't really come online last night. I figured my time was better spent voting. So, first I will give you my recap then reviews from around the net, and videos.

Scotty 2nd song... George Strait, Check Yes or No.. wait did I hear you say MONKEY.... :D This song starts off great even if your on a play ground with monkey bars, Merry-Go-Rounds, and a girl named.. Emmie Lou (Really?) To me Scotty seems in awe, subdued slightly, I'd love to know what he was thinking during this song... Was he thinking OMG LOOK IT'S ARCHIE?? Either way, for me this song is cute.. Doesn't matter, I'm a fan I check HECK YES.
