NC cheers on Scotty
People across the state are showing their support for “American Idol” contestant 17-year-old Scotty McCreery.
Each Thursday, the town of Garner hosts viewing parties to see if their native son has made it to the next round.
Parties are being held March 24 and 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Garner Historic Auditorium, 742 W. Garner Road.
On April 7 and 14, parties will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Anfesa’s Grand Marquise Ballroom, 205 New Fidelity Court in Raleigh.
A Raleigh cupcake shop is also showing its support for Scotty this week by developing a flavor in his honor. The Cupcake Shoppe, 104 Glenwood Ave., is offering the Butterscotch Scotty, a butterscotch chip cupcake with butterscotch buttercream icing.
If Scotty survives this week’s elimination will make to the top 10 and be given a spot on the “American Idol” tour.
