Boots and Bands

I never saw this, and thought maybe others out there hadn't either.

Brittany’s Battle, a local nonprofit whose mission is to support cancer patients and their families, held the second annual Boots, Bands and Bulls event Sunday, April 11. Although the event was held at the Longbranch Saloon in Raleigh, there was a strong Garner presence this year.

The opening act for Lee and Carroll Sunday was 16-year-old GMHS sophomore Scott McCreery. McCreery was the 2009 Clayton Idol winner and recently joined the JCC Country Music Showcase. The young musician performed a 30-minute set and seemed quite at ease on stage. Lee told the audience of roughly 700 to remember McCreery’s name as they would likely hear it more in the future of country music.

I have all the faith and confidence in Scotty.  I'm skeptical of The Idol Machine..

OK, now that I've gotten that out of my system the positives of Motown week.  This year the judges are being fair, nice, and the contestants have mentors. Scotty has sang Elvis and Frank Sinatra, so perhaps he can channel his inner GROOVE, or bust out his guitar.   Here is an interesting article about Country singers and American idol, and where they place, how they have done since idol.. etc

I can only hope the contestants stay away from "Shop Around".  David Archuleta won over America singing this on Idol. IF you don't remember, or have never seen it here it is.

OK, So many of you know this site was MIA  yesterday for a few hours.  I changed the url to a .COM, and the domain had difficulty loading it, or some sort of FOREIGN LANGUAGE issue that i don't understand... After many hours it was back, but it's all a mess.. The side bars are screwed up, and I can't get gadgets to work.  IDK WHAT IS GOING ON .. Blogger is helping me fix it, but HERE'S THE ISSUE!

I CANNOT ADD THE POLL FOR THE CONTEST. I'm annoyed to say the least.  I can post but can't add or change the side.  Additionally, some people weren't comfortable with being voted on, so we are eliminating that part of the contest!
