We can only imagine what 2012 holds for Scotty and his fans.

Enjoy your holiday tomorrow and we'll see you in 2012!

Will Scotty McCreery See Album Go Platinum? | HULIQ

It wasn't so long ago that the 17-year-old North Carolina crooner was winning over the hearts of fans across the country on "American Idol." Now 18 and with a hit album on his hands, the only question left is: Will "Clear As Day" go platinum?
Scotty McCreery had a really good year in 2011. He started it off by making it as a finalist on "American Idol," then spent nearly half the year staying at the top of the competition. He topped it all off by become the Season 10 winner of the popular Fox Television show in late May. Then, after a successful tour with his finalist colleagues, he dropped his first album, Clear As Day. That album, spurred by the Christmas shopping season, has passed 800,000 in sales. But after the expected post-Christmas drop-off, will it make it to the platinum plateau?
According to Brian Mansfield at "Idol Chatter," Nielsen SoundScan reported that McCreery's debut album sold 83,000 copies the sales week that ended on Christmas Day, pushing his total sales to 833,000 copies. It is a fairly remarkable achievement for the teen who was also recently recognized as the Best New Artist by the American Country Awards, where the award recipients are chosen by the voting public.
Clear As Day debuted on Oct. 4. It's twelve-week run has placed it to within striking distance of becoming a million-seller -- a platinum album. That hasn't been achieved by an "American Idol" finalist for the past two seasons (although established "Idol" stars have achieved platinum sales, like Daughtry and Carrie Underwood). The last finalist to score a platinum album was Season 7 winner David Cook's 2008 major label debut, which sold over 1.3 million copies.

This is a pretty long article so I only posted a little of it but you can click the link below to read the complete article

Scotty McCreery Shares Family’s Holiday Traditions

Young ountry crooner Scotty McCreery and his family don’t mess around when it comes to Christmas traditions and decorations. The 18-year-old ‘American Idol’ winner dished on some of his favorite holiday rituals, his new album and comfort food in a recent holiday interview with People.
Titled ‘Scotty McCreery’s Family Feast,’ the story ran with a photo that puts McCreery and his family in a Norman Rockwell-like setting, with McCreery himself presenting the perfectly braised Christmas turkey in their Garner, N.C. home. After winning ‘Idol’ this past May, the young star told People that this year was a “wild” year of touring with his mom, Judy, and being away from his sister Ashley, 21, and his dad, Mike.
Though the family has had to spend a significant chunk of the past year apart, they haven’t lost any of their consistency and unity when it comes to the holidays. McCreery says when they built their house six years ago, the family even included a space on the second floor that they call their “Christmas closet,” where they can store all of their decorations and necessities (they put up 12 Christmas trees each year, as well as hundreds of lights). Plus, McCreery’s mom admits one of their favorite traditions, which fizzled out as McCreery and his sister grew older, was getting them matching pajamas for Christmas morning.
“It was so corny!” she says. “When they were little, they loved it. I’m traditional like that, and they’re totally OK with it.” His sister Ashley wasn’t sure at the time of the interview what she was going to get her brother for Christmas, but McCreery said the fact that he was going to be home was the best gift of all.

"American Idol" Goes Country

With Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler both enjoying success on the charts, it was no surprise that a country performer won this past season of "American Idol" on Fox, as Scotty McCreery did in May. What might have been the surprise that the runner-up was also a country act, Lauren Alaina. The debut albums for both were two of the biggest releases in country this fall.

Josh on Scotty McCreery: "I Don't Envy Him One Bit"
Yes, the two singers sound alike, but Scotty is way too busy for Josh Turner's tastes, Josh says.
Blair Garner | Published: Dec 29, 2011
You’ve heard lots of folks compare American Idol winner Scotty McCreery to country star Josh Turner. They do sound a lot alike, right?
Though Josh tells Country Weekly columnist and After MidNite radio show host Blair Garner that he’s glad he doesn’t have Scotty’s busy life right now.
“When I see him, he’s just doing the best he can at just staying awake,” Josh says. "He's pretty busy, and I don't envy him one bit.
"He's going from here and there and everywhere, doing the music thing, finishing school and playing baseball. I got to talk to his parents a good bit, and they're pretty tired and busy. They were taking a red-eye out after the [American Country] awards show so he could be at school the next morning. . . .
"But he's kept a level head on his shoulders, and for his age and what he's been through, I think he's handled it really well, and I'm proud of him."

The Boot: Country Stars Celebrate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This is from before Christmas but it's still a great quote from Scotty.

By Vernell Hackett

Country stars tour constantly, but when it comes time for Christmas, there's no place like home. The Boot caught up with some of your favorite musicians to talk favorite holiday traditions, music and memories, along with plans for celebrating on their rare time off from the road.

Scotty McCreery: "Spending time with my family is a priority during Christmas. It's been tough on me, being out on the road and not being able to spend as much time with them as I usually do. We'll get together and talk about what has been going on and just reflect on the year and spend some quality time together."

Scotty McCreery Vote USA Today Poll

Please head over to USA Today, and give Scotty a little help. There is a poll, and he's a bit behind. I don't put to much weight into these polls when there are others more important to vote on, but if you have minute head over and give your vote to Scotty.

Scotty McCreery Whats he up to this week.

Scotty McCreery, American Idol Winner is heading away from home this holiday week, to share his heart with children of the Dominican Republic. Scotty will pass out shoe boxes to bring smiles to the children's faces. Upon returning from the Dominican Republic, it will be rehearsals for his upcoming tour with Country super star Brad Paisley.

Taste of Country: This Week's Best Tweets

By: Cristin Maher

When country singers get together on tour, there are bound to be some silly shenanigans backstage. When these country singers happen to be brothers, you can expect pure insanity. Kicking off this week's best tweets are Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and his prankster brother Josh Kelley. The Kelley brothers were on tour together, and on the last night of Josh Kelley's stint on Lady A's tour, the guys got together with their band and crew members in some crazy bathrobes for a photo opp. They look hilarious! Also appearing in this week's Twitter roundup are Scotty McCreery, who channeled his inner dog on a car ride home, Martina McBride and Wynonna Judd, who were celebrating their kids' birthdays, and Alan Jackson, who congratulated his friend George Jones for his lifetime achievement Grammy recognition. See what your favorite country stars were chirping about this past week!

The Charts

With Christmas arriving the last day of the week, there are not a lot of bullets out there on some charts. So, no reason for panic, yet. If your favourite Idol even tumbled a few spots, it may be because they were pushed back by a Christmas song or two. The charts will start to right themselves this week, but there will still be a lot of year-end countdown shows crowding out the newer songs. Wait until the following week before we see the complete rebounds.

This week is iTunes gift card redemption week. While the ranking charts we see won’t seem much different, the underlying numbers will be huge. In 2009 Ke$ha’s “TikTo” moved 610K to top the chart and “Replay” sold 447K while “Bad Romance” sold 445K. Every song in the top 10 sold more than 250K. Every song in the top 20 sold more than 154K. Every song in the top 34 sold more than 100K. Meanwhile, top 50 was good for around 75K and top 100 for 42K. For those people out there that still aren’t impressed, keep in mind that Christmas fell on a Friday that year. That’s basically one crummy week (the week before Christmas is a bad week for iTunes) plus Saturday and Sunday to redeem gift cards. Last year, we didn’t get a numbers leak, but many Idols saw triple digit percentage increases in sales with only one day to redeem those cards.

Scotty McCreery:
“The Trouble With Girls”: 25 Country (26)

Note: Numbers indicate position on the chart while numbers in brackets indicate the position on the chart the previous week. The “^” (aka “a bullet”) indicates that a song gained spins since last week

Scotty McCreery ends year with International Charity Trip

I hope everybody had a Very Very Merry Christmas! I think I gained 10lbs, but it was wonderful!

GARNER -- After a year that saw him go from the halls of Garner High School to Hollywood TV studios to arena stages across the nation, Scotty McCreery will close 2011 by visiting with hundreds of children who are much less fortunate.

Scotty, the 18-year-old "American Idol" winner, is traveling to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday with a group of family members and friends. They will be delivering shoeboxes filled with gifts to poverty-stricken children.

The trip is part of "Operation Christmas Child," the international charity program organized by Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse organization.

Scotty has helped put together shoeboxes for the program for years.
Thanks to his newfound celebrity this year, Scotty will have the opportunity to see up-close what the shoeboxes can mean to recipients. Operation Christmas Child hopes to deliver shoeboxes to more than 8.5 million children worldwide this Christmas.

The Dominican Republic holds special appeal for Scotty, said his mother, Judy McCreery. "Baseball's big in the Dominican Republic, so it's going to be great for Scotty," she said. Besides music, Scotty's other passion is baseball, and he hopes to earn a spot on Garner High's team this spring.
The trip will continue through Saturday.

Since winning the top-ranked TV singing competition in May, Scotty's life has been a bit of a whirlwind. He's performed on numerous talk shows, headlined last summer's "American Idols Live!" tour, earned gold records, saw his first album soar to the top of the charts and been named the top new artist at the American Country Awards.

In a few weeks, he'll be heading out on another tour, where he'll open shows for fellow country singer Brad Paisley.

But throughout his success, Scotty has tried to live his life as normally as possible when he's back home in Garner. That came as a surprise to some TV and music executives.

"They said it's impossible - there's no way you can go back to school," Scotty, a senior, remembered. "I said, 'Look, y'all don't know my hometown.'"

Scotty aims to get back to his hometown on Saturday night to see his exiting year come to a close. So how will the "American Idol" celebrate New Year's Eve? His plans aren't firmed up, but he expects something low-key with friends.

"I'm sure there will be something," he said with a grin.

Due to the holiday weekend, please expect a greater than usual margin of error.

Scotty McCreery 10 Hottest New Music Acts of 2011

What would a year in music industry be if there weren't any new acts adding sprinkle to the competition? Sure, the battle among the already-established artists would be interesting enough for music fans and critics alike to sit and watch since it gets tougher every year, but the addition of the newbies would undoubtedly make the game even more dynamics than it has already had. In honor of those budding artists, AceShowbiz compile 10 out of the many based on their achievements in the past twelve months.

2011 has its fair share of new music acts. The likes of J. Cole, Foster the People, Scotty McCreery, Jessie J and The band Perry are picked because they have proved themselves in their own unique ways. Those rising stars stole attention and stood out among the rest either by busting the charts, making history with their record-breaking music, or going viral with their genre-bending sound. If they keep up the good work, they won't be just one hit wonder and will continue to shine in the years to come.

Scotty McCreery is the new American sweetheart. He becomes a quick favorite due to his boyish look and deep voice combined with his passionate delivery which he showcased throughout the tenth season of the "American Idol". The North Carolina native overshadowed the others and won a record-breaking 122.4 million votes from household across the country. At the age of 17, he became the youngest male contestant to ever win the first place in the nine-year history of the FOX show.

The real competition, though, was out there, and Scotty didn't fail. He busted the chart with his debut single "I Love you This Big", soaring into the Top 25 after only three weeks of the release and having the highest chart debut for a new artist on Billboard Country Songs chart in the SoundScan era. He nicely sealed his record-breaking achievement by bowing at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 with his first album "Clear as Day", making him the first country act to top the chart at first try.

Merry Christmas

First off ALL OF US here at Fans of Scotty would like to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. Tomorrow in honor of the holiday Fans Of Scotty will not be posting, so that everybody may enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends. Again, enjoy your holiday everybody!
